The hype going into 2005 was insane and the 2006 season was close until the last race.

i rememer watching the 2005 season pretty religously bc of james/chad/ricky. james was entering the big bike class, chad was defending his 04 title and rc was on his new suzuki rm250

man, its crazy how time flies .. ..i def miss those days ALOT. watching all these new kids today just isnt the same.

the 04 outdoor season in general was kind of the first year i followed it closely but the results were kinda boring with rc and bubba dominating

1991, esp Atlanta multiple different past champions held the lead at least once during the main. It was insane. and also super cold.

Really? I feel the racing these days is way better. Especially the 250 class with Jett, Jo, Huntah, Colt etc. The Ricky days bored the hell out of me. Same with when Villo was racing and those few years stew dominated.

i think you're prob right about the racing, its just that im not a 15 year old kid anymore. im in my early 30s and jut dont get excited about alot of things anymore and tbh, the whole 4-stroke thing made moto kind of homogenous

i stopped riding around 2012 and i just remember being at the track and seeing spodes on 4-strokes clear big jumps that took alot of precision on my part to do and thinking yeah..this is why the racing isnt as good anymore as everyones on a cheater bike lol

Watching a once in a lifetime master of his craft who worked harder than his competitors bored me...

i mean to be fair..how many people actually challenged RC?

there were prob 5 people who could say they beat him or passed him and i think his worse season was his rookie year in 250 supercross. there wasnt alot of good racing up front when he was racing, but when there was any it was certainly very entertaining

I didn’t say his riding was boring. Generally when a dude gets the holeshot and checks out every race it isn’t very exciting

2011 no question. If Vince McMahon owned field supercross he couldn’t have written a better script.

I agree, I don’t know if the racing was better back then or I’m older now and pro racing doesn’t excite me as much.

2011. 2012 was shaping up to be better (5 winners in first 5 rounds) but turned out to be the most boring season ever.

One thing about 2011 is the timing of all the title contenders meeting at this time in their lives. James and Chad were coming back from injury. RV was questionable after his serious leg injury. Canard had just finished an amazing outdoor season prior and Dungey was defending champ.

So many races that year had the script turned upside down multiple times. Like when RV didn’t qualify for the Main in Florida James was set up to have a big points lead but went down on the first straight of the main and was carried off on a backboard.

I love 2005 too. It was a disappointment when Stewart was out by round two, but the races he did attend were amazing. This heat delivers! https://youtu.be/6rGWQjloKDQ

This heat was epic. Thanks for sharing. Crazy to see the difference in how well 4 strokes handle and how people race them now compared to when they were first on the scene.
