That is not spring stiff that is compression damping stiff. Spring is set for his weight compression damping is set for his speed. 

This is what I was going to say too. Low speed compression dialed way up for pounding hammered SX tracks

Somebody that literally every motorcycle fan outside the Pulp world has heard of. 

The Pulp Show fan base is quite interesting… a group where the majority doesn’t know or care about someone who has won the most prestigious two wheeled world championship on the planet, yet they get super excited over some random minor league baseball player who happens to be friends with a MX/SX star. 

Some French hypebeast that is ok at riding prototypes relatively quickly and his trusty side kick/gal Friday Tom.

I'd bet good money if you went to any local MX Track in America and lined up 100 people that it'd be 50/50 at best.

I've been into motorcycle racing for over 30 years, I have never watched a single MotoGP race and outside of Valentino Rossi and Nicky Hayden I don't think I could name a single MotoGP Champion.

Some of ya'll are pretty out of touch with who the average moto fan is.

I’m sure if I rode that at my usual speed, it would feel like there was just a steel rod back there instead of a shock. 

Motocross fans are a lot more in tune with world wide motorcycle racing than the average motorcycle owner/fan as well. Those 50/50 odds would get cut in half for the average motorcycle owner/fan…I’m sure a lot of motorcycle owners don’t even realize MotoGP exists let alone who a (so far) one time champion is…

His suspension looks amazing out on the track. I'm no suspension guru but his setup looks soft on the track like his springs are normal but his compression is cranked up. It's amazing to see how effective his fork and shock works at different ranges of the stroke. Sometimes the way he rides his fork hardly compresses through a rhythm section and at other times when he's charging a rhythm it functions a lot mid-stroke.
