Who is going to stop Hunter

After round 1, its clear Hunter has the race pace, consistency, and the starts for the most part dialed. But who do yall think will step up to the plate to mount a serious challenge for Hunter. Cooper was blazing fast but he just can't seem to win if he doesn't get the start. Vialle looked decent but just a notch below speedwise. RJ was fast but as always very inconsistent, same goes for Vohland. Deegan looked really good but I'm not sure he has it just yet to be a title contender, but I defo see him winning a few motos.

Imo, despite the lackluster results it looked like Shimoda had the most race pace but just got unlucky today with a bad start in second moto and the lapper on moto 1.

Shimoda.

Vialle will just get faster, great starter.

yeah definitely not cooper he has such a bad reputation with starts so I'm sure he has no chance after this high des California track.... please sense my sarcasm. I think your Lawrence sunglasses might be on inside just a touch Wink

Cooper with a holeshot, Hampshire without his random wrecks/horrible starts, Shimoda with the rare top 5 start... but I don't think any of those scenarios will happen consistently enough to keep Hunter from winning the title.

Shimoda showed in the first moto that he can run Hunter's pace (them and Deegan were easily the 3 fastest towards the end), and he went from starting outside the top 20 to finishing 6th in the second moto on a very one-lined track. Hunter was impressive and will be a massive contender, but I don't see any reason to count Jo out yet.

Looked to me like there are a few guys willing to beat hunter. I mean, he went 3-1. It’s not like he just dominated winning by 20 seconds both motos. He very easily could have been a 5-1 or worse. The 250 class is going to be fun

I've always found the 250 class to be a little more exciting with the inconsistencies of up and coming riders. As for who can challenge Hunter, I think we saw today Shimoda has speed, as does Hampshire and maybe even deegan can throw it in there. Vialle will continue to improve throughout the season too.

Theres a plethora of guys who can finish anywhere from 1-12, but I do think Hunter will be the most consistent guy and the those guys behind him will have some “1-11” type of rides like we saw today from RJ and Vohland.  They will all be taking points off each other while Hunter is consistently on the box.

The same people I would've said before the day started, Shimoda and Cooper.

I 100% believe Shimoda is just as fast as Hunter.

Really great ride by Deegan. I had him and Shimoda for the picks amongst friends. I would have take Hunter and Deegan had the chance.

The kid is in great shape and has the want to to be great. Overall I was impressed with the PC rookies, Vialle, and some others.

True, but Hunter was around 10th after the first lap & he worked his way to the front.

I would agree. But I feel Jo lacks the alpha mentally.

That doesn't mean he cannot win.

But he will lose in a battle.

Do you need more fishing line?

From today we can see there are six potential winners this season.

Hunter looks the man, but anything can change in a second.

Hampshire, cooper, can be just as fast every week.  But they either don't start well or cash a bunch also.  Hunter will likely win going away.

A bunch of teenagers?

RJ is 27

Cooper is 25

Jo  is 21

Vialle is 22

Maximus is 20

Deegan was the only teenager inside the top 10
