Snap, feel exactly the same way, annoys the crap out of me, but...... I would assume they have to give the full sponsor title every time, not their fault just the system.
Malin, is the best in the game. Knows the sport, calls passes before they happen, tells you that they are rehearsing a pass at a particular place for the next lap, and lo and behold they make the pass.
Wedge is good, but I think misses stuff that’s happening, maybe because he is carrying the others. RC and Stewart aren’t very good at all in my opinion.
He's not my cup of tea to listen to commentating and I can't put my finger on why, but I really have to have a deep respect for the bloke and I can still appreciate the clear effort he has put in and continues to put in.
His level of knowledge of all things MXGP, right down to the macro level, and the things he picks up on as a former top-notch rider himself is as good as anyone else out there and I'm sure in many cases better.
I don't know if it's the "Ooooooooh!!" when something happens or the tone of some things, it's good for the dude to be excited about what he's watching so I can't knock him for it, to be honest it sounds a lot like a 'me' problem now I say it all out loud, the guy is certainly great at his job either way.
I love his style/ enthusiasm , especially when a rider nearly decks it and gives it his trademark sound
It's almost sounds like a fan is comontating at times

There will be the Jett Lawrence of announcing sitting eight here on this forum- but Malin has MxGp locked down (God bless) and AMA have Weedge (who doesn't even really ride).
- if they want a super star they need to open up a trial system for prospective talent.
Grant Langston was really REALLY good
Paul is doing a fantastic job. I like when he has a US commentator helping in the booth as well, it's always a + when JT$ shows up. I wonder how good would it be to have him and James
?!
He’s definitely at the top of the game. It’s gotta be hard as hell calling the race by himself and not having someone to bounce off of. Put bubba in the booth with him at des nations!!
Add me in as another that loves Malin's work.
The other thing that helps, though, is that the coverage (like Malin) is only focused on the race once the gate drops. They don't jam pre-recorded interviews and sideline reporters down our throats. I also don't think I've ever even seen Malin shown on screen, which is awesome - I'm here for the racing.
Langston and Malin in the booth would of been something I would of like to seen
I grew up listening to the Cards and Dodgers on the radio with my grandpa. Magic. Malin has that old time ability to paint a picture for the listener. Play by play but enough color for the listener to understand as if they were there. Dude is legend.
Yeah but he really needs to throw some more “inside/outside” in there to get his point across
Although I don't find JS annoying I also don't think he's great? Alot of his insights are good but often he's quite bad at explaining so you have to read into what he says to understand? For example when Masterpool was doing well at Thunder Valley all he had to say was on top of riding great one of the reasons why he was doing so well was maybe his suspension setup was good better that day? Not that he had an "advantage" over factory guys because he's a privateer? Like what?
He often rambles and says the same thing 3 times while explaining something. I get no one is perfect. I prefer him to RC. 100% he'll get better though.
GL was the best.
My wife and I use "He got it all wrong" a lot around the house.
Malin is perfection personified in announcing. Just as good as the F1 announcers. Wedge is a boy amongst men in comparison.
The only time you can see him is probably early saturdays during their live Studio Show, where him and Lisa interviewing a few riders before the EMX and qualification races.
Malin used a phrase to describe a sketchy sequence, something like "well that would have tightened that old balloon knot right up!" Haha
Two things about Ricky's announcing. He is so far up Star racing's ass and he does not like KTM's. I think Malin and Emig are the two best in the business.
Did anyone catch Paul referring to Seewer as "rubber man" after he got up from his crash in the MXGP highlights?
Makes me think he had JH84's interview with Lewis in mind since they spoke a bit about Jeremy's injury resistance.
Pit Row
Ricky is very biased, just like his comment to weege, "come ride 2 strokes with me I have every color but red". I felt that was aliitle petty. Did Honda let him go? yes, but now he is paid to call a race not sell bikes.
He also said that Seewer had the brain of a gold fish, being passed twice in the same corner, riding the slower outside. Did Seewer make a move on Paul' girl?

‘Memory of a goldfish’, meaning a very short memory. He failed to remember getting passed using that line just one lap ago.
There’s no offence in that saying.
I know, was just joking around.
" ooooohhhhh that must of hurt! Right on the old crown jewels!"
Gotta luv him!
My favourite used to be the Canadian national coverage years ago ( dont know what its like now) but always on the action wherever it was on the track and the commentators were very very enthusiastic to say the least.
Brian Koster and Marc Travers.
They no longer announce the series.
Or ''he needs to take a trip to the berry farm''.
Paul Malin ranks up there with Jackie Stewart. Just an absolute natural.
Vin Scully was fantastic.
