How binding is a letter of intent? My guess is pretty rock solid so yes, he's on to the orange brigade.
I don’t think it’s an iron clad commitment.
Until his name is on a contract he isn't anywhere. Letter of intent is like a promise ring or a verbal commitment. At that moment he wanted to move, but things can change. But it makes everyone "feel" good
Interesting…he couldn’t comment on this subject…hmmmm…
If he’d signed with Honda(extended his commitment with them), he’d have no reason for the “no comment” approach. Right?

True, but how many riders re-sign this early? It happens, but in a contract year they usually don't until middle of outdoors or later. It certainly seems like a letter of intent to KTM was signed, but nothing 100% confirmed yet. It's entertaining though for sure.
You can't say that without seeing the contract and exact verbiage.
I’d like to see him on the Husqvarna.
Saying nothing about it or being noncommittal probably allows him to keep negotiating leverage on his side until he makes his final decision. That assumes he had not signed with anyone at that point, which I think he likely hadn't.
KTM group considers the pumpkin the golden goose, I doubt you'll see a higher profile rider on the white bike or red bike than the orange one.
I hope he doesn't sign with KTM. Their team system seems to have run it's course, with DeCoster and Harrison's methods not keeping with the times. From the chaos of their amateur program, apparent mishandling of the Dungey/Carioli summer, to the "marriage" to Aldon Baker's program, it seems an archaic program to the likes of a Star Yamaha or even Honda's own systems now in place. Got to change with the times.
When was Honda's last big bike championship in the states?
Hopefully, he stays where he is, he looks comfortable...
Wouldn't honda throw as much at him to keep little Lawrence and him on the same team? Like the poster before It's a long long time since honda has won in the big bike class
Thinking maybe he waits to see how him and the jet show get along battle this summer. If Jet starts beating him a lot and there's tension or he starts playing second fiddle he's gone. It'll be interesting to see how it plays out.
Who is the rapist and rapee in this situation?
An LOI is a document that sets parameters of the agreement between the parties, it is not a legally binding agreement.
Would it be that crazy to see him on the other red bike? And Barcia looking for a ride? I'm sure GasGas has the budget set aside for a really big name, and they only have 3 riders total. (1) 450 and (2) 250. Compared to most 250 teams with 5-6 riders and the average 450 team with 2 riders. They have massive room to grow.
I shouldn’t say this but I am. Sexton has,“the Jett” on his mind. So he is signing with ktm, going to the bakers factory to become a orange brigade soldier for captain Decoster.
I’m rooting for the Jett in this fight cheers to some epic battles tho if everything aligns.
So does this mean the Honda 450 team will be the Lawrence brothers?
Then - does Honda farm out the 250 program again? Moto concepts??
Pit Row
Based on his latest comments about the Honda, I would say he will not be riding a red Japanese bike next year lol.

I can't believe how much hope Honda is putting into Jett alone. Then his brother kind of tags along for the contract signing. Hunter is very fast, don't get me wrong. At times he's faster than Jett. But Honda is basically looking at Jett alone thinking they can make a McGrath or Carmichael type of winner out of him.. Its not going to happen. He's going to find out this summer how hard he has to ride that 450 to try and get wins.
Trying not to turn this thread into a Jett thread (and I'm not a Jett nut gobbler FYI) but I do believe he will be very successful on a 450. It just might take a year or so...
Did you miss des nations?
Jett has a better 250 resume than Sexton did when he moved up.
So, why wouldn't Honda focus on him when Sexton is looking to go elsewhere? There's not a better prospect for the gig than Jett, and they are already heavily invested in him. Besides, he's signed through 2025, so he'll need to ride the 450 anyway.
That doesn't mean he'll pan out on the 450, but it's easy to see why they're going all in on him.
Assuming this isn't a rhetorical question, RC in 2004 outdoors, the only US championship the CRF450 has ever won.
Didnt Hunter mention he is expected to move up tp 450's next year as well.
Id say Lawrence brothers 450 with Chance on the 250
I know that his spokesperson said he could not sign a contract until well into 2023 per his Honda contract. So likely not too binding
I think Hunter is doing another year of 250.
I do not think it matters when Honda had their last championship, things have not gone their way rider wise with injuries or simply better riders on other brands, Honda has had a golden history of having the best riders (using their big chequebooks) back in the days gone past, but these days other teams throw a lot more money at the best riders. I am willing to bet that KTM stump up a lot more money than Honda will.
It is really that simple isnt it?
also, one BIG factor in Star's success with Eli is their suspension guy
Geico hired Hunter and Jett tagged along. Things have changed a bit since then but Hunter was also the prospect and his little brother came with him. I'd expect Hunter to show some people what he's made of this season and keep building.
In the business world, an LOI is pretty much like pissing in the wind..
Means nothing.
