AMA / FELD self fabricated that mud race.

With obvious imminent bad weather coming in. Why didn't they speed up the show at all? There was plenty of time to run races before the lightning or rain showed up. It seems very suspicious that the AMA / Feld wanted a mud race to create drama for the series. I've never seen them drag their feet so hard to make sure the storm got to the stadium before the mains. I've seriously never seen them waste so much time in between races when they should be in a hurry to get the racing in. Anyone else think it was very suspicious?

The OP is right. The entire plan was found on the software inside Dominion voting machines.  Hunter (the other Hunter) was the mastermind.

Or, maybe Feld and its TV partners, along with all of their advertisers, actually wanted the big ratings drop that comes when there's a long delay in a sports program, especially late at night. Even I can't come up with a conspiracy to explain that one.

People fume if you suggest that anything happens behind the scenes anymore.. Why is it so far fetched to think that the executives and managers didn't see an opportunity to throw some shock factor into the series and just let the night play out? Why is that a tin foil hat moment? In my career I weigh options in real time and decide to buy/sell and go/no-go and those guys do too.

Or, maybe the tickets are bought and paid for with no refunds and they saw all of the future value the footage and press content from holding a mud race can bring. Do you think in 3D or is it pretty rigid upstairs lol? It's been up for about a day and a half now with similar attention to something that's been up for a week. Also, i don't think subscription services like peacock make money on "ratings" anymore.

It did seems like there was no sense of urgency to get thing in before the rain..but they have a schedule to follow so it wasn’t fabricated..

That being said, I was initially bummed it was going to be a mudder, but watching those guys clear triples in the mud was f-ing unreal and it turned out to be a great race.

Just think, those guys were faster on that mud track than anyone on VitalMx would be riding it dry..

Except they didn’t drag their feet. They had a schedule to follow and then when it became clear that the storm was going to hit before the mains were completed, they had to provide enough time for the tens of thousands of people in the stands to get in shelter before the storm hit.

The east/west shootouts always get more attention, then add in they have been promoting the hell out of the Lawrence brothers race for weeks. I don't think this is the round that FELD would want a mudder where the average donut eating fan can't tell who is who on the track.

AMA/FELD called in a favor from Zuul for lightening strikes so they could delay the mains.

Whenever everything is a conspiracy theory, it’s hard to take anything seriously

I swear someone could sneeze on a broadcast and some moron would have a theory as to why

It’s not a bad concept for FELD to incorporate more time agility into their program. I’m in favor of moving half the races to earlier in the day, but in a case like NJ, it would be a cool protocol.

Also plausible. Probably just sticking to the schedule honestly. These events require massive amounts of planning and execution, schedules are valuable.. My point was/is to call this a conspiracy just shows a major lack of critical thought. There are up-sides to things like this and I can promise you someone in authority did weigh the options. I'm sure I'm just a nutso thoughLaughing

I didn't look at the forecast, but if it was calling for thunderstorms and significant rain they could have skipped a practice session, shortened track maintenance/ or the "Media Day" at 1-2:15 PM. The racing could still happen on Peacock at it's normal time on tape delay, that is if it was on NBC or whatever live. Even if I saw it on Peacock at its normal time and it was a 1-1.5 hour tape delay it wouldn't bother me.

That said, my boy made out well, so Idc either way. I think Eli probably would have done worse had it not been muddy since we had a little banged up.

I dunno, it seems pretty suspicious they followed the exact same schedule they have for decades... obviously the simplest explanation is they've been planning this night and the master plan finally came to fruition! #believewhatyousee

You can't run a live event earlier than scheduled, you can delay it but you can't run it early, ticket-holders would miss it and cause way more of a headache than the rain delay.
