He should've walked up to the podium at the meeting with a straight face and a box of disposable ear plugs under his arm. Set the box up on the podium and took a pack out and demonstrated how to use them and said have a nice day. Left the box there on the podium and walked out of the meeting with a straight face.

He should just turn it into a pig farm. They'd probably like that even less. No noise though.

I'm not sure if any of you have actually had to live near a private motocross track, but I can attest to how annoying the sound can be. I love motocross, and I love a private motocross track. I do not love living near one, especially if it is used day-in, day-out. A private motocross track used for daily training would drive me absolutely bat-shit crazy, especially if I moved out to to a rural area for the purpose of seeking peace and quiet. A motocross track is the exact opposite of that. Occasional use is one thing. Daily use would suck.

Too bad. Especially amount cash goes into building, maintaining a track. However it won’t be the last. Florida is booming. Florida is one key states people are flocking too, avoid democratic states high taxation. Expect more America 🇺🇸 population to head there. Along with Business, and Banks. All about Tax. Big governments vs small government. Population flow.

I’ve heard them called halfbacks, they move to Florida and then move halfway back up north, in NC

The old folks/golf cart mecca, or the moto area.

Even then that always goes against the "noisemakers"
Skydived for years at a remote airport out in the middle of nowhere.
Over time the subdivisions began their slow, cancerous invasion.
Soon we began hearing complaints about airplane noise, and the occasional jumper or 2 landing in their sacred neighborhoods.
A subdivision now sits where the airport had been for decades.
Hundreds of acres of woods, and watershed were plowed under as well, so they could have their cookie cutter homes, and driveways to wash their BMW's.

Enjoying life, and having fun is slowly becoming regulated into oblivion.
Yep this. Everywhere in the developed world

I have opened a motocross track in an unzoned county in the middle of no where and got hit with a nuisance lawsuit. I've also recently opened a motocross track right in the middle of a major metropolitan area and got all necessary approval. I have a little more experience with the subject than most. As far as the law is concerned who was there first means nothing. I'm not saying a jury won't take it into consideration but as far as the law is concerned this is not a thing.

I had a family member do this with success. Had a dispute, got 4 pigs and some chickens and put them right up against the guys fence, the neighbor changed his mind after about 6 months living next to the pigs and chickens.

Yeah, that's exactly what the airport owners found out.
Crackerbox homebuilders had more local political clout.
Money talks.

Same with the crabby old retired farts in Florida.

A woman I went to school with is one of the biggest selling real estate agents for the Villages. Always trying to get me to move down. After a few conversations I think they are brain washed lol.

Generally speaking , florida like much of the US, is a life raft beginning to sink do to over population and over development, happens so slowly that it will be to late to do anything about it. People think natural resources will never run out, orlando already wants to pull from the st johns river, it will only get worse, feel sorry for my kids, our greed has ruined a great country.

Imagine thinking everything is some big conspiracy. Just like that guy who was talking about how every MX track is a money laundering scheme on here. It was a read.

Tyla Rattray, a former South African motocross racer who trains other racers, had been granted a special use permit to operate a private motocross track on 52 acres in the Center Hill area. However, due to numerous violations, the county revoked the permit.

A special use permit still requires the owner to adhere to the municipal ordinance codes pertaining to decibel noise and land development. The conditional use permit when approved would state any special exemptions or added conditions required to be preformed by the owner. The article stated violations. Complaints are not violations.
I would think 52 acres would be plenty enough land to design with trees for noise and visual buffers. Special attention to accelerating zones for placement. We are talking a private training facility, not a public racing facility, so the use permit must have had a limit on riders on the track that was part of the violation? Has the owner checked his decimal level at the perimeter to protect from complaints?

When I was on the planning commission in my municipality I would always tell the complainers that you only own what you own. Meaning, if the property owner adhered to the laws then there is no issue. You should have bought the property when it was available.
Here come all the experts

I don't get it. Aren't Tyla and Aldon's facilities quite a ways away from the villages? What are they complaining about that's bothering them so much 30 miles away?

Yes, the Villages is a little ways away (for now). Nobody from the the Villages is complaining, except for the comments on the news story. I believe the only thing related to the Villages here is the name of the only news company around reporting on it. The complainers are from the actual neighboring properties

the best place to live is no where. being mobile and home free is the new way to 'get ahead' and enjoy this country.

living in one place forever is some baby boomer nonsense.

Lol...long story short...ish. Bart bought some land, built a track. Neighbors took him to court. He lost...no riding. His wife stood up in court and told the neighbors, "ok then, we are selling the property to a commercial pig farming operation... there'll be 20,000 pigs here this time next year". She was BSing but the complainers were worried shitless.
