Ross Chastain's crazy last lap move to advance reminds me of when Zacho blew up Savatgy for a title.

That was a crazy last corner move. Even he said he was glad the gate in the fourth corner wasn’t open just a little bit or not perfectly flush. Even sour puss (when he gets beat) Denny Hamlin had to give props to Chastain.

I wonder how they will write a rule to prevent this in the future?

Epic move and one for the highlight reels of the next century.

RMT I wonder how long it will take them to write the rule as you know it's coming.

I don’t think they will unless it starts to happen a bunch

NASCAR just found their Happy Gilmore moment. I am sure they don't want this to be a thing, but the fan (and beyond) reaction to that was huge.

I am talking with buddies about the idea of banning something like this and my thought was how you could possibly quantify it, and NASCAR already gets as much grief as Feld/SX over gray area judgement calls, it would be ugly to judge. However, it was mentioned the walls are not slot car tracks and do have gaps in places. It isn't the banzai move that is totally the problem, but the walls themselves. Chastain himself said he was worried about turn 4 gaps in the walls as he is in 5th gear in a pretty much flat corner, WFOT. LOL. I know Driver's are trying to call it dumb, I think if the tables were turned and they had thought of it, they would be responding/reacting differently. It was a ballsy move that somehow worked.

At any rate, an unforgettable moment in NASCAR racing, it was a treat to see.

So high, and so damn low in the blink of an eye Laughing What an emotional rollercoaster - a sigh of relief and a heart attack in the same breath. I was still shocked to hear the cheers from the crowd considering their hometown boy just got taken down.

It will be fun to see if the payback that has been promised all year long comes to fruition in the next couple of races.

Wouldn't be too hard to quantify. If you contact the wall, and your lap is faster than your previous lap, you get penalized some number of seconds. Doesn't penalize mistakes, cause those cost time.

Kid I went to high school with is in his crew, so it's blowing up extra on my Facebook timeline. Cool as hell to see! He was jumping up and down screaming when it happened, so I doubt he's mad about the damage!

Full send!

I didn't know that was even possible. I would think the wall would cause too much damage/slowing or potentially rip something off to make that an option.

Right
The damaged it caused is minimal to the Exposure and Money the team will make by getting into the Championship run.
Everything that was damaged on the car is minimal compared to what Ross did.
Full send is what sponsors and owners want in a driver.

Right front suspension, a couple of wheels, a rear toe link, and some body work.

He finished 5th and into the final 4.

No one is pissed but Hamblin.

That move would only work at one of two tracks and they're both half milers

That car looked surprisingly good when they were rolling it back to the truck.

Dale Earnhardt says ' hold my beer'.

I watched this live, and when they went to the break , Earnhardt was in the Ambulance.

When they came back they are running round it with the tape.
