It has been a couple years since there has been a front tire thread. I have been looking for front tires, and was wondering what you all like as your favorite front tire?
What kind of riding do you do and what type of dirt?

I normally ride at my local sand track, so I use a Maxxcross SI M7311 MX, and I especially need it because even my supermini will bog in sand.

If you are riding on hard packed dirt, I suggest Dunlop MX33's.

Maxxis Desert IT. Maybe not the best choice for all terrain, but it’s adequate for most, and lasts a hell of a long time.

I've been running a pirelli mid soft on everything for the last 2 years and I've been very happy with it

Dunlop MX33. I had let the front tire wear a little too much because that’s what happens. I replaced it over the weekend and the ride with new tire was awesome. I put about 20 hours n the front tire and the new tire felt amazing

Another for the Pirelli mx32 mid soft. Superior traction and great feel at an angle. Really trust it unlike the Dunlop.

I tried the Dunlop MX53 based off of Pingree’s recommendation and It worked awesome for me. Compared to another popular tire the MX53 front was dramatically better. I paired it with the MX33 rear and this is now my go to combination.

Super underrated tire IMO, use it mainly in Baja and Ocotillo Wells but hooks pretty damn great at Fox Raceway and Elsinore 🤘🏽with a mousse as well.

I've been running the Pirelli Mx32 Mid-soft rear tire and really like it. I liked the Mid-hard Mx32 too.
For the front, I did not like the Mx32 Mid-hard at all. I actually replaced it after a few rides (at Fox Raceway).
I'll try the Mid-soft next time.
I'm currently running the Dunlop Mx33 up front and it's OK. I don't have any complaints.
My favorite up front was the Bridgestone M203. I loved that tire. Unfortunately, they no longer make them.

The Pirelli Mx32's are very predictable, and I agree with Hammer, they have great traction and feel at every angle.

I ran that tire for years everywhere I went except deep sand.

It gets the job done, knobs stay sharp and it has a consistent feel.

More recently I’ve been running Starcross 5 soft.

I just ordered a Tusk EMX35. Had a couple guys I trust tell me it’s pretty good. For $55 when premium fuel is running $4.94….I’m willing to give it a shot.

I'm curious about this.. The Maxxis Maxxcross MX Soft (gasgas stock front), the Starcross 5 stoft, and the Pirelli Mid-Soft MX32 are all identical patterns. Has anyone used any of these to replace the others and noticed a difference? I think I don't like the Maxxis I have but it could also be suspension related as well.

Not a rear tire thread, but the Starcross 5 medium rear is incredible.

Dunlop MX3S still. Tried the 53, now I barely have an ACL left. Very unlikely it was the tire's fault, but it just left a bad taste. Up to that point it felt "ok".

I'm just so used to the 3S and 33, it would be a tough switch at this point. I'm old and don't like change, lol.

Starcross 6 soft so far has been awesome. I ride desert and tracks in SoCal and love it for both. Used the 5 in the past and didn’t like it as much.

Another vote for Pirelli 32 Mid Soft. Mostly ride the conditions for that tire and they’re great. The front gives plenty of warning on harder dirt too. Only downside is they don’t last long, especially on harder dirt, can trash them pretty quick.

Would like to give the new Starcross 6 a try… pricey tho.

Got the Pirelli 32 Mid Soft and like it a lot. Great grip and as others also mentioned really predictable. Only downside it doesn't last long. As long as you ride in soft dirt you are fine. As soon as you touch harder ground the side knobs break away.
My next try will be the Dunlop MX33 because a friend of mine is pretty satisfied with it. As a hobby rider: durability > max. performance.

Pirelli mid soft 32.

Did run Dunlop mx33 "wrong way" and it worked better in soft sand. Right direction its just not as good as Pirelli.
