I'm over here wondering if I should face my fears and run the same gear that I got injured in? Seems like a mental block.
Has anybody faced this or done this before?

I’m not superstitious, but I am a littlestitious
Now without question, never go out in all new gear, head to toe, that's just asking for a dirt sample!

For me... Other than a helmet...if the gear is in good shape, I wouldn't bat an eye.
When I went back to the track in March, I took my RM125. It was a good day at the very same track. A friend pointed out that I was wearing the same gear.
You’ve been missing some of the most EPIC dirt and some snow rides that exist !
It’ll be wet through the end of the week…….
You can even wear your gear you crashed in, but bring a new helmet. I got a great loop I’ve been doing, let’s do this !!
Half the time I raced, I only had one set of gear, that’s all I could afford. Never a second thought about what to wear after a stack…..that’s ridiculous!

The funny part is now I probably will remember it the next time I ride; I did some damage to my MCL yesterday- and was wearing some really old No Fear gear. Not that I'll give a damn, the gear had nothing to do with it.
I think a lot of us have rituals.
I always pray before I ride. Always.
I've never thought of wearing different gear after a crash. When I injured my ankle, I decided I could no longer justify riding in my ancient boots even though everything still worked on them.
I knew they were no longer protecting me like newer tech boots do, but it took the crash for me to decide they had to go. Nothing to do with superstition. They just weren't cutting it.
Now, if I was wearing the same gear every time I crashed, over 10 years (I have a bunch of jerseys), I'd probably retire it, because whether I could figure out what it was about it or not, it could be argued that something about the gear isn't gelling with how I ride. Again, nothing superstitious.
If anything though, I'd want to get on the same bike and conquer whatever obstacle I crashed on.
