My take is that 250 West isn't boring just because Jett is that much better than everyone else, it's because he's that much better than Hampshire, who's that much better than McAdoo, who's that much better than everyone else. In my opinion the gap between Jett and the rest of the field on the west is pretty much the same as the gap between Hunter and everyone else on the east, there's just more guys in the East who can fight for podiums since there isn't as big a gap between them all.

He'll qualify but he'll be behind guys like Anderson, Webb, Roczen, etc. when it comes to the SMX championship at the end of the year since he'll only have 450 MX points and most guys will have 450 SX and MX points.

He will (barring an injury) earn enough points racing outdoors to qualify for the 450 SMX races. I doubt he will drop down to race the 250 SMX after a full summer in the 450. Seems counter productive.
the SMX races provide a different points structure though so someone starting out behind can easily
win the championship if they finish up front since the points increase each round.
