Kawi is seriously dropping the ball. Ando and Adam said they would be willing to go if they could. This whole KTM/Kawasaki beef is so unbelievably juvenile it makes me want to send Bruce and Roger to timeout so they can think about what they’ve done.

Shit I’ll go, I’ll take the gear bag and the wife and we will take care of one of those number plates.  We’ll fly coach, and buy a bike when we get there.  I’ll foot the bill no problem, once in a lifetime experience!

Is you honestly believe deegan wouldn’t be there if he wanted to be your a complete retard don , they would make enough in vlogs alone to fund  it , he couldn’t give a shit about the flag he’s been waving all Summer ,also  teams have been covering riders for years let alone star Yamaha and they’re  cash cow , wake up and stop making a fool of yourself

You are wasting your time and breath at this point.  The funny thing is, the folks that are pretending to be upset about what/why Deegan is not going, would probably never admit why they really can't stand him, his family, his dad. It is not because they care about him racing at MXoN at all, there is an underlying loathe and this is an opportunity (albeit, really lame) to try to drag them down and throw shade over false assumptions..  Not because they care about him racing, but because they can't stand the family all-together.

Now you have to ask, why would anybody hate on a family that has a massively solid core, and built an empire out of nothing?

There is nothing to ask, it's so obvious. Jealousy. Brian Deegan came from nothing and made a fortune and has a beautiful family. A lot of people refuse to believe that is possible because they can't achieve that, and it pisses them off. And hating on his 17yr old kid.

…but he is healthy enough for SMX….  I will need more info on this before I really judge but ….there are riders and teams that I am becoming less of a fan of every day this drags on.  I understand this race is somewhat a business decision for riders and teams…then again….how about giving back to the fans that allow you a career many of us would kill for.

But what is the message? Dry

It's crazy that red plate #1, #2 & #3 bikes are so unappealing to pros/teams in US... from the other end of the pond some guys would give arm and leg to ride a parade lap with those numbers...

Right now, the US sure don't shine under the best light on this...

If there's no US team, everybody will miss it. If there's no US team, everyone responsible (and I think they are quite a few) should be ashamed of themselves. It's not exactly like USA is a struggling, broke third world country whose absence is meaningless on the MX scene...

We French loooove to bash our federation, often because of bold selection choices, but not only. Yet the FFM spends lots of time, money and energy on the MXDN, just out of national pride. Is national pride gone on the US MX scene?

And I know in war times, a lot of Americans think of the French as pussies. As far as MX goes, have the Americans become scared of losing?

C'mon guys, get here and fight!

Kudos to Plessinger and Hampshire.

There's a lot of national pride in the US MX scene.  It's easy to slam a rider for not going, but there are a lot of factors involved, and more than one person making decisions for each rider.

I know that Jason Anderson gave it all at MXDN a few years ago and won the first moto, but ended up with a bad injury after being landed on after the finish line.  I'm sure that influences Factory Kawi management.

Barcia left nothing on the table.  So have other riders.

We need to send the fastest 3 riders we have who are willing AND ABLE to go.

I'm hoping things turn around and we're able to send Deegan, then maybe Plessinger, AC, Craig, Masterpool, Stewart, or Hampshire.

Maybe it isn't too late to grant US citizenship to Ferrandis?

He is complaining that he WASN’T selected by the French federation..

Pretty fucking despicable that you'd even make that comparison.

Especially when us Yanks stomped you Brits in 2 separate wars and then saved your asses in the world wars, you'd be speaking German if it weren't for us so sit down, shut up and thank America that you even have the little freedoms that you do over there on your shitty little island.

I might cheer for team USA if that happened. Yamaha still makes his YZ250!

9-11 was a setup froM inside and the USA pride outside the USA ain’t worth shit anymore. Otherwise they would have  show up at Mxon just to prove they are the best… this was never a problem In the old days. But this generation lacks pride and courage it’s going downhill more and more with this generation. When they don’t show up they have lost all Respect for being a MX nation.. and should be banned from hosting a Nation ever again. You don’t come  to ours we won’t  come to yours simple as that

Unpopular opinion,

The profits from this race, the MXON, where do they go?

