It was in rough shape to start. I did quite a bit of shaving on it, then sent it out to JSD restoration to try to work some magic. He did a really nice job, but it still had some yellow spots when I got it back. I plastered it down with hydrogen peroxide paste and hit it with UV light, couple of times per side to get it where it’s at today. It’s not perfect, but it turned out pretty good. Here’s where it started.

I’m doing a white tank at the moment with similar yellowing what method did you use to get it looking this good? Thanks

These may not look as exciting, but some of these took years to find. I've had saved searches online and always had a look out for these bits. All NOS original OEM parts (not the superseded versions that are always slightly different. Rear brake pedal, chain guide, rear brake hose, rad louvres, right side frame guard, case saver, throttle cap and Nichiwa blue plug cap etc... ...also NOS CR125 front master cylinder and CR chain roller that were used on the team bikes.

Recent marketplace purchase the 96 is becoming extremely hard to come by in Australia and when they do they’ve already been restored. Besides the bike being all spray painted it’s actually in great condition the frame rails are perfect swing arm no marks no damage to engine cases this will be a long term project.

And a couple as I’m mocking up plastics. Waiting on suspension and making sure everything is looking ok. Throttle Jockey printed the original graphics kit back in the day and they’ve done an amazing job for me recreating the kit. All the little details are coming together.

The seat turned out alright -- here it is with my pink plastics. I'm going to use purple fork guards and anodize/paint some parts purple -- like wheels, hubs, forks, bars... I might end up using some 95 forks/triples I had gotten for this project a while back instead of the stock forks, only because the purple fork guards are made for the newer forks... I could make them work for the 90 forks... but... to be decided.
