Cooper gets the start at Foxborough but quickly gets passed by 6 riders. DC hinted that Webb might sit out the outdoors in 2022. What's going on, equipment, injury or motivation?

Sit out the outdoors is a stretch.. To me it indicated he just isn’t 100% yet.

Is he 100% recovered from that crash with Sexton?

Guess Tomac dropped anchor too, think Webb passed him at the end. Yeah i know Tomac has this in the bag and just needs to finish, lol.

Sort of thought Sexton was gonna push Anderson but he got gapped at the end.

He might ponder sitting out the summer because he doesn't see himself anywhere near the front of the pack. Not a great career move if he sits out. Might signal he wants out of KTM? He did not look good yesterday.

I think sometimes the series takes a toll on these guys, mentally and or physically, to the point where a break will help them. it’s hard to grind year in and year out at that top level. Sometimes the riders need a break to put the fire back in their belly. RC skipped a series for knee repairs, but I think that break help motivate him and he came back stronger than ever. K-Dub took a year off and came back stronger than ever. Even Craig took a break, and look at him now. I believe all three of those riders would’ve been less successful had they not taken a little breather. Coop has been grinding at the top for a while and he’s won a couple of these things. Now there’s five or six other guys that are grinding just as hard or harder and they haven’t won any. so they’re a little more motivated to stay in the game grinding at that top level. I think Cooper is just a little tired, that’s the evolution of the sport. Eventually Tomac is going to be tired too.

My opinion is they are focusing on outdoors for Webb and Plesinger while The Musk keeps making changes for SX only.

Hell just froze over! I actually agree with you haha. Laughing Laughing

That track yesterday was pretty tough to make moves on as well. But I'm wondering if maybe if Cooper may be dealing with an injury? Or maybe they tried something new on the bike that didn't work out well? Both Cooper and Eli's bikes didn't look as planted yesterday. Seemed a little off.

He hasn’t hole shot and ran up front that long all season really. I think the pace up front just got him and he pumped up a bit and faded. These dudes, while bad are still very much human.

With the possibility of Herlings racing and the 222 confirmed for two rounds, along with Plessinger, the KTM team has what they to be competitive for the championship.

Coop put up a good fight last night. ...but at the end of a horrible season he's had...what does he have to gain by pushing it? The risk of injury will mess up his outdoor season.

Injury....bike still not where it was last year. Or both.

Well, look on the bright side, Coop did come into the series saying he had his best off-season ever.

If Webb sits out the summer, it almost guarantees a Herlings appearance. I think Webb is just beat this year.

Webbs SX career is based on startercross tracks not his raw speed.

I think you need to watch some races. How many races did Cooper wear guys down in 21 and 19 and pass them in the last couple laps?

Webb is too talented and too driven to just give up. I said a while back...he's injured. No one is going to admit it but I'd say it's obvious.

I would imagine he just said eff it. Why chance it. He makes it through this week’s practice and finishes next weeks race he’s the champ and thats all that matters in the end.

Thank you. I'm tired of the narrative that Webb was never actually that good. He was absolutely a championship-level rider in '21 and '19, he just sucks this year.

RC and Webb must send each other Christmas cards or something. Even when Webb is fading back, RC is complimenting his race craft. He's been pumping him up since he got in the booth.

Yeah…. Totally different situation. One guy has won races and has the title pretty much wrapped up. The other has been a ghost most of the year.

Or Webb said, i suck this year, I'm a 2x SX champ, why risk it, come back year, Not worth it for either rider for different reasons.

This - go look at the Vault at Anderson’s years between 2019-2021. 3 years of middling results, sometimes running up front, and a handful of podiums maybe in a year.

Who would’ve expected him to win like he has this year based on the past 3 years? These guys don’t just lose their speed and ability to win directly in the prime of their career. If I’m him I take the entire summer off Moto and find that right state of mind. Kind of like El Hombre did last year.

Tomac dropped anchor als yet no comments about him. Reminds me about all you guys saying Webb did not deserve a 450 ride? Make up your minds.

Tomac just dialed it down.

“It was a tough main event. I was up front early but stalled the bike and then I got shuffled back a little bit and ended up just kind of playing it safe. It was a tough track, one of the tougher ones that we’ve had to where the jumps and the bottom of the transitions were just really tough to ride, period. It was a track I didn’t want to take a whole lot of risk on. We’re still in a really good spot for points, and we’ll go clinch it next week in Denver.”
