Epic!!
What a ride that was, one for the history books for sure. Great production on the video too!
Good vid but I do have a beef with the clickbait title.
"Americans Want You to Forget About This Race"
Bullshit. It was an awesome race and every race fan wants to remember it.
I will eat my computer if he goes 1-1...

The guys voice/accent is super annoying.
not a brilliant video. Missed opportunity IMO.
Well, not everyone can be from cali…
Its a bit biased for sure but a great video, noone would complain if it were about a top AMA pro dominating a MXGP race… but that will never happen…unless in the US… does that count? 🙄
If I’m not mistaken, Marvin had him covered until he had a sexton-esque brain fart.
I'm not arguing at all man, but in fairness (and I like Marv and he was riding well as ever) but Marv should have 'had him covered' given he was riding up front all race long and riding well, while Herlings was putting in work and coming through from 40th like his hair was on fire.
Tomac's still a beast, no comment on that, but a hell of a ride from Herlings that day and nothing could or should take away from it.
Now we need Tomac on star yamaha vs herlings to complete the saga.
The only reason he had him covered was because Jeffery was buried deep in the pack in the beginning and came back to the front into second when Marv brain farted. He was closing on him, but probably would have ran out of time. Herlings was on another level that day.
Herlings would just hurt himself again trying to stay ahead of him. Gajser would likely beat them both
We are from New Zealand, maybe get out a bit more and get some culture. Ever heard of Ben Townley, Shane King, Josh Coppins, Cody Cooper, Courtney Duncan, Levi Sherwood, Dylan Walsh, Josiah Natzke. Well that's how we sound when we talk....
40 bad ass riders on the gates for both series? That is a bit of a stretch considering MXGP has a tough time getting 30 riders at some races and that is not 30 riders that are "bad ass," but I am just nit picking now.
On a euro track..
To be fair the bottom 15 at our Pro Nationals are basically just there to be lapped traffic
Never heard of them. Sound like a bunch of nerds
To be fair, if you have the speed to qualify for the fast 40 your a baddass in my book! No matter how many times you get lapped.
This. I guess my post was more about the number of riders not quality.
Pit Row
Because of the way Herlings rode, a lot of people seem to forget just how fast Marv was going before the crash. Would Herlings have run him down? Maybe, who knows, but Marv sure made it a lot easier on him by crashing.
Marv was gaining on him the first moto also until he fell in a corner. Now was that because he was overriding trying to catch JH? Who knows. All I know is watching qualifying that day Herlings looked like he was in fast forward compared to anyone else. His corner speed was insane.
Marv was haling the mail that day but never really had Herlings covered.
Cool edit. Nice work Ash Sowman! Amazing ride from Herlings!
That was pretty dang cool. I'm a fan of the sport so anytime I see someone/anyone ride a bike like that...I'm just speechless... dumbfounded really.
Thanks for posting.
lolll
Has any rider ever gone from dead last to win in the premier class? Marv falling or not.... this was an epic ride for the history books.
I agree, I was just saying I don't think having more riders on the gate means the racing is better, because it's not. If we only ran the top 20 the racing would just be as good. Obviously every single one of the guys on the gate is a badass, no question of that
uh, ricky lapped the field one moto. but, nobody was touching herlings this day. I dont recall how the mxgp went, but i dont think our guys are still as fast as he was. Id like to know how the laptimes went at bakers factory. you can really see his speed there.
Narrator is a bit...ummm way Biased Gaslighter....LMAO!
Herlings was and still is a bad ass. hope to see more of him here in America
Great video, I thought for a while there that the narrator was just trying to bait Americans but the main thing he highlighted was Herlings rode a Legendary race that day and it should be remembered, I guess the creator/narrator is trying to create awareness of this historic ride, as he mentioned the American media didn't really cover it heck they barely showed him on TV, but that's to be expected due to a title being on the line.
