They gave up doing BNG every year. A new front fender would be pretty extreme for the Suzuki. Where is Sandusky when you need him.

My 19’ was one of the better bikes I’ve owned..
I know back in 2020 they had a new 450 motor with e-start ready to go for production in 21. Or so I was told from a guy in Suzuki that would know. When I asked last year why it didnt get dropped in he made a comment that the bean counters were happy with sales numbers of the current models in this economic, at the time still having supply issues and world wide political climate. I can't imagine they won't throw the new motor in this year.

Suzuki rep told us at our dealer they did have an e-start motor in mind that was to release in 2021 with the same 2018-2023 platform but was halted due to Covid. Now they are working on major improvements with the bike and 2024 will most likely be identical maybe BNG but 2025 we should see an all new 450 from Suzuki and the 250 to follow in 2026. Don't know all the specs but electric start and some weight being shaved off are definite.
Seems dream is pushed further every year.
They should take note what Kawasaki and Yamaha done now.
Every year, the new bike is coming next year. Can anyone remember when they were gonna start making the rm125 again? What about the ally frame RM125?

My question is: where are they developing it? Along side the Triumph?
That must be it since I can't recall seeing one in the GPs or Japan Nationals.
Perhaps Ken and Chiz also have them and they're so well camouflaged no one noticed?
There is only a satellite team in Japan, (team sbe) they don't do development as far as i know. If a new bike is coming, they'll surely send some bikes to US for Chisholm to test the bike before racing it.

Why wouldn't he? The existing bike proved perfectly competitive this season for him, and he performed significantly better on it than on his current-generation (and current champion) Honda CRF.

And makes you wonder what's holding back the MX careers of the people calling it outdated junk and wondering why anyone would buy one, since a modded "junk" Suzuki has now been proven to be capable of a SX win.
He was a better rider on the Honda, it was his health that betrayed him in past years.
... Or he was able to stay healthier on the Zook.
Either way, results say what they do, and he was better, for whatever reason, on the kickstarter.

Hard to go by results. Field is different every year. Eye test he looked a lot better on the Honda, I think anyway.
Kenny's current Suzuki, the bike he actually rides, probably has in much in common with a stock Suzuki RMZ450 as it does with a Hayabusa.

It'll be exactly the same scenario as Eli's YZF, Webb's KTM, Chase's Honda, etc etc etc.. Not one of them is riding a stock, unmodified bike.
"Looked better" for about the first 4 minutes. After that, looked much, much worse.

I’d likely buy a new one if they made one.
Im actually actively looking to buy a good used 2018-2023 RMZ450, just waiting for the right bike/price to pop up. No rush.
Plenty 2022,2023 new model 2 strokes out there to buy. Support the brands that make them. Suzuki ,kawy,honda doesnt care that you are riding 15+ year old bikes. Thats my point.
Just like the leaves growing on the trees and the weather turning warmer, the annual “New RMZ450” discussion pops it timid head out of its nest. If the New RMZ discussion sees it’s shadow, it’ll be 8 years before a new bike shows up, if it doesn’t see it’s shadow it’ll be more like 10 years..
My mistake on not being clear. It is a reply in regards to the post of Roczen winning on an RMZ. Of course all those bikes have swarms of technicians and an unlimited amount of parts, that was my point. Roczen's results don't translate to typical owners. And of course he doesn't care about the shitty resale value either.
It has been posted here a few times, articles from corporate press releases that Suzuki is shifting their focus and FINANCES towards electric. Exactly what that means in terms of current ICE dirt bikes and what is coming in the future, who knows. Maybe they are pausing efforts on their current lineup and are busting their tails to make Stark look like rookies in short time? Time will tell. I should say, I am not on the electric bandwagon.. Just pointing out one fact above.
A very wise man once told me, "Your customers will accept almost anything from you - except neglect." Suzuki seems like they want to test the legitimacy of that theory. It's a bitter pill to swallow for any of us Suzuki-worshippers who grew up in the 70s, a time when a single RA works bike spy photograph had the power to upend the whole sport, a time when they cared so much and had so much passion and drive they'd sometimes introduce a new model MID-year. It would be weird to see them go, but at this point, maybe it would be for the better. Their apathy is like a neon sign at midnight, and given their history? - I'll put it this way: they fell from the loftiest height imaginable.
Maybe I am in the minority in this, but we are now at a point of having at least 4 brands with 450 MSRP's over $10k and I do think it would be wise of Suzuki to really think hard about being the one brand to stay around the $9k range. We aren't looking for Suzuki to reinvent the wheel at all and I certainly don't need them to go to E-start. Maybe some small engine updates or a switch to KYB and some body work changes would be totally fine in my eyes. Become the affordable brand that still puts in some effort every couple years with a new look and seriously become the brand that makes this sport more affordable for newer riders because $10k-$11.5k msrp's are not going to be bringing new people in to buy new bikes.
Yea ....this while trend of 450 dirtbikes $10,500 and up is ridiculous. I can't believe people can justify paying that much for a dirtbike even if they have the money to do so....its too much, especially if they finance it....yikes!
It makes used bike prices absurd too!