I attended the event at Redbud in 2018, I bought the VIP tickets (very glad I did) I believe they were around 800.00. I bought the general admission tickets to the event in 2022 with the intent of buying the VIP tickets. I can’t quote the exact price of these tickets but last year they had a few different levels varying from under 1000.00 to over 2000.00 per ticket. That’s a lot of coin. I balked at the price and ultimately decided I didn’t want to go due to the threat of another mudder. I know a person doesn’t have to purchase the VIP ticket but that’s not the point.

How much money did the Richie’s make for hosting the event? How much did Luongo make? Why are we as a motocross community supporting these people? We are asking the riders and teams to donate their time and money to race for their country, why are we not demanding that of the promoters, MXGP, and the AMA? All of the profits brought in could go to help support the regular season grid in MXGP and AMA racing.

If this were a non-profit where the profits were distributed to the teams, riders, or even donated to road to recovery it would make sense. This just looks like a giant money grab to me where these entities are taking advantage of the riders.

Flame on!

Some of you thinking that the Deegans could just straight up tell Star, or any other riders telling their teams that they are racing on their own dime is laughable. Are you guys actually serious?

For those not self employed, go tell your employers that you're going to use their equipment to do something outside of what you are contracted to do but on your own dime and see what their response is. I work for a great company and even they would look at me and tell me, "the hell you are!"

Yes, I agree it's really going to suck if we don't send a team to MXdN. At the same time, is MXdN in any of these racers contracts? If no, then it's 100% up to the team on whether these racers can go or not. They are contracted for SX, MX and SMX and anything outside of that has to be cleared by their teams.

I don't think it is a good comparison of an average employee asking their boss to take home tools for the weekend. Deegan is not average and I think Deegan and Star could have that conversation. From what I can tell, Star Yamaha has built their brand on doing what the riders want. Yes, that is during contracted racing series but I don't think it would be a cold "no" from Star if going were important to Deegan. That conversation may have happened, but it would be bad for Deegan to say "we really wanted to go but Star wouldn't let us" and bash Star publicly.

I am just more disappointed, for WHATEVER reason he is not going. There is enough judgement on the why in the forum already. He has had a helluva rookie season and it would be great to see him up against other MX2 (and MXdN) top racers. Like when Tomac and Roczen raced in MXdN in 2013.

My view from the US fan base… As avid race going fans, fans that watch every race and qualifying on TV, fans that search for every piece of content online, and customers of bikes and products…..IOW the people that pay you everything in this sport….how about showing some appreciation and pay back to the fans and go to a race most of us care very much about….. Even if it isn’t the biggest payout.  This goes to teams and riders.  I would really want to hear the exact replies and reasons some aren’t supporting this race.  We can make decisions when teams may be providing cover.  Kawi and PC clearly are not supporting it.  Fine..no green bikes when it is in the US either.  Don’t even ask.  Blue??  You are getting there too it sounds.  Deegan??  Barcia….I would like to know details.  Coop?  Justin Cooper has a valid reason.  Some things are more important.  Others?  If you reply to this it is their choice then that’s fine.  It is my choice to buy a product or support a rider.  This influences me.

Should there be a change to promoter, and others, profits being used to help teams offset costs.  Hell yes…so put industry, team, and rider pressure on them…but meanwhile…how about standing up and representing!

and I still say call Masterpool, Colt, and Swoll in that order…before JuJu type options imo.  Next year I may have a different view but as of now I think these are better choices.

Also…unrelated…asking for a friend …but is there any Kawi dirt bike rentals near say …Ernee France?  I’m looking for. KX450 to do some easy and mild trail type riding on from Oct 6-8.  Will take good care of the bike.  Let me know.

