I agree with you, the ones we tried to get help from at 545am looking for our FCA group and LOT A looked at us like we were crazy. The early race day screwed up everything IMO, practice starting at 7am is stupid. I'm sure some Feld dude that's smarter than everyone else made the call but the staff in and around the stadium were ill prepared. We tried getting help from a man and woman that worked for the stadium trying to find our group and they both told us they didn't know what we were talking about. Then 10mins later they were assisting opening the gate our FCA group was supposed to go in and completely ignored us. I've been to atlanta over 25 times in my life and I've never seen such disorganization as what we saw in nashville.
There's a bus system, but that's it. In hindsight I should have tried it out. At the end of the day, besides spending extra time in the car, we still got to do what we wanted at FanFest so it didn't really hamper the day.
Yeah I wish it was a night race. Granted, I took a five year old so it was easier on her not being out until late.
Well what's the verdict here? Is the OP a mouth breathing twit or an mx fan with valid complaints. Can someone sum it up for a slow old man like me?

Not sure what's so hard for you to understand given the photo evidence posted here, they had half the stadium blocked off. I'm not talking about the upper levels I'm talking about literally half the entire stadium. IDK if Feld is to blame or the stadium folks, the ushers I saw telling people they couldn't go past the ribbon to the other side were stadium employees. People finally said F this and went through banners and ran around far enough on the lower levels from the ushers they knew they wouldn't chase them.
Me and my family could have actually gotten in free had we known better. No one ever checked our tickets, we gave an empty monster can to get in the pits and then walked right in the stadium. No one ever stopped us. Like I mentioned in another thread I think the whole deal was very poorly organized I've never seen the lack of organization at other SX's in my life.
1000% I was there and will NEVER go back. I can say that now that I have been to Nashville but 900 miles and probably $1800 total for 4 hours of moto just isn't worth it. Atlanta was good, I went there 2 weeks ago and we got in and out better and the track was way better as far as fans.
Ford Field in Detroit does the same thing every year. You can only sit in the lower level half way around the stadium. The entire upper deck is closed as well. About 2 hours before the night program they open everything up.
Oh man just read this now.
This coming from the same person that completely wigged out over Hunter's phone bill analogy.
Not this bunch.
Half the stadium has been blocked off for practice/qualifying for many many years. (Atleast 30) Only the bottom section of one side is typically open for practice/qualifying and during that time it’s OPEN SEATING. FELD didn’t screw anyone.
I have been attending SX Races since 1990 when I wrenching on the circuit. I wasn't happy about the day race and if I wasn't local I would not have went. I'm not understanding why Atlanta or Nashville were both day races?
With that said Nashville was like any other SX. Stevie Wonder could see there were numerous people watching and plenty of open seats on the opposite side. No one really goes to their assigned seats until the main event is about to start. People just bounce around, socialize and watch from different areas.
Atlanta and Nashville were day races because NBC was televising them on the mother station I’m guessing.
That's "summing it up"?
Afuckingmazing...
I've been going to races since 92. It has always been open seating until the night show... WTF is so hard about explaining this to someone who claims you are in "their seat"? Get an usher if you are that afraid to explain how the system works... You act as though someone is getting murdered, for sitting in what they perceive is "their seats". I was there. I had ZERO ISSUES watching practice.
I actually have had people ask me to move during qualifying because I’m “in their seat” instead of just having a seat right next to me. I’m convinced that for at least half of the stadium it’s their first race.
I have been to many supercross races at different stadiums, and every stadium runs it a little differently. usually for practice and qualifying its sit where ever you want in the lower level, I cant recall if other stadiums open their upper levels for practice, but I doubt they do. The supercross experience varies from stadium to stadium, some are way better then others.
Just a broader question, not so concerned about SX venue policy, etc:
Can anybody think of any other professional sporting event that charges fans to enter the stadium, allows them in, runs a portion of the competition in the stadium at that time, but does not allow fans to take their seats?
Good points
Pit Row
In my almost 30 years of going to Supercross at many different stadiums, practice is always open seating and not every section is open.
Pretty common for Motorsports to allow people to buy general admission to see practice and or qualifying but not have every viewing section open. I’ve been to F1 and Indycar events that did this.
What is the start time on the SX ticket?
I was there. We had access to our seats in 114. But that was the side they had open. Most of the people who got in just walked over the banner and to that side of the stadium, not that big of a deal. They can't kick you out for sitting in a stadium when you paid for the ticket. Usually the stadium blocks off sections for concessions not being open or ready yet on that side. US Bank Stadium did the same thing to us last year. Club level sections were blocked off until the night show. I'd say the biggest problem was they never watered the track after the LCQ's. They could have easily laid down a little water to soak into that hard base with the Sun beating on it. And still be fine for the races. Wouldn't have made grease at all.
