I think there’s room for this for sure, but I feel like it would be more so along the lines of what you call the winner of the playoff rounds, or who has the most combined points between all of the SX/MX/playoff rounds vs. what you call the championship itself.
Maybe that’s weird, but in either of the previous circumstances, in my brain it feels weird to label them purely as a “motocross” champion because of how the series is otherwise being branded.
On another note, the SMX acronym in and of itself is unfortunately problematic due to having two AMA ran series’ proclaiming 2 different SMX champions between what we’ve come to know as supermotocross and supermoto. It’s not as easy as labeling either “SMX champion” nowadays.
That's such an American thing to do, claim the whole universe.
How about...
Milky Way Supermotocross Championship
Since WSX stand with one foot in the grave and this lame name/setup was created by AMA/Feld etc i can only hope that that it goes away when WSX dies to.

AMA Series Finals
I am ok as it is, otherwise "AMA SX Finals" sounds nice too.
This is the one, doesn’t sound stupid like super motocross, and doesn’t really combine the whole thing as one, just SMX Finals as its own championship, because lets be honest, no one is going to consider the smx winner as the overall champion. Especially if its not Jett or Chase. For example if kenny wins it, is anyone gonna take him seriously as the winner of the whole year? When he only won one 1 sx race and only rode one outdoor? It feels like thats what the promoters are wanting it to be but I just don’t see it that way, feels like its own separate like exhibition race almost.
And if they did separate it and had the first round as the qualifier for the rest, with big prize money it might attract some big names from euro if they truly are hybrid tracks.
thats just what I reckon would be cool anyway ✌️
HA! 32 years with that name, i would accept a check.
Indoor Outdoor- I reckon RC would be down with that 😂
It really doesn’t matter what the name is, because once the WSX is done and dusted after this year they will just can it as there won’t be anyone trying to compete with the AMA
Pit Row
I am worried about this, but I feel like once the cats out of the bag its hard to put it back in. I mean they definitely could just get rid of it next year along with the extra money and pretend like it never happened, but I feel like the chorus of ppl/riders complaining about the shit pay for most riders outside the top 5 is higher than its ever been. At the absolute bare minimum they need to stop making riders pay an entry fee to race a pro event. On top of that though now that the privateers are going to get some decent money I hope that means that it can never go back to how it was. Well have to see.

It's a supercross cup with no play offs, no motocross elements, no supermoto racing and it's in summer. I'm calling it summercross