Barcia getting some injuries handled in the off season. Swoll was already asked and Triumph said no without some sort of insurance policy in case he gets hurt and they are down a rider for X amount of time.

Im heavy on sarcasm here.

I loved Grant Harlan’s post race interview from this weekend:

Matthes: “Overall, what did you think about this SMX stuff?”

Harlan: “I think we’re sitting 13th which is like $34 grand so right now we’re OK”

Matthes: “No I’m not asking about your results I’m asking for the betterment of the sport.”

Harlan: (brief pause)…..”I’m in 13th and I got $34,000, if we stayed here that’s going into my account”

Matthes: “Think about the betterment of the sport Hardog!”

Harlan: “That is the betterment of the sport. Money in my pocket”

Gotta love the honesty 😂

I hadn’t heard the Triumph deal was locked down.  I guess it is.  Okay…Masterpool or Colt?

If there were a fairly top level team somewhere in the world facing the same challenge, which seams to not happen, when coming to the U.S. I can say as an avid fan…I would buy say… a KX450SR and let someone like Masterpool or Colt use it for free.  They can bring many parts and their own suspension in checked bags.  Other backup parts we’ll figure out.  Just leave the decals on the bike and maybe give me a VIP pass to eat at the rig …..and I’ll take the bike back after…clutch fried and motor smoking.  I’ll rebuild and fix what is needed!  I would either keep the bike nice, depending on rider and team, or ride that MXdN bike at my local tracks proud as hell.

Especially when us Yanks stomped you Brits in 2 separate wars and then saved your asses in the world wars, you'd be speaking German if it weren't for us so sit down, shut up and thank America that you even have the little freedoms that you do over there on your shitty little island.

Exactly, ignorant comparison.

I know….but they are okay with him doing SMX so maybe MXdN.  tbh…and fair…Masterpool has been the best rider of the 3 I suggested anyway,  find him a KX and we fans will get him over there.  I know there is speculation on why he hasn’t got a team clamoring over him …but what I have seen as a fan is someone who says the right stuff in interviews, works his ass off, and frankly…makes many factory riders look bad…and whiny. TY FOR USA MXdN!!!

also….does Ben Watson have a backup bike Colt could use.  He would do it with a couple days practice on the bike I bet.  Colt is not a spoiled whiny factory rider.….

…..just remembered…..Ty should have had his appendix removed 2 weeks ago…lol….okay…I give up.  I’m blaming every team and rider without a good reason,  Kawi..I expect this shit from you but Yamaha/Star/Deegan…come the fuck on.  Disappointed.

Paging ML, Dark, Swap, anyone. Can you get DC and RD on video to ask the questions and see their reactions/answers? I know we are a small time but you all seem pretty intertwined in the industry so it shouldn’t be too hard to find their numbers. Just a couple questions, main one why can’t we get anyone over there to run the 1, 2, 3? Will RD still manage the team if it doesn’t have 3 super stars? If not is he willing to step down from this day forward for someone that is willing to travel to France with a B or C team? Is Star done supporting efforts for this race going forward like factory Kawi? If so, why? If not, why this year? Is there a plan in place from the start of the season for this race or do they just start winging it, say around July? Is anyone able to sign up for team USA or can it just be factory riders? I’m sure you can come up with a couple questions of your own to make the interview worth everyone’s time

What does DC have to do with it?

Wow, on the 22nd anniversary of 9/11 we have a bunch of prima donna's who have no pride in their country and won't go to France to defend their MXDN victory.

Good job the troops who went after Bin Laden weren't so apathetic and pussy footed. What happened to the land of the free and the home of the brave?

If Team USA won't send a team then they don't deserve to ever hold the event on American soil again.

Hope I'm proved wrong!

Haven't you heard....we are the evil empire now.   Travel warnings from around the world say to not come here.

I agree with you, especially on how pussy-footed we have become now.

....but the blame is not on the moto fan base.
