Jacobson v. Massachusetts

https://www.oyez.org/cases/1900-1940/197us11

Facts of the case
A Massachusetts law allowed cities to require residents to be vaccinated against smallpox. Cambridge adopted such an ordinance, with some exceptions. Jacobson refused to comply with the requirement and was fined five dollars.

Question
Did the mandatory vaccination law violate Jacobson's Fourteenth Amendment right to liberty?

Conclusion
The Court held that the law was a legitimate exercise of the state's police power to protect the public health and safety of its citizens. Local boards of health determined when mandatory vaccinations were needed, thus making the requirement neither unreasonable nor arbitrarily imposed.

Well you’ve shown your fantastic at research. Have you scrolled through swedens past few days with that graph? It jumps around, and hardly puts light on what your trying to prove.

Their tactic is certainly different but it hasn’t paid off, unfortunately

https://www.businessinsider.com.au/sweden-covid-no-lockdown-strategy-fa…

“ But a year and a half into the pandemic, it’s clear that bet was wrong.

Sweden has recorded more COVID-19 cases per capita than most countries so far: Since the start of the pandemic, roughly 11 out of every 100 people in Sweden have been diagnosed with COVID-19, compared with 9.4 out of every 100 in the UK and 7.4 per 100 in Italy. Sweden has also recorded around 145 COVID-19 deaths for every 100,000 people – around three times more than Denmark, eight times more than Finland, and nearly 10 times more than Norway.”

“
Plus, Sweden’s economy still shrank 8.6% from April to June of last year – its largest quarterly fall in at least 40 years. By comparison, Denmark’s economy shrank 7.4% during that time, Norway’s 5.1%, and Finland’s just 3.2%. (None of these economies shrank by more than 4% over the course of 2020, though.)

Sweden’s unemployment rate also rose from 6.6% in March 2020 to 9.5% in March 2021. Norway, Denmark, and Finland all saw unemployment rise by smaller margins: around one percentage point, on average.“

Cases are irrelevant when there is no standard for testing and rtpcr is used with different cycle thresholds. Also if you actually saw how deaths are attributed without tests in many cases they can’t be compared. But keep reading business insider and thinking you are informed.

Not really, I know that if I decide to take up lung darts there is a very good chance I will get lung cancer in 20 to 50 years. The first vaccine was administered less than a year ago so I have no idea what will happen to me next year if I get vaccinated today. One decision is made with full knowledge of the consequences the other is made in the hope everything works out.

Full disclosure: I'm 54 and got pretty bad pneumonia a few years ago and made the personal decision to get vaccinated.

I suspect we see more people/athletes like Kyle Warner in the future. For those unfamiliar, he was a very healthy MTBer who is dealing with terrible after effects of this particular Vaccine. I have been hearing of a lot of this inflammation as a side effect and it concerns me.

I am not against vaccines. I have had plenty throughout my life. I would, however, prefer the vaccines go through the proper and complete trial process and have a longer time period for unbiased scientists to determine the long term effects of the vaccine in question.

Sorry to hear about your wife and I hope she gets better.
But no medicine or vaccine is perfect, there will always be rare exceptions.
My wife teaches college microbiology, and although she's a strong advocate for the vaccine, she will admit it's not 100%. No drug is.

That said, millions of people have got the vaccine without an issue. I personally do not know anyone who had any lingering effects.

The only data that matters is the death rate and if it went up from the year before..I was just showing that the data (accurate or not) doesn’t support your claim. Lumping cases/deaths in from last year doesn’t show you anything. You would have to look at data post vaccine roll out and compare…

If half of you supporting the vaccine actually did some research on Ivermectin (not reading BS news articles) you wouldn’t even be considering the vaccine.

My wife, who’s 31 years old and in very good shape, developed heart issues after getting the vaccine. Her doctors are now running all kinds of tests. It’s funny, she had covid and has more antibodies than the vaccine provides yet she was still required to get the vaccine for her job. And here we are. Wait til these lawsuits start pouring in, these companies are gonna wish they did real life research rather than getting all their info from CNN.

