I doubt it but he is a strong starter so......He will be a Championship contender and SX is a different beast and can be unforgiving. Take a note from Tomac's season...taking wins when they are there and finishing when they aren't....then that freak damn injury.

Good starts, smooth style, minimal mistakes.  I think he’ll do ok.

I don’t know if he wins it but he will be the first rookie rider since Stewart to be considered a championship contender before a single gate drop.

McGrath, Dungey and Reed rookie years, no one really expected them to do what they did

I don't think he will dominate.

Could he win? 100%.

Having superdooper moto could be an advantage for jett come sx. If he continues his momentum from mx into smx and has some good results it will take away the rookie jitters for sx the following season

I was just reading through the Tom Cruse thread and I am now convinced that he may be the only hope to derail Jett’s perfect outdoor season and could win the SX championship next year.

I like that Tom Cruise movie where he is cocky and wins in the end somehow.

Sx is where we've seen uncharacteristic mistakes from Jett that we don't see outdoors. Dominate? Probably not but if I'm putting money on someone to win, it's him. Especially when he's apparently morphed into Mike Alessi with starts

SX is way more prone to freak issues than MX. Even a mediocre start is much worse since there's less time to make passes. Those factors will make it harder for Jett to simply dominate, even if he ends up being the fastest rider.

I thought he had no chance of dominating the outdoors yet here we are.

Grant Langston had some great sayings about winners always finding a way and the cream rises to the top...he is now 10 from 10 races and we are all still here splitting hairs over hypothetical scenarios of depleted fields etc.

I try to be more observational and not ignore what is right in front of me...he is riding the 450 better than he ever rode a 250 and the way he is riding it will serve him in SX.  I have a feeling he dominates.

The playoffs will tell how he does in SX. They will basically be SX races.

Aren’t Webb, Sexton and few others on new teams next year? Jett will have a ton of laps on the Honda by then, I think he’ll be in it from the beginning.

If he continues to holeshot every race like he is now, maybe? Speed is not an issue, and if he starts in front every race he's going to be extremely difficult to catch and pass.

Unfortunately for him, he's one bad start and a Bambam or Anderson away from supercross being much more difficult than what he's facing this season outdoors.

It depends how quickly and how well Chase adapts to the ktm and how Webb does on the yz. It would not surprise me if Chase loses a little overall speed but gains consistency. Barring injury I think Jett gets 1st or 2nd at the end of the season.

He really has impressed me this MX series. RC said he was special and I see why. I don’t think he will have a problem winning in the stadiums. You guys thinks it will be just as easy to holeshot like he is in MX?

Nothing Jett Lawrence has done in his career tells me he couldn't dominate Supercoss in 2024.   McGrath came in and won the SX title in 1993 and I don't think anyone would have thought he would have the SX career he did.  There are so many variables, but I believe Jett Lawrence is a much more gifted outdoor rider than McGrath was and Jett has been dominant in the 250 Supercross class on his Honda and he seems to be even better on a 450.  Yup! I think he's gonna kill um in 2024.

The margin for error in SX can be much smaller and other people will probably have more for him.

I wouldn't expect total domination like in MX right now, but I can't say I'd be shocked if he did just go out there and clean up.

Depends on who he is racing it seems.
If a privateer is still hammering for second..seems like the factory guys are happy with where they are at.

I don't think he'll dominate. I think he'll be a huge factor in the results, though. Several wins and very likely to be in the hunt at the last race.

Jett is one of those "if he gets the holeshot he probably wins" type of riders, and damn he's been nailing his starts so I wouldn't bet against him.

Except he also wins without the holeshot - e.g. at High Point and MXdN.

Pretty what he means is that if Jett pulls a hole shot, he’s going to win almost every time, not that he can’t win without one. His ability to manage from the front is second to none

That was said assuming a healthy Tomac and Sexton would be in the mix.  Tomac is out and Sexton has been out and probably still isn't fully up to speed. Most season that roll off massive wins or even the select few undefeated seasons are usually padded by a lack of competition.  I don't think that Jett would be 10-0 if Tomac was in the mix and Chase was up to speed.  We'll see how Chase does in the remaining rounds, but it wasn't unreasonable to think that Jett wasn't going to win the outdoors at the time people said it. Nor was it unreasonable to say he would win the outdoors given his talent.

Jett was often running as fast or faster SX times as the 450s on his 250, his technique will have him in the top 5 every week with a bunch of podiums.

I think he will dominate SX and MX for at least the next few years. Sexton may get a few wins here and there but I just don’t see anyone stepping up and challenging him. Eli, Jason, Webb, Roczen are past their prime. I think the best we can hope for is Deegan gets that Pit Bull dog in him like RC and takes it to Jett the way RC did to MC.
