Hoping Jett got a bad start

I don't think we'll really see his 100% even if Chase comes back on top form, he'll back into that championship/bonuses without taking too much risk IMO. The playoffs we might see him really go for it.

It won’t matter. We watch masterpool blits through the pack and get 5th. He blew past everyone except for ap and Jett. And he’s not even close to jetts level. Jett would be leading by lap 10

Early to say, but damn! for his first year in the 450's he's having an unreal season.  If he keeps this up, he might give Honda their 3rd perfect motocross season in history and he's a rookie.  There's a lot of if this and a lot of that could happen and we'll see how he might handle adversity, but right now he looks like he has no weaknesses.  I guess if there's two riders that have the most credibility for recognizing talent it's Ricky Carmichael and Jeremy McGrath and RC says Jett Lawrence is the most skilled rider he's ever seen and that's saying a lot.  Honda has a gold mine on their hands. 

Im hoping he gets a bad start at some point so we can have a little bit of excitement for the top spot. One more race with Jett holeshotting both motos and I’ll be done watching the 450s until something major happens, if something major happens.

That’s all I was hoping for, as soon as he came around the first turn in first, I was pissed as was every single other person watching the race. Clearly, he would’ve destroyed everyone but I still would’ve liked to of seen the passes.

We'll never know for sure but I'm convinced Chase was feeling rough even going into the opener. But similar to RV 2011 post first sx title he wasn't going to make a big deal out if it. Then he of course had that get off in qualifying. Given how close he ran Jett in the second moto I do feel like a 100% would have beaten him - we'll never know now of course and he'll never get the chance to go up against such a raw Jett again.

If he gets a bad start he'll just blow by everyone the first two turns like he did last week at Hangtown. He's out there floating over the entire track while everyone else is digging into it and slamming into everything. It's insane to watch the difference between him and the 2-5 guys.

Exactly. Yes, it's boring. We know he's going to win. But watching him ride is mesmerizing. His technique is so fucking good. He looks so different than every other guy out there. His roll speed, standing, feet on the pegs is crazy. He's just jumping and popping out of ruts, moving forward. While the other guys slam the rut, practically come to a stop, then they accelerate 

Yep, he’s the definition of slow down to go fast. Now I understand why they’ve been saying that for years. His roll/corner speed is where he’s making up the most time on the other guys. Totally different riding style than a RC, JS, or RV just destroying a berm as fast as they can, Jett finesse’s the turn.

I disgaree I hope he gets a good start and continues to wax the field, I love the way he rides, his racecraft is phenomenal

I'm an Aussie, so I want to see a win, but what a snooze fest.

During the motos i was also on my phone watching puppies and kittens frolic.

( ok, not really, it was porn hub).

2023 ain't the season that I hoped for.

I felt similar until I saw him live yesterday.

Seeing him on the track you realize nobody else stands a chance against him.  Its like watching Michael Jordan vs Jerry from the local ymca go one-on-one.  He is visually noticeably faster than every other rider and so much smoother.

After seeing him live, i can't help but root for him to win every race now.  There's no hype about him.  He is a legit phenom and its immediately obvious when you see it up close.

I want to see him get a couple flat tires then maybe there will be a little race for the championship. Otherwise gonna be a snooze fest.

How would Jett go on a 250 2 stroke at the nationals? That would make it more interesting.

He would still win, he is riding at a comfortable pace, taking no risks as he doesn't need to, I think he would make it way through being calculated, just like Hunter.

To run at his speed others need to ride on a edge, and that's what AP and Webb are doing, and making mistakes, Anderson, Barcia, Craig, Bloss, Stuart would be the same.

Sexton, maybe, big maybe as he is still too hit and miss I think, the only hope was the Beast, and he is out unfortunately 

Very smart rider, yes it was a bit boring watching him get away, but still great to watch just him, as RC would say, its poetry in motion.

He’d be having a tougher time in the 250 class right now. He picked the perfect time to move up. We were all so excited to see him, Tomac, and Chase battling out front. I’m not sure the start matters much, although it would be fun to see him move through the pack. He already proved he can beat everyone else by over a minute when he needs to, when being pushed by Chase in moto 2 at Pala. He’s on cruise control for 20-25 minutes right now. Reminds me a lot of Roczen in 16. Got 10 seconds immediately then chilled for the rest of the race at that same gap.

Jett getting a bad start won’t change much. The way he’s riding he’s at least 2 seconds a lap off his top pace. You can see how he dropped 2 seconds mid 2nd moto at Hangtown when AP was getting closer. 15 laps average in a moto, I’m pretty positive he could be 30 seconds farther ahead if he wanted to. The maturity of this 19 year old kid for the last couple years is amazing. When he’s in front he rides just enough to win with a comfortable lead without taking any chances. Thing some legends of our sport could never do. Did I say he’s just 19? Haha. So bad start or not, when you see how Masterpool came back in moto 1 at Thunder Valley after his first turn crash. Put Jett in his position, he wins the race. The only moto so far I’ve seen him make a few mistakes was in Pala in moto 2 when Sexton was within 2 seconds the whole time. He caught his right foot in a rut before a jump and almost nacnac-ed and in the second to last lap where he miss judged his breaking and came to a stop in a rut. Other than that moto, we only saw trail riding Jett so far. Would be great to see what hammering Jett would look like… 

For me every 450 moto, ill watch the start. See Jett holeshot and ill have it going in the background while doing something else. Take a look when I hear frantic commentating. 250s is entertaining.

Watch the pala qualifying lap on replay 15 times.

Im unsure if Dazzys done a really good job, or the other rider coaches have just done a really bad job. But one things for sure - Jett makes ALL OF THEM LOOK LIKE SQUIDS

All I know is that tv doesn't do his skills justice.  

The kid was incredible to watch.  He was absolutely flying and it looked effortless compared to everyone else.

Hunter is the dark horse and Jett is probably holding 4 seconds back.

At Thunder Valley Moto 2 the 250's were a lot faster.

Hunter's average was 2:19.867   Jett: 2.23:567

And just think, 3 short years ago, he was getting his ass handed to him by Ferrandis in the 250 class! He’s come a long ways!
