Surprisingly when you wash the front end and fall you lose time. Who would've thought that would happen Woohoo

I don't get these guys time and time again going around the track for no reason. Coop could've so easily went straight and rolled the whoops like he should have, and lost for sure one position, possibly 2 whoever was behind Dean.

Thrasher did the exact same thing last weekend there was an opening right in front of him and he skipped the whole rhythm section.
Agreed. Was thinking to myself last night about scenarios back in the day where a rider would go down and roll through them or hop out like he was supposed to.

Never thought I’d see a two time supercross champ that can’t blitz a set of whoops.

I don't know why Coop skipped the whoops...maybe he thought it would be better to not be a hazard to anyone blitzing from behind?

It does appear that the tuff blocks on the whoops would make it tricky to re-enter. I'm no particular fan of Webb's but I wouldn't crucify any rider for a minor brain fart that gained no significant advantage or created no hazard. Just my .02

He fell on the track. Got up and left the track to bypass the whoops. Is it ok to bypass the whoops if you don’t fall?

Well, since you asked...if I was a pro, racing SX, and I fell at the start of the whoops and I knew I was gonna have to goon through them with no speed AND I also knew there was a bunch of fast guys coming behind me that WOULD be committed to blitzing...I would have done exactly what Webb did. If I got docked...that's better than creating carnage. Cool

To me, he didn’t have the distance to get up to speed to hit the whoops, rolling them he would be in others way that would be at speed. He went around the obstacle and did not accelerate while off track.

He did everything right, shouldn’t be docked.

Ya cause it’s a smart idea if you fall a few feet before a triple but still send it anyway…🤣

Lots of clowns in this thread. Get your common sense out boys 🤡

The AMA didn’t think it was worth a penalty….

EASY…easy!!! 😂
I know the arguments that are about to come from everyone on both sides about the consistency or lack of coming from the AMA.

Riders are blitzing the woops and another rider pulls out into the middle of the woops in front of them at a slow speed ….. does that sound like entering in a Safe place?

Agree and he did not risk taking out and injuring several other riders

Again he fell on the track BEFORE the whoops left the track BEFORE the whoops and went around them .

And avoided taking out other blitzing racers and himself by doing it.

Doesn't sound like you watched the race . Just saw it again on the cnbc replay . There was really no danger of that happening . Wilson was just entering the corner Webb went down in as Webb was getting going . Webb was in position to roll the whoops on the very edge of the track .

So if you’re slow in the whoops, just bypass, right?

Why do we come down so hard on the result of the rider after they finish and a call is missed?

Sometimes refs catch pass interference calls sometimes they don’t, etc. Its a part of sports calls being missed sometimes, maybe we give our sport some of that break too once in a while?

Webb is a very polarizing riding is most likely why

That is ass backwards thinking. It's a race no? It's not like he hit his head, or had a tweaked bike from the "hard" tip over going 2 mph. Instead, he made a conscience decision to forgo because he knew it would result in lost time. I love JBone. On this one and in particular this season as the FIM is gone finally. They need to step up, take control of the rules and turn the ship around. Webb should lost 1 spot due to track cutting and this particular example should set the tone. The riders have gotten away with those things for years. Which is the exact reason that Webb made that decision.

Sorry boys. The AMA deemed it legal. Rip them a new asshole not the rider.

Well in Webb's defence he hit the whoops on the sighting lap at San Diego when no one else did, so it was only fair to even out the next weekend by skipping them once.

Ya so maybe all of the lappers should go around the whoops when they hear leaders in behind them because they're going slower? He EASILY could've hugged the right side of whoops and rolled them and lost position to Wilson but he chose not to.

Lumpy, he was literally jumping through them from the inside. You can't actually be serious thinking he couldn't have done just that.

So basically after three pages, the consensus is that he should be docked for cheating.

What will the AMA do?

Friese didn’t even have his bike and he was trying to get back in the whoops.

If you check next round track map there will be line for Webb without whoops on left and others will take right lane with whoops.

He was looking for his mullet from earlier in his career.
