I think there was a good amount of transponder issues cause the last couple laps of live timing are pretty far off from the finishing results. Maybe the crew in the booth was warned they weren't really sure who was in the top ten or not.

Was a good day for Justin Hill too. Great story this year with the brothers.

Great night of racing last night, and particularly for Moranz. He'll remember this one forever.

Yessir,  makes it good.

Even with the Mud, this should give Moranz just a tad more confidence for where he feels he belongs.  Obviously he might carry a little doubt since it was raining, but hell.  Top 10 is top 10 and the conditions were the same for everyone..  Other than barcia and anstie lol!  The made it seem damn dry!!

But yeah this should help Ryans overall confidence bringing it to an all time high for the remainder of the series.

I smell a dry track, 11th place before end of season.  Maybe 10th! that would be legit!

I wouldn’t call mud an equalizer. It’s more like who has the best luck. There is for sure some skill involved. But also a bunch more luck (bad and good).

I raced for years. And have a son that’s racing pro now. So about 40 years!! You are right, that’s been said for years, doesn’t mean I have to agree with it. Just sayin there is less skill and more luck involved in a mud race.

This was my first super mud race as a fan of the sport for two seasons, I don't count MXON 2022 because it wasn't really a mud race. Mud was the equalizer and i wish Josh Hill did better for my pulp team but this delayed race saved eli. If it was the normal night show I would think we would see him off the podium. Can't wait for the vlog from moranz, so stoked for him. I thought Haiden would do better than he did but for his first sx mud race he did ok. Sorry for the little ramble on but just sharing my thoughts.

That was an almost perfect type of mud race last night.  Many of the jumps were still doable for the most talented guys, so you still got that action.  If added an element of difficulty, yet the lap times were not ridiculously slow due to the conditions.  I don't care for the mud races where the conditions are so bad nobody can jump a single obstacle and guys are getting stuck in 3 foot deep ruts blowing up their bikes.  Seeing guys still hitting the finish line jump, triples, and skimming whoops in those conditions was amazing to see.  And anyone who thinks that's more luck that skill is talking out of their ass.  If its not skill, then why do the same main riders who do well in mud almost always do well in mud?  That's because they grew up riding in the muddy conditions and have developed that skill compared to the kids who grew up in Cali riding dry hammered tracks.  Very much skill involved with riding mudders.  Yes, there is some luck that happens with respect to bikes not blowing up and potential carnage on the start.  Outside of that, its very much skill driven.

Ehhh somewhat. Not to take anything away from the winners but, Jett was motoring toward the front and simply ran out of time. Eli and Hunter were smooth and quick and not taking any chances. Chase was fast until he got his front taken out then was caked in mud and had a huge gap. I’m guessing Webb was out of his element since I think tall guys have an advantage in the mud where they can dab easier and paddle when needed. The cream was rising to the top as usual.

Barcia saw his chance for a win and clearly didn’t give a shit what he had to do. He really had nothing to lose and $100k to gain. Max had a great start, rode smart and smooth and has way more mud racing experience than most. Haven’t made up my mind about RJ there whether it was funny or attempted murder LOL. He looked like a jet ski trying to make the turn.

Haiden was super fast in the mud. He had a bad start and caught up to Hunter then crashed.

I wonder if the crash between Miller & Yoder that let Schwartz into the 250 main didnt have something to do with it? Wasn't it about then they started having timing issues? Then the rain came and...

Back on topic, I am happy to see Kevin get that 7th place and he is starting to get more and more exposure for himself. He appears to be in my eyes, on a similar path(but not as good results wise) to Weston Peick. Being able to transition from a full privateer to a guy who could possibly be looked at for a decent ride.  Let's see if he can get off of the island.  I am rooting for him

That's exactly what the saying is referring to - mud equalies the skill level.

Mud or not, Moranz got seventh in a 450 main, suck it.

I always thought it referred to equipment, factory bikes don't really matter in the slop, hence why a lot of guys choose to ride practice bikes in nasty races. It's all just mud riding skills, and the luck of not getting tangled up in someone else's carnage.

Good to know. Next time I know there's a mud sx race happening I might try my luck qualifying for one. Hell, if I'm on a lucky streak that day I might even top 5.

Props to Kevin for a great ride! He’s been improving all year. I’d love to see Rockstar Husky put him on their 450 for outdoors since Craig is out…

Agreed, if they would’ve had to race the heats and then mains in that it would’ve been a mess. I think they could’ve got going sooner and had less downtime and got it in before the rain but it turned out better than I expected

The issue is that Moranz is a much better SX rider than MX at this point. I think it's crazy that someone from WSX hasn't snatched him up yet.
