Who cares?
Does Mrs Reed also use Alpinestars t-shirt while hitting whoops?

Alpinestars seems to have an endless amount of $$ for marketing and outfitting riders.

Fox lost out. Reed can certainly cater to the vet crowd for influence.

I wish he would have stayed contracted with Alpinestars his whole career. If he had, he likely would not have destroyed his knee at Dallas in 2012. He likely would have challenged RV to the end of that particular series.
Wish you’d of payed attention in english class, wouldn’t of destroyed your statement/sentence/word and punctuation extravaganza so bad. The end.

Fixed it, thanks teach. Let me know how the revised draft looks. Will submit the final with your approval 👍

Guess I'm old-school but I couldn't care less what gear a retired guy and his 3 beginner kids wear. Seems wasteful for a family like the Reed's to get even more free stuff because, "yOuTuBe".... spare me. I'd rather see fast kids with working-class parents who actually travel and compete receive that support divvied up, but that's just me.
Go ahead and torch me, I've been a Chad Reed fan my whole life.

Love it, Vital members going on the forum to complain about someone they "say" isn't relevant. If Chad wasn't relevant, why take the time to post and complain? Clearly, The Reeds are still very relevant.

The only part of this I find intriguing is that one of the driving factors behind CR starting Two Two Motorsports was because he wanted to wear Fox gear. How times change.

This very comparable to any purchase that you or I make. At that time, FOX/Shift were willing to start a new revamped line just for Chad. That is pretty spectacular, and a decision that changed the way gear was made for many years. Fast forward and Fox is downsizing a bit and Chad and his family had the opportunity to sign with Alpinestars who say a reason to pay him to wear Alpinestar gear.

My experience with the latest tech 10's was not a good one and the company doesn't seem to care that they have a problem IMO. Biggest waste of money in a while for me.
I've heard this same sentiment from several others.
'22 boots are supposed to be "updated" to fix this.

There are no changes on the 22 boots. That was misinformation.

You probably have more info than I do, and are probably right. But comparing photos ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Good to know.

Haven't had my hands on a new set of boots in years. I am still rocking a set of Tech 10's from 10 years ago. They last forever when you are only doing a few thousand miles a year in the desert.

I really don’t like takes like that. I didn’t deep dive but I didn’t see anyone saying irrelevant but maybe they did. Still he’s retired. We all should be questioning why companies feel a need to pay a retired guy anything to wear their stuff when we, the consumers, end up paying that check that a Reed. That’s why I will not give a nickel to anything Nike. They’ll hand nobodies $20mil contracts like it’s Monopoly money.

Definitely a smart move by Alpinestars you need to remember Reed has had a entire country behind him his entire career (Australia) now with the Lawrence brothers all 3 on stars that’s basically locking down the entire Australian market

Yeah these gear companies really should consult us before they make decisions like this.

You can just send your favorite retired racer personal checks if you’d like Ferris. Leave me out of it I’m just telling an Alpinestars type company that you might turn people away as well. I’ll tell you what though, some of these companies would benefit from having me doing their design work. You hear me Thor?

Man I don’t mind sponsored content and fully understand the game they’re playing now but man that video was cringey as all get out.

What's there to question? The Reeds have over a million followers on Instagram ( Chad has 950K+ & Ellie has 100K), and they're pushing 40k (and growing) on YouTube. Retired or not, that's a lot of eyeballs on A-Stars gear.

Fox isn’t owned by the Fox family any longer. They are owned by Altamont Capital, an equity group that owns a lot of brands.

Alpinestars is owned by Gabriele Mazzarolo, the son of the founder, he spends his money to do cool things with his riders and drivers. Much like Pete Fox and the Fox family used to do. Passion projects run deep with the founders and their kin, equity fund conglomerates like profits, and the heart of the company goes away each year the key people that made the brand special leave.
