Most of those things are just adds anyway. A story only being told because they had a sponsor. If its word for word, same exact segment each week. I must not pay attention ,I never heard Hunter say that quote until this weekend.
I was commenting on what was being said in the 2 posts I quoted. They were talking about the dad and both brothers, and the coverage of the family. Sorry to get in the way of Your ranting.
Shaq's step-dad told him the same thing.
“And he said, ‘You spoiled m****f****r, this is pressure! Pressure is when you don’t know where your next meal coming from. I don’t ever wanna hear you say you can’t handle the pressure again. It’s f***n' basketball. Get out!’”

The title doesn’t really make a lot of sense. You can tell there struggle was brief. Not having food for yrs is not pressure it’s a situation your stuck in. The pressure is only a short term situation. 30-60,000 trucking co.s r going bankrupt every 2 weeks. That’s a serious situation. When I can make more money racing a 20 yr old 125 than driving a truck in the northeast doing 20+ hr days. You know the situation is bad.
No rant…just an opinion and a comment. I can have one and make the other…
From what I understand is that Dazzie had a plan when he saw the potential in his kid. He sold his farm (which really wasn't a big farm with loads of equipment) to go to Europe after he secured a ride for Hunter.
The sponsor / ride never worked out as planned and they weren't getting everything that thought they'd get from the sponsor. It turned from bad to shit real quick.
That is where they ended up having to tighten their belts and live cheap...tuna and bagets etc in order to keep the dream alive. Hunter said that that it was a rough period....they were almost down to nothing but kept persevering until the results started coming. That's what Hunter meant by saying preasure is when you can't eat if you don't get results.
They took a huge risk and it's great to see how it has paid off and I'm really happy for them.
Sadly, there are many families out there who have put all their eggs in one basket and fall short of the dream. Only a handful make it.
Yep the fact there is abit of needle between major competitors only adds to the spectacle.....Deegan started it off and hunter has returned serve...also Jett rocked the Oz flag at shougal to stick it back in as well...
All good stuff
See, you learn something new every day, I never knew
" cracker " was a racial slur.
Only the fragile boomers on this forum take offense
That's a key piece of the puzzle to be fair isn't it.
It's not like they gambled because their kid was half decent on a PW.
They could see the potential and decided to do everything they could.
It's reckless, but it's badass and super dedicated, and it's something you could only make a call on if you were in that position, I imagine.
Also, I'd piss myself laughing if someone called me a cracker, love it, not offended in the slightest.
Also also, the repetition is a little much, but I expect and hope) it'll dial down now that Jett has gotten a big bike championship.
Walk a Mile in my Shoes comes to mind.
I took the comment he made as that He was the money earner . Not that they literally were unable to eat. Just that he had the pressure to put in results as the main income provider for the family. I know they were not well off, but I did not think they were starving.
Either way, It still is a great example of not giving up, You never know when you will have a break through . If You give up , You'll never know how close you were to reaching Your goals.
I was thinking the same thing. What are the chances he was just trying to make a point of what he envisions real struggle is? Even if he only felt a glimpse of it, he does not have to have personal experience in the trenches of hell to point out what actual struggle is to make his point, which if we are talking about it here, was clear.
This exact scenario reminds me of this new country song about how tough life is in a small town (which I have never heard). Everyone is trying to break this singer down to shreds for this song.. "He didn't even grow up in a small town!!" "He is just a rich guy!", this whole thing turned into an attack on this singer. These same people attacking this guy for singing this song are going to go turn on their radio and listen to hip hop, rap, whatever, and trust every word those artists sing are actual life events for those artists.. It does not get much more stupid than that.
What a thread

Where can I find this interview? Been looking all over
I searched it all looking for the interview. It was definitely “interesting”
minus the youtube stuff, who has the bigger $ contract?
You really think someone here knows the answer to that question?
Do you think anyone on here knows if Lawrance's couldn't afford a sandwich a few years ago...
None of know the answers to 90% of the BS posted on here... just making conversation.
Was part of the Unadilla broadcast.
90% or 98%?
Yes, I know...I travelled, with Hunter, Jett and Dazzie , we helped each other ..they landed in the USA,..the same time as we did..us fucki g Saffas and Aussies...we shared meals and stories...
Sunny Drake's spot...Dazz and myself cooked up a first class chow
bruhhhhh
I bet Dazzie had sandwich money.
This.
I'm sure i'll get 100% down votes for this but I don't understand why we are glorifying this whole "we were so poor, we didn't have food" story. A 20 year old privateer living in his beater van and chasing the dream is awesome. He's an adult and making a go at it. He doesn't have a family to provide for. Go do your thing. I hope to God you make it but if not, hopefully you made amazing memories and stories, and find success in the next chapter of your life.
Dazzy (and countless other dads) risked everything and put his entire family in absolutely shitty situations. As a father you have one job - feed and shelter your kids. Luckily it worked out great for them but there are hundreds out there that it didn't work out for. Stop glorifying making these dumb decisions that put your family at risk...
I like both Hunter and Deegan about the same. They're both out there doing what they were hired to do. Both have done great all season. But Haiden is not lesser than because his father made better life decisions than Dazzy. Brian made smart business decisions that put his kids in a position to chase their dreams without it being a burden on anyone. For the record i'm not exactly a Brian Deegan fan but he has done a solid job as a dad. Why does our society shit all over that?
