World Superrcross Series 2023.. was just one club race. That is cheapest "world championship" I ever heard of.

So the Saudis are out. No more western investments. Brics is our new best friend now. Maybe they failed to buy into the fim cough like  the fia cough..

I LOOOOOVE that show.

It's a pity the races -whenever an event takes place- are not up to par with the behind the scenes stories.

Can anyone smarter than me explain how one group that promised X amount of dollars over X amount of years can just back out unless these new investors just seamlessly picked up where they left off and will cover the previously arranged contracts and dollar amounts?

I wonder what the write-off amount vs the actual money paid over the last year looks like for the fund.

Looks like they are setting sail for calmer waters

I guess if you can’t work it out with the Saudis the next logical step is to work with Russians lol.

It's nice to see that Bailey has found some partners/investors....but that's really all the announcement said now the question is how legit are they? Funding for how long and how much? We still have no info on Singapore, Germany and Canada or for the entire series for that matter...What are they going to do differently to fix what failed? Are the current teams going to stay or go?

I do question the timing of the announcement, intentional or coincidence? (typical of WSX to try and ride the coattails)

I still think Bailey is some type of snake oil salesman and am not a fan of how he has conducted himself up to this point and these new investors/partners only back that up...Time will tell if this actually a final gasp or a breath of fresh air...Hope they figure it out but I'm skeptical at best...

I'd think its a safe bet that the 2023 season is canceled and they will regroup for 2024 with the new partners, right?

No, no, no, it's a second pilot season of two races to validate the conclusions of the first one. The first season will offer 18 races all around the world in 2024.

Well just got this in the mail

Really sucks because I already paid for the airlines and hotel.  I know many of you are happy that this seems to be failing but for us expats that cant make it back to the USA to see a SX, this was a real treat and something i was looking forward to see.  Something better than nothing.

Yep same here I changed my flights and will go scuba diving in Thailand for a few weeks. Up to 30 days for ticket refunds I won't give WSX another cent.

Here's what Adam Bailey had to say: "I'm so excited, and I just can't hide it, I'm about to lose control and I think I like it."

There’s still some rounds scheduled though, correct?

Singapore? That was gonna be a tough location anyway. Is it too late to try and do a Canada, London, Netherlands, Australia, US, or Puerto Rico round?

Mogadishu, Nairobi and maybe the thriving Phnom Penh, add some South American dates too. Pre-sale and then logistical issues for places that are dumb to select anyway.

Each round would need to be sanctioned by the countries governing body, would the AMA sanction a race in the US?

Singapore was a great location for most of SE Asia.  Easy to get in and out of, great hotels, food and transportation.  If they were ever going to have something in SE Asia Singapore was the place for it to be.

I have been to the Thailand GP, other than the first year at Pintong it was a shit show.  The Indonesia MXGP was also not the best.  The ground here is very hard and dry and hard to put on a good show when its over 38c and the crowd is melting.

Anyway, if anyone is in thailand over the weekend we have a OK track outside of pattaya, good to ride on between 4pm and 6pm you wont melt so bad.
