I'm in Canada so shipping would be PIA..........what springs did you exchange in the forks ?
I’m 215, n they went up one size front n rear, they also lowered the rear shock as well.
Eh - cheers and thanks for replying. Do u notice any difference form lowering the rear shock ? what does that fix/change ?
Did it do anything to give you a reason to check? Mine currently has developed a winding noise when letting off throttle. I put in the rekluse torque drive clutch pack and it’s got about 8 hours on it.
In all honesty for me this has been a frustrating bike. Had to update to the Twin Air power flow system because the stock setup was not sealing properly. New clutch before 10 hours, and now it’s developed a winding noise when letting off throttle. All under 20 hours.

A few people have posted about rear shock revalve and adding a spacer to the shock internals ?? can someone tell me why they do it and what to expect for handling etc ?
It calms down bike in fast speed coming into corner where are braking bumps and less weight goes to front. Bike turns great in stock. Soft sand with high speed front end can be too busy. Shortening rear shock too much will kill turning and weight transfer. Personally I love this mod in soft sand but hard pack was happy riding stock shock. There are also longer linkage arms, even adjustable ones.
I just picked up my new 23’er yz450f 🏁
which handlebar should i use ? Im 170 cm heigh. Ive Got renthal twinwall 997 on it now. Which one are you guys running?
Since when does a Yamaha have headshake that it needs to have the shock shortened to chopper the front end? Never heard of a Yamaha having it. Hondas and Suzuki’s YES but not a Yamaha.
If you want to calm it down why not just drop the forks down in the clamps so the fork cap is flush?
Since 2023 model. Same mod done to Hondas for many here also. Forks flush, shorter shock and more offset seems to work sand tracks over here. I would not go that far if running prepped Socal tracks.
Thanks so much - do u have ay idea how much they adding ? a 1mm or 2mm spacer ?
I don't know if any of you guys use Motocal for custom decals (that you can design yourself online kinda like Photoshop) but they finally have templates for this bike as of yesterday.
I have done my own designs for my last couple KX450s with them, and have loved the flexibility. Plus you can order/reorder any single piece(s) in any quantity without needing the whole kit. I've done a custom kit with Backyard Designs but their tool isn't anywhere near as good as Motocal.
Mine is 1,25mm shorter, others been 1mm what i heard. Zeta racing makes adjustable linkage you could test and go back to stock in minutes(Many Honda guys using it). Keefer was running shorter one earlier but havent seen him mentioning it lately on his updates.
Anyone using .53 or .54 fork springs ?
Racetech claims 5.7kg rear spring and .51kg front springs. Has anyone verified these numbers? They are not in the manual or anywhere else except Racetech, I have searched for hours. I'm at 210lbs without gear. The rear is way way soft and the front is soft. I can't afford ENZO right now so doing the springs is my option. Racetech is always too soft on their recommendations for me, I'm just trying to figure it out. Thanks.
For anyone interested, I was finally able to secure enough OEM covers to release the new intake scoop design for the 23+ YZs. I also played around with some print settings and was able to achieve this really cool texture look on the outside, I challenge anyone to see if they can still tell that it’s a 3D printed part now. As always, they’re available with the standard 3DP logo, or can be customized with your name and number.
(Not my bike btw, you guys need to order a lot more intake scoops for me to afford something this nice
)

Does anyone know if there is a stiffer clutch spring plate available? Should be a cheap mod to improve clutch life I guess…
Text me some info... 512.8 20.942 two Kendall

I finally found some of the Gp covers for the 23. Idk why twin air USA said they’re not selling them here. Had to get them from the Netherlands. Should help with the sand here.
Has anyone ran the rekluse torqdrive clutch pack on theirs? Just wondering which setting you used 2 or 3 and how much different the feel and power delivery was. Thanks!
Did the bolt-on GYTR hydraulic clutch ever materialize?
I have it. You’re supposed to measure the plate stack and set accordingly to their specs. Mine ended up on 3 but I decided to try 1 after a few rides. I did one lap on 1 and it was jerky and didn’t disengage correctly. Wouldn’t recommend lol.
It hasn’t ever been in stock yet. I think it’s supposed to be later in the year.
Thanks for the info. It measured out at a 3 was thinking of maybe trying a 2. How did it feel on 3 compared to stock?
Rekluse said there’s no risk trying another setting when I asked. 3 felt pretty normal. I wouldn’t say it was an improvement over stock. 2 could be grabbier but smooth is better to me on a 450.
https://pulpmx.com/2023/07/03/2023-yamaha-yz450f-triple-clamp-mod/
So could an actual engineer explain the theory behind that?
Using shims should give clamp more flexing. I would think that is easiest way to give more flex, next will be milling clamp inside like HRC has done or split clamps like Luxor/Xtrig. Luxor (or someone else) had also plate for split design to make it stiffer.
Testing 1 dollar shims sounds more fun than first getting 800 dollar clams without knowing if that is what you need.
Sure, as a mechanical engineer that also works with triple clamps, I can tell you without a doubt that this has absolutely no effect on feel, flex, or anything else. The only thing it's doing is reducing thread engagement in the clamp, which makes it more likely to strip out the threads. It would honestly be difficult to think of anything any more stupid than this mod.
This.
That's exactly what I was thinking, glad someone else confirmed it.
Seems like it would be the same result as redesigning the clamps with a shoulder/boss that protrudes the same amount as the washer thckness but then using the same length bolt as used in the original design, resulting in less thread engagement which reduces the surface area between the bolt and clamp, increasing the chance of pullout failure (wordy version).
Fail to see how that results in an improvement in feel in the front end.
