Ken could pull one hell of a holeshot with all that torque.

I hope he had his Honda with him and rode them back to back.

Somehow you are equating logic to decisions made in CA. Good luck with that.
I believe that is exactly what I am getting at in the related posts.

Ok, you were talking purely as a spectator. I can kind of see your point from that angle…but I’m such a fan as a participant that I would remain a participant even if it went 100% electric and the noise went away, which makes it hard to believe I would lose interest in the spectating part.
I’ve always known there is a demographic which attends SX races purely for the party scene, atmosphere and the coolness factor within their peers; those are the people fighting or getting a beer during a heat race or main. Now I know some people like it mostly for the noises and smells. The important thing is that we all have common ground in that we enjoy attending SX’s. Any common ground that can pull people together these days is a good thing!
If you ever run into someone whose ass sounds like an electrical whizzzzzzz, I would suggest to them to have that checked out.
For the record, I go to the races to immerse myself in the racing. I don't go with friends, sometimes my wife comes along. I don't want to socialize, drink or any of that shit. I don't want to hear blaring music either. I want to hear the bikes, I want to smell the bikes.

Look, I get that people want these bikes to be able to eliminate the noise problem in some places. That's wishful thinking....because once the noise is abated, they'll be coming after bikes for destruction of the environment.
As they have been doing for decades here in California.

The thing sounds like ass.

Watch a video of a top pro hit a set of whoops on a 2 stroke. Watch James ride wide open on a 125. Watch a raw video of Barcia bouncing off the rev limiter. Now turn off the sound and watch again. Completely different experience. Exhaust/sound tells the story of what your eyes are seeing.

Just because someone is a life long fan doesn’t mean they they will continue to be one when there are radical changes made to what they’ve known and loved for the majority of your life.

When it’s all EV I’m out. Fortunately, I don’t think that will happen for a long long time.
^^^^ This guy gets it.

For me, the sport will have deviated too far from what it was for me to continue being interested.

Honestly, I don't really like 4-strokes either, but at least you get all the sensory input of the racing.

Man...I wish this board had a multi-quote so we didn't have to do multiple posts when responding to multiple people....ML...you listening? Cool

But I’m looking forward not having to listen to hobby riders murdering their clutch and missing every shift at my local track.
Or over-revving their four strokes, or lugging their two strokes.

Well, you'll actually have More of a sensory input to what is happening on the track.

By that, listen to the noise of the wheel(s) slamming into the Whoops, and some jump landings. It's Not that the Stark Vargs suspension is noisy - it's what goes on with every bike.

Then, give thought to that with 20 / 22 bikes out there.

It Will be different, and it may well sound "like ass" to many, but people, especially the casual, non riding spectators, might (finally) 'get' the brutality to both Machine and Man that a track delivers. Cripes, the blood thirsty arseholes among them will be able to hear the broken bones, snapping of ligaments, and the screams of pain of the injured - sadly, when I look around me at SX races, I see far too many people like that.

And, you'll have the noise of the E motors, too. Hell, by the time - and it Will be a long time - that they are all E bikes out there, most of we ICE riders will be dead and buried. Already, I think the vast majority of youngsters relate far more to the "Ty Fighter / Video Game" sounds than an ICE engine.

Me, I'll keep my ICE Bikes, forever, especially my 500 2T, but I look forward to when we have The Major Companies make full on, non Foo Foo E Dirt Bikes. As I've written many times, I feel Stark doing a Real, High End Competition level E bike, at what is a reasonable price, will force the Major Manufacturers to pull their bloody fingers out, and make an E Bike I want to buy.

As for those so butt hurt by the thought of E Bikes that the sport will be "dead to them" - fair enough, enjoy your life with whatever you choose to get into. But, there'll be plenty of ICE Motorcycle racing, for a long time, so you should be able to postpone your cross over to Tiddly Wink flipping, for some time. Woohoo .

".... new study of highway charging requirements conducted by utility company National Grid Plc. Researchers found that by 2030, electrifying a typical highway gas station will require as much power as a professional sports stadium—and that’s mostly just for electrified passenger vehicles. As more electric trucks hit the road, the projected power needs for a big truck stop by 2035 will equal that of a small town."

Wish people would get out of fantasy land. Cool bike and cool technology sure, but we do not have the resources to power these things and pretty soon if we keep going down this path, trying to survive will be our only worry, not attending a SX.

That's why I'll just use a gas generator to charge an electric bike! Can't beat liquid power for transportation and storage!

Anyone see the short Instagram clip of Kenny talking about the Varg? He said all the bumps disappeared just like on a light 125.

The Varg and electric will catch on if only for performance. Who doesn't want an 80hp 125 where you never have to change a top end?

You do realize there are 1000hp electric cars with a driving range of over miles right now right? There’s not an ICE car ever that could or will do that…Lucid Motors does it.

It’s only a matter of time, short time at that where the electric dirt bikes will be the same way.

That company is unhealthy and will not be around long at its current rate.

Same thing with Stark in my opinion. Looking at their Instagram they seem to be more focused on the "state of the art" factory and marketing videos around computer programs vs providing content on the actual bike.

Cool bike and all for additional options for consumers, I just don't want anyone, like the government, shoving this electric dream down our throats.

So any guesses on how much Stark paid Roczen to ride their bike for exposure? I'm guessing a pretty penny, even with only a handful of delivered bikes, they're still pumping up their untested unproven product..

State of the art facilities and operations to convince investors (KTM, Yamaha, Honda etc.) to buy them out. Maybe that is the plan all along.

My guess is travel expenses and a nice hotel in Barcelona for a couple of days.

The desperation of some of you in bad mouthing this thing and the company behind it is amazing!

Did Anton Wass bang your girlfriend or are you afraid that you‘ll soon get passed a lot by eMXs?

I’m not opposed to it if it is like our current dynamic with 2 v 4….

However, all of you shitting on people that don’t want an EB because of the sounds and smells, well, isn’t that why people still ride two strokes? Heck take a look at the entries that vintage races are pulling in.

4 strokes surpassed two strokes in performance close to 20 years ago, yet on the local level 2 strokes still have a huge presence. Why? Maybe because people like that experience better and don’t care about the performance advantages of a new Factory Edition.

I think there’s a place for these and one day they’ll probably be better than ICE’s but dirt bike riders are stubborn…

I view it like cars. People still love old muscle cars and there's a huge market for them. But they still buy new fuel efficient daily drivers with plastic crumple zones, cruise control, accident avoidance/etc. because they're practical and convenient.

Tesla also has this horsepower and range. People also said they wouldn’t be around long.

Oddly enough Tesla is still around and still changing the world through EV.

Why else is every manufacturer; automotive, agriculture, semi’s, mining, motorsports, boats now building EV. These industries don’t make this type of investment without thorough business cases…
