What would keep Barcia out?  He seems like an automatic for the team...  Saw him today on-track, not like there's an injury.

I'm not sure why, I'll try to find out this weekend.

Good grief, obviously a lot of USA's riders don't give a shit, some of the teams don't as well, we have an 80 yr old team manager grandfathered in (pun intended) who also is affiliated with every other teams competitor. What a mess, isn't there any way we can make this event relevant to the sport in this country? Would Roger send his riders if a Yamaha, Honda, or Kawasaki team manager managed the des Nations team? Give Stew, Omara, Rick Johnson anyone else the job.

Apparently few race for glory these days.

Events like MXON just aren't a big component of the business plan.

I personally would put Barcia on a 250. What makes me mad at him will make me happy with him at MXDN. He is hard to pass and isn't afraid to take anyone out.

I can't disagree.  Hard to argue that these guys should have to pony up their own money to represent.  If there was a fund then "finances" could be eliminated as an excuse.  Go or be a turd for whatever reasons.

It's the fucking Olympics of Motocross.  It either means something or it doesn't.  What does it mean Vital?  Speak up.

I personally love MXON and what it stands for. At the same time for the guys racing it it should not have to come as an added expense to them or their respective manufacture.
If MX sports wanted to grow international interest (which we seen of a lot this summer) I would think that there would be a way to have them foot the expense for the teams and riders.
Infront needs to increase the payout for the riders to make it more appealing in my opinion.

AP, RJ and Masterpool would make me happy. Next time it's on the home soil remember who was willing to go this year.

But yeah, if it needs to be Marchbanks - Masterpool - Hawkins, let's do it.

another thing i want to highlight is Masterpool and Marchbanks is a good pick but theres dudes in the 250 class that probably have a better budget to do it and are simply faster on their 250…

Said this last year, yes it’s nice to win but would prefer sending people that want to go every year if selected, not just when they think they can win

I get it why some guys are reluctant to go.

Riders don't get paid one euro or dollar to race in MXON;

This race for no money is a risk of injury;

Riders have to take two weeks out of their off extremely short off season to go to a country that can be difficult to get quality food and good accommodations;

Riders have to pay out of their own pocket for travel and lodging expenses sometimes - business class to CDG or AMS  and back ain't cheap, roughly 8 to 10 grand, and hotels in the summer in that part of France are rare and expensive.

And, history says there is a good chance it will rain.

Plus, if they go and lose, we American fans here get pissy and dump on them. Then the Euro fans come here and say "see, told you so - we're better" So they get to keep training hard, spend a bunch of money, and potentially lose and have people shit on them. It's not a great value proposition, so you have to tip your cap to someone like AP that's just in. And I am not an Anderson fan, but let's remember how he rode his ass off and then got landed on which is another potential outcome for all of the hard work and money that riders put in. Let's keep all that in mind as we're being critical here.

I think people will be very supportive, because it will be 3 patriot underdogs.

I don't criticize any rider for not going.  That's their business.  But to not send a team at all....that's full on chicken shit.  Get the fuck outta here.

Because he rides for Kawasaki and they don't support the des Nations.

More than likely, but since he's riding for Team Japan, I think it's fair to assume that Kawi Japan is footing the bill, not Kawasaki US.

I think thats the factory Kawi team that Anderson and AC are on. PC allows their guys to go. I could be wrong though.

Forkner would be good, since he’s not worn down and improving.

Even better than that he has the ability to rise to the occasion. Can't say that for a lot of guys.

I guess Japan isn’t sending a team due to their series racing the same weekend

Don’t know why you would dump on them if they don’t win? The Aussie team only has two MXdN podiums ever and whether they do well or not doesn’t change my support.

And as a non-American, I’m far more likely to cheer for your ‘B’ teams that want to be there, than A listers who only go when it’s convenient.

Jesus Christ this is pathetic. No hate against those two, in fact they’ve added me as a fan for their willingness to represent - but has it actually come down to “who wants to go” versus “who do WE want to go.” Is this not America? What kind of Jamaican bobsled team shit is this…

The “team said I couldn’t”/“we won’t be competitive” is this biggest pile of horseshit I think we’ve seen in the history of MXdN… You think these guys went because they thought they could win? Or only because they were told by a team manager to go?
