So Sexton's f' ups were "brain farts" and not the Honda but with Coop's "brain fart" it was the KTM and not his own mistake? Yeah, that makes perfect sense lol.
As for becoming physically sick because of the thought of Sexton riding orange next year might warrant for some therapy dude. That's not a healthy mental state of mind to be walking around with.
How could Chase ride the KTM when he is under contract with Honda?
Isn't that a conflict of interest?
Just my opinion, as I have ZERO inside knowledge. I wouldn't think this changes anything as far as who goes where for 2024. I assume that Jett and Hunter will be full time 450 class for 2024 with HRC. HRC will field Shimoda and Hymas on the 250's. Chase goes to KTM. I would assume it is too late in the game for HRC to change course and then have to field 3 full time 450 spots. I also think Chase wants to be the "A" rider on whatever team he goes to. Given that idea, KTM is probably a done deal. Eli retires from AMA racing, maybe does WSX instead (given the Achilles injury would put him out until about this time next year). The most logical deal for Star would be to sign Webb, and I would guess they sign Justin Cooper alongside him for full time 450's. As far as Ferrandis, the second spot at KTM seems probable (rumor is he wants off the Yamaha). Gas Gas has signed Barcia for 2 more years. It would make sense for the KTM group to put AP7 on a second Gas Gas 450 if Ferrandis goes to KTM. Rockstar Husky has Malcolm and Craig signed for 2024, no change there. Kawi has AC for at least another couple years. I assume that Anderson signs a one year extension and stays at Kawi for '24, then leaves for Triumph in 2025 to reunite with Bobby Hewitt. Roczen stays put with the Pipes group.

yeah that seems a bit dodgy to me..
No one is going to sign a contract without riding the bike first, All these guys who want to switch teams ride the bikes before they sign and its kept on the low down.
Happens all the time.
Remember a couple years ago all the hype on Kawis multiple handlebar position clamp that KTM started doing *checks notes* 25 years ago.
With all the talk of Chase going from Honda to KTM, what about going from Monster to RedBull? Do you think Monster would sweeten the deal for Chase to stay at HRC and remain a Monster athlete? Seems like Honda would want the #1 plate on their bike next year, and Monster would want their logo associated with it.
Surprised you didn't start with the magic button,
You can meet and offer someone a contract at anytime with a date on it. Most of the big names have a new contract signed buy March or April.
Ken signed a one year deal for 2016 with RCH while he had a signed letter of intent with Honda for 2017. There is a back story, but you get what I’m saying.
KTM can talk to anyone they want at any time and offer a contract, but a rider can’t sign it until there is a certain amount of time left on his current contract. Chase has had a contract in hand for over a year, but wasn’t able to sign it until March-April.
The same way most other rider do, they set up a private track and go test for a day. Or they go riding with a team guy and he rides his bike.
Stewy tested the Yamaha for weeks at a private track in Bakersfield while he was still riding a Kawasaki outdoors.
Stewy wasn’t under any contract when that happened. He was using Honda against Kawasaki. Kawasaki wanted to put Stewy under the PC banner, the old man didn’t like that idea, so they used Honda to get him in the factory rig.
Ah, OK. I always thought it was after he'd already gone pro.
That’s could explain why chase looked pissed after finding out he’s the champ.
A good friend that knows some of the folks involved in this madness informed me that…
Jett & Hunter will -both- be on HRC 450s at A1 in 2024 & Shimoda will be on a 250.
Hymas on 250 as well.

How soon do you guys think Star Yamaha is expecting a decision from Eli on whether he is going to race in 2024 or not? Or how long do you think they're willing to wait?
If Eli does decide to race, that would take a big chunk out of the budget to go after other riders. However, if they wait too long the other riders may have already committed to another team
I feel like the team may be in limbo waiting to hear what Eli's decision is and if they wait too long they may miss out on other opportunities.
I have asked this before on the forum and didn’t get a straight answer- but, WHO was the first to report ‘Chase to KTM’ ?
I know all the media outlets have reported it now, but I’m interested in who said it first, and when, if anyone can help?
He Chase never looks happy with Honda personal around him. Too corporate? Or deal is done.
I hope he stays
"So Sexton's f' ups were "brain farts" and not the Honda but with Coop's "brain fart" it was the KTM and not his own mistake? Yeah, that makes perfect sense lol." - No, it makes no sense and that's not what I stated nor implied.
"As for becoming physically sick because of the thought of Sexton riding orange next year might warrant for some therapy dude. That's not a healthy mental state of mind to be walking around with." - Clearly you are unfamiliar with hyperbole.
So does anyone know what the bonus for bringing a #1 plate to a new team is.
Nothing. I would say leverage but his deal has been “done” for months.
Maybe that’s what was bugging him on the Denver podium.. thinking about how much more he could have gotten after pulling an SX title?
It’s certainly not unprecedented at Honda. Stanton and Bayle, then eventually McGrath adding to the roster, Honda has been in this predicament a few times. Obviously in the mid to late 80’s also.
Something about it does seem implausible, but as a few have already pointed out, having so many dominant riders after a two decade’s dry spell might actually work. Talk about cementing Honda as the powerhouse team of the sport.
100% there is a kicker in the KTM contract that pays him more money if he brings a #1 plate over to the team.
Definition of Hyperbole- See tuttle425 post on Vital MX lol.
Then I'm sure there is a clause in the Honda contract that says.....'but if you win the title ....
except, according to a few, the deal is already done, so Honda cannot stop him going to KTM whether they want to or not
