I certainly was never one of the guys calling for a Craig win this year, but I thought he was capable of 6-9 this year. Is he recovering from an injury, or is this who he is with this team on this bike?
He was as fast as the top 450 guys on his 250 so he should be capable of doing it on his 450. I know it doesnt directly translate over and it takes some time but the speed/talent is there.
Who ???
That’s what I’m thinking. I wonder if he isn’t getting along with the bike.
Hes racing the fastest guys in the world 🤷🏼

Big difference between the 250s and 450s. Lap time comparisons mean nothing.
Yes. He’s never really beat anyone ahead of him. Why would all of a sudden he start beating them now?
Christian Craig, he races supercross, motocross, and supermotocross.
edit: guess you guys missed the sarcasm, lol
You forget track conditions. The worst the 250 track gets, is about the best the 450 track gets, besides a few touch ups.
He would have only been able to stay in 250 for this year to defend his title before being forced to move up.
Jett also has to move up after this year because of his title last year.
He’s just facing a little adversity…..
I think he just moved up too early. He needed one more year to develop in the 250 class even though he had to overcome all that adversity of having to ride a 250 even though the 450 “suits his style”
swoon
Yeah, I think there's more to it. A change of scenery also makes it easy to forget how good you were on the other machine too. Definitely a different guy, I hope he turns it around. unlike the rest of the vital hivemind I really like the guy alot.
I knew I'd heard that name before.
🙄
I expected flashes of speed and a run in the top 5-7 on occasion and 7-10 mostly... But he doesn't seem nearly as quick on the Husky as he was on the Yam...
His last 3 seasons on the 450 outdoors are final points finishes of 5-6-6... Against basically these same guys. It's not like he doesn't have 450 experience. Hell in 2018 he had 2 - 4th place finishes in 450 SX.
Yeah I'm biased against Austrian bikes but it's kind of hard not to wonder what happened.. it's not like the switch to fox gear is what's putting him 3 seconds a lap slower than before.
In this field someone has to be 10-12. When you look at the 6-9 guys…they’re good…...I think he could get top 5 with a good start but when you’re getting 10-12 that’s who you are until you’re not.
No.
Starts have been horrible. Compounded by the big one at A1 in the last practice.
he has the speed, he’ll get up there.
He’s struggling finding a setting he likes per his post race interview.

I didn't think he'd be a podium guy or a race winner, but I did think he'd be a solid 5-8 type of guy, at least in supercross. He was almost a lock for top 10 in 450 outdoors last year, and he's always been a more natural SX rider so I thought we'd see him hanging out just outside the top 5. Must not be feeling it so far.
The 450 class is a different animal.
Not gelling with the bike
Never raced a steel frame before.....
Would've been better on Blue or Red.
Flashback 2017-2018 - Is Cooper Webb just a 10-12 guy.....
Give him a break guys he has the weight of the world on his shoulders
Yup, why don't people get this. His 250 times on a different track against half the 250 field mean zilch. He's going up against the baddest sx riders on the planet
I hate when people say this. It’s a lot easier going fast on a lighter, less horsepower bike on a smoother track.
Christian was a lifer 250 guy who had one really good year, going up against seasoned 450 guys all with multiple 250 titles. Look at Nichols, he was faster than Craig during their 250 careers, he’s in the same boat.
He's 31 now. Not many riders are getting better or even holding ground at this age. His reaction time is slowing, and pain from injuries is adding up.
And in 2018, he got 4th at the last two races when injuries had depleted the field, and was finishing among the same level rider as now.
His raced sx 450 in previous years n got few top 5.
New bike and probably the pressure his putting on himself.
I'd expect him to be lot better second half of sx season.
Tho I don't expect him to win, but maybe a podium
