That is all.

Do you really think factory Kawasaki is going to hire someone that can’t ride supercross.

Maybe not in Kawi with their current rider pairing, but when some riders go SX only, shouldn’t that open opportunities for riders like Masterpool to pick up a MX only deal?

Please make it stop!!!

What masterpool is doing is very very impressive. If he did it in SX, you would have an argument. And it wouldn’t matter because if kawi didn’t take him, someone else would. They are not going to drop either of these guys for him when frankly indoors, they are on a different level.

Kawi should throw him $120k and be the outdoor test rider during SX. Then let him ride any Mx AND MXGP races he wants with full support and bonuses.

He would be the grass root fan favorite….or not.

I think him riding a stock kx 450 and smoking factory dudes is a very good sales pitch for kx 450.

This never should have turned into a dog Masterpool or AC post. Masterpool is doing some incredible riding. Masterpool has the venue to practice SX and undoubtedly will when the time is right. Lets celebrate another young American making the outdoors a little more interesting.

This. Hire a supercross specialist and motocross specialist. The teams would have a rider concentrating on one discipline for 12 months of the year. Let AC race sx, masterpool race mx

This right here... why would Kawi give him a factory ride when he's doing just fine on the "stock" bike, which is what is getting him all this attention in the first place. As soon as he moves over to a factory team he's no longer special, and would be expected to get the results he's been getting or better.

I'm also not convinced he would do much better on a factory team. It's not like he's living out of a van, driving himself to the races, wrenching on his own bikes and having to practice at the local practice tracks. The dude's dad owns a training facility and builds him a new/different track every day.

I’m in the I doubt he can do much better with a factory ride camp.  Yeah one can say swapping a blown motor between moto’s is important.  Happened to a hunter yesterday, but doesn’t happen often.

Whatever the Masterpool family is doing is working.  Working better than many factory teams.  So if it’s not broke why try and fix it.   He is running up front every week.  He is also cashing a check every weekend too.  I doubt he will take a factory ride.  He has good suspension, KX motors are plenty stout.  I bet he gets free hair cuts too.

This argument is the same every time we have a privateer stepping up in outdoors.  First, some of you guys think the factories have unlimited pots of cash, and they don't.  "Throw him 120K to be an outdoor test rider and then let him choose what races to do"......give him a factory bike now (how much does that cost for a mechanic, parts budget, availability of resources)......dump AC for him when they are basically finishing together and AC is struggling with grip issues.

Second, It's great to root for the underdog and the guy doing it out of his van, but there is a reason Ty is out of his van.  He has had the factory rides and been on other teams and now he is not.  There is always a reason.  Family hard to deal with?  He hard to deal with?  SX skills or desire to race SX?  He was offered an MXGP ride and didn't want to go?

All that said, I think he should be offered a fill in ride for Webb or Barcia, but maybe he has been offered that?  Either way, Teams are not stupid, they have budgets to deal with, and Masterpool needs to prove he can add value to a Team and a few great rides is only part of proving that.

If only there was a series that relied on your MX results and not Supercross to get a factory ride he would shine LOL(MXGP)

Well, Thats the dumbest thing I've heard all weekend. Masterpol is phenomenal outdoors and agree he should have more support. However, Regarding AC In yesterday's mornings Qualifying Adam was having top 4 lap times on most laps. Your statement is ridiculous.  AC busted his ass at Southwick and is making great progress. You can't use a very humid and hot day on a rough track like Southwick to really judge a rider coming back from injuries like AC or Anderson.

Why buy the cow when the milk is free?

Well, somebody is going to step up and pay him at some point which is what should happen.

I wonder how the sportclips sponsorship came about. They used to be a customer of my old company and I visited their HQ. There is a whole collection of the owners cars that’s like a museum so the guy is clearly interested in cars but it’s random they tied in with Masterpool other than the Texas connection.

Hopefully they start showing some racing in the sportclips places on the tvs

If he continues to perform at this level during SMX? He’ll get a ride.

Why does AC NEED to go? He’s a top 10 guy no matter which way you slice it and he’s extremely popular with the fans. Do you think a top 10 guy doesn’t deserve a factory ride?? I for one wishes everyone making mains consistently could be at least factory supported. Now you wanna start pulling support from guys consistently finishing inside the top 10?? Wow.

He's not even close to being even the fastest Kawasaki rider, sorry it hurts your feeling but if you don't produce results they will move on with out him. Being a nice guy and great with the fans is nice but he's not paid to be nice, maybe moving to a smaller team or a new team might give him a new spark but he is injury prone so who knows.

You must be new to the sport, he was the 2019 250 MX Champion, 2nd overall 450 MX in 2020.

And almost 2019 250W champ.

Does not matter, AC has produced very little over the last how many years?  Now he should have and he should be mixing it up for wins but he is so fragile that he is the slowest of the factory guys on most weekends. It was between AC and Craig in SX to see who was the lowest factory rider. But I wouldn't hire Masterpool either if he cant ride SX. Guys like AC and Forkner are running out of time to start winning before other riders move up and take their ride from them.

Sure about that?  Teams have tried paying him and providing support and then they stopped.  Must be a reason other than his ability.

So spend a lot more money?
if you want a guy to race just one series, they don’t do it for a 50% pay cut.
budgets are finite.

Well AC came pretty close to winning a 450 outdoor title a few years ago, and he clearly has potential and speed.

i agree he hasn’t lived up to potential, but guess what….turns out it is really hard.

on the other hand, not only does AC have a high ceiling, his ultimate job is to represent Kawi. Part of that is through results, but there is more to it…media, social media, brand representation at events etc. clearly AC is one of the best when it comes to this stuff.

I think AC sells products more than all but a couple of riders.

You really think Kawis budget of $120k and bonuses is even a problem. That’s pennie’s to them.

Kawi has rows of factory bikes just sitting in Cali.

We are not talking million dollar contracts here.

Haul is bike, pay his transportation and give him bikes and parts. That again, cost very little for Kawi.

When a privateer pulls holeshots and beats your factory riders that’s where you start to loose money from Kawis point of view.

It looks really bad with all Kawis “assets” getting beat. The “CEO” of Kawi is not happy with the racing team, would you as CEO?Board meeting at Kawi HQ Mx team are not fun right now.

I'm curious how it makes them lose money? Ty is riding a Kawasaki as well. To me that should make the bike look great and the riders less prepared.

There’s a reason there is still an active 120 something page thread here dedicated to a 5 year old bike.  When the track gets rough, nothing works better.  Even today.

Lose money by dumping money into a team that gets beat by a privateer on a “stock” bike.

Would you be happy as CEO if that was your results after investment?

Now your stock bike beating Factory’s is great. Your investment in Factory team is not.
