The whole night just showed Jett's lack of maturity.

The first race can be forgiven after he picked up the win in the second, but then he makes the SAME mistake again in the first corner of the final race.

The last few laps of the third race and he's literally gooning through the whoops so far sideways you can see his side plate numbers from the rear and I'm not surprised something catastrophic happened.

Yes it's a racing incident but 100% his fault...he was the one who clipped the tough block (a habit of his).

I'm no fan of Forkner but not happy to see him go out like this and the way Jett's head slammed the ground I'm surprised he wasn't ko'ed (his forearm looked to absorb some of the impact)...was probably seeing a few stars for all we know as his pace was way lower after he remounted.

Lawrence tucked his front wheel in the first turn not once but twice without outside influence. Then Lawrence crossed jumped his main competitor into season ending injuries. That’s not cool. He has fabulous whoop speed. Other than that he proved he shouldn’t be on a SX track until he figures it out.
All these little mistakes are preparing him for his future. He is a special talent and is a future 450 champ.

Also I'm pretty sure Jett cross jumped someone earlier in I think a different gang bang that no one seems to have picked up on. Maybe it looked closer to me than it actually was but I thought for a moment he was gonna take himself and that other rider out.

Great input much thank you

You think you saw him almost cross jump someone?
So what you're saying is, you saw him go over a jump in a SX race and may have been close to someone but you're not sure..
The point of my reply was to point out you were recounting something that may or may not have happened as evidence he was out of control..

I’m still shocked neither of them lost consciousness. They both hit the ground so hard. Jett was super emotional after the race but I’m not sure if the TV caught any of it. I’ve never been a big Austin fan but I feel heartbroken for the dude. He seemed to be having a lot of fun being back at the races and doing well.

I think Jett’s mistake was just a lack of experience and not thinking. Anderson and Eli were in a similar situation during main 3 but they both jumped the finish line straight as an arrow.

I don’t think anyone thinks Jett did it on purpose. At least I hope not.

I wasn't trying to provide evidence that he was out of control, anyone who watched that last race could've seen he was riding way above his head and was out of control. The cross jump was unrelated to his one on Forkner, this one just looked like he thought he had more room than he did, or he was just being careless.

Anyway I went back and I'm pretty sure this is the incident I was thinking of, it wasn't as bad as I initially thought but it's hard to tell with the angle it's at http://imgur.com/a/WlwgqoV

Definitely not intended. Just what happens when you are on the absolute limit.

Wish he just gave it another lap, just sends it soo hard. When it bites, it bites bad!

Hope Forkner is ok. Really hoping to see him build this season and match the Jetts speed.

My point was that it was nobody’s fault. Unfortunately Austin got the worst part of it. I just hope that Austin‘s OK.
It was Jett's fault. It just wasn't intentional.

Jett owned it on the podium. They were racing for postion as we all know. Man, id sure like to hear that Forkner is ok.

100% Jett’s fault, intentional or not (obviously it wasn’t). Jett was hanging it out riding over his head. Bummer he had to ruin Forkner’s season and put another damper on his career as he was finally starting to put it back together. Pretty sad how many people don’t seem to give a single shit about Forkner and are only concerned about defending Jett.

This incident is a classic example of the crucible supercross is. Jett is an 18yr old involved in arguably the most difficult sport in the world, half a planet away from home, with a half assed education who probably has been home schooled for years, performing before tens of thousands of fans live in billion dollar stadiums, with perhaps millions of fans on TV, who's representing a multi-billion dollar international corporation, for potentially millions of dollars of earnings and millions of social media viewers, in cities he never dreamed could be so big. Perhaps the weight of the world isn't on his shoulders, but there is no way he has been groomed for this kind of limelight. Of course he pulls moves that will risk his and others safety for success, all us risked our safety and others for a lot less when we were 18.

I’m not going that far but Jett was out of control in the whoops just before that happened. It was very close to something bad happening there. All those saying no one’s fault, yeah it is someone’s fault. He didn’t mean to do it of course, that doesn’t mean it isn’t his fault. “Accidents” occur all the time in all walks of life and it’s always someone’s fault regardless of intent.

Alot of people caught in the Jett hype. They talked about if he could do a perfect season at the start of the broadcast for fuck sake. The kid crashes his brains out riding over his head and takes his main competition out and it's not his fault? He nearly bounced into him in the whoops. Everyone seems to lick Jett's arse but I know if Austin cross jumped Jett people would be asking for his head.

He jumped across the track to get to from where he was to where he needed to be to set up for the corner. He must have assumed he had enough room to make it happen, but he didn’t. Hitting the tough block scrubbed enough speed to cause the collision. It was a big mistake. Nothing sinister about it. I do find it a bit amusing that Vince receives so much hate for cross jumping. I can’t remember the last time he took himself or another rider out jumping across the track.

Can you imagine how sketchy Jett will be through the whoops at the EW shoot outs trying to keep up to CC?

No intention on Jett's part and he owned it, as he should have. Sucks for everyone. That was plain ugly to watch.

I saw it as- Jett made a mistake by pushing too hard and clipped that block.... fork made a mistake by pushing too hard as well.... being right next to Jett over that jump, when Jett was obviously all over the place, was terrible race craft.... for Jett, no big deal... but for fork... he HAS to keep it on 2 wheels this year, no matter what... even if that means finishing 5th... or 8th... this is by far forkners most important yr of racing... this is the year he lands a solid 450 ride, or gets skipped over.... I don't think anybody thought fork would be one of those guys that fizzles out in the pros... but that is exactly what we are seeing...

Bad take. Forkner covered the inside and held his line, how is that terrible race craft? Jett got out of control and jumped into him. Forkner wasn’t pushing too hard, he was in control and racing for the lead.

And if you want to dive further, Forkner could have been defensive and pushed Lawrence wide coming out of the turn. He did the smart and safe option instead of the option that would likely result in a crash by either one or both of them. Jett’s ‘pass now at all cost’ attitude resulted in both of them going down.

Jett was pushing incredibly hard and made the mistake. Is it a racing incident? Yes, but it wouldn't have happened if Jett was pushing so hard and now we more than likely lost Forkner to the series and unfortunately for Austin he has another injury when he was stacking confidence and consistency. Absolute bummer
