I think you have to be pretty deep down the rabbit hole to be upset about Matthes and claimgate. I doubt they know anything about who he interviewed too friendly. Plus it seems like all the industry bros think Brennan was in the wrong somehow as well.

I'm going to go out on a limb here. Steve has the largest audience outside of race broadcasts. The ultimate job of a pro racer is selling merchandise. So I assume you must manage that part of your business if you are a top racer. It is interesting that Steve is not blowing them up. That is his MO in the past. Both sides are managing what ever the situation is.
I for one enjoy most of his content. I also read stories on vital and other outlets. I am not a fan of some of the other podcasts and I don't watch vlogs. I am of the demographic that can afford toys and buy things. Point being Steve reaches the audience that buys stuff,
so you manage that relationship.

but Matthes /PULPMX fills a media void in the promotion of our sport and should be supported by the riders where possible.

When I think about all the hype around Jett Lawrence, it's because most people interested in SX/MX arn't stupid, they recognize special talent that comes around every so once in a while. Lackey, Hannah, Bailey, McGrath, RC, RV and Bubba and others had extreme speed that put them head and heels above the rest. Everyone that qualifies for a SX or MX main is in a upper echelon of dirt bike riders, but then there are the freaks that has special abilities and do things that don't seem possible. Will Jett be one of those legends, I've seen enough to make me think that there's something about this kid that's going to make him one of the greats, but there's always that unknown factor, but I'm certainly stoked to see him race the 450 MX series. I think having Hunter Lawrence as a team mate is just an added bonus and will benefit Jett. Pulp's gonna need the Lawrence brothers a lot more than the Lawrence brothers needing Pulp.

The riders need to remember where ultimately their salary comes from.
If the riders don’t give the fans what they want, fans might just stop buying Alpinestar, Red Bull, Honda, etc etc etc… if the fans stop buying into ‘Lawrence’ then they don’t have a job. The Lawrence’s are currently the ‘hot news’, but rest assured there will be another phenomena or fan favourite coming through soon. Deegan is the the biggest threat to the ‘Golden boy’ throne & if he gives the media & fans exactly what they want he steals the limelight. Do you think Honda/Red Bull will be happy with that?

I have no idea about riders obligations regarding PR however if Honda was concerned about PR for their athletes they would be pushing Chase to get to a spot where Hunter and Jett are which isn't happening is it? I have no idea about Red Bull and what they demand.
From what I've seen out of the Lawerences as soon as they entered the AMA they did a bunch of self promotion to secure their income and future in case they get injured, I don't think factory teams are chasing "golden boy" title hype as you suggest, Lawerences have already established their presence Jett has a donut company ffs, this is just temporary afterall they will be back in the media I would assume there is a big focus on Jett fighting for the title I would imagine that is their primary goal rather than some limelight.
They've done their groundwork for their brand they danced whenever told for the past 3 years they're good, The biggest draw is their talent which is undeniable which the reason why we tune in every week to see the showcase the best talent, Jett has so much talent when it's said and done for his career his haters will become fans.
If Redbull and Honda weren't happy with the break from the media you would see them back in the media asap.

Everyone saying Steve needs them more than they need him. You think having Jett on Pulp is going to generate life changing revenue for Steve? He's had plenty of the top guys over the years that don't like him and he's been just fine. And for the guy asking about payment, no other professional athletes get paid for interviews.