These are the cases that are really perplexing to me, why the hell would you require someone with active antibodies to get a vaccine for something they’re already protected from? Except for that annoying little fact that there’s no money in natural immunity. . .
You must comply😂🤦‍♂️

I hope your wife can recover and there are no long-term effects. She will be in my thoughts and prayers.

I also have a buddy (active and 38 years old) who has been in the hospital since 9/6/21 who developed a blood clot. He was vaccinated. Here are some of the updates from his wife:

"On Sunday afternoon John started having severe pain in his hips and numbness in his legs and feet. We called 911 and they responded quickly to the scene and got him quickly to the hospital. After several scans and tests, they found an abdominal clot that was preventing feeling to his legs and feet. Then it was time for emergency vascular surgery to remove the clot. The surgery lasted 4 1/2 hours because when the doc got in he found the clot all in John's legs as well.
He is hopefully having some short-term dialysis because his kidneys and spleen also took some hits from the clots as well.
• Heart rate averaging 140-150
• Surgery 2 for bleeding on his legs from the original surgery.
• Taken off CRT dialysis machine
• Surgery 3 for more permanent catheter into place and clear up some bleeding on his legs
• CT scan showed a bleed inside his stomach

They still don't know if they can save one of his legs because of dead tissue.

Just because the news doesn't report those who are dealing with side effects, does not mean they aren't happening.

I know a great deal of people that have experienced pretty severe vaccine injury. 2 of my military friends have had their careers and health destroyed because of mandatory vaccinations required for deployment. Both have severe autoimmune conditions now and are being told hopefully 6 months to 2 years they will recover. They are being medically discharged. Hope the government takes care of them. One of my main riding buddies is a senior officer. He has both shots and no major issues but refuses to support mandates and will not implement a QR coded vaccine passport that is coming soon to my part of the country.

I was in hospital last year with a burst and gangrenous appendix. I was operated on and given a suite of drugs to feed me and clean up the toxic crap that my body had created inside me.

I did not ask for the details on the chemical composition of what they prescribed. I did not ask for the doctors' credentials.

Reluctantly, I have chosen to be vaccinated, it makes no sense not to. Restrictions and passports and whatnot. It shits me. But there's no battle worth fighting here. Not when I have emergency surgery where my life is on the line and I just trust the docs.

And I trust the butcher and the baker and the guy who did the spokes on my bike. The guy that built the piston.

It shits me that the governments, businesses and the stadiums and the networks have taken the stance they have.

It shits me that my body tried to kill me.

Do or don't get vaxxed. I support you totally if you choose not to. Choose your battles.

Every aspect of the Covid narrative from the government and the media is a demonstrable lie, lie by omission or half truth..best case scenario is an accidental release of a taxpayer funded virus was used to consolidate power and $ to large corporations and usher in tighter government control and the coming “new Bretton Woods” in which your financial and medical ID are linked in a social credit system where your ability to travel and transact freely is restricted. That’s literally what the people that print the money are saying..

if you think just rolling over and submitting is the way to go you are sorely mistaken..it’s never going “back to normal” they’ve said as much themselves..give it a couple months, they will be clamping down harder than before..all you have to do is stop complying, they are powerless without your consent.

We aren’t anti vaxxers. Stop with your nonsense it really makes you look dumb. Most of us know covid sucks and we need to stop it from spreading. The fact is we have a drug in ivermectin that works really well. Look at the states in Mexico and India that have been using it compared to the states that haven’t. You can’t ignore real world testing. You wanna know what the issue with ivermectin is? It costs less than $1 to make and there’s no way to profit off of it. the way the media and government lies and falsifies information about it should be eye opening. A drug that’s been around since the 1970’s and won a Pulitzer Prize just a few short years ago got drug through the mud because it’s not profitable enough. It’s pathetic and it really should worry everyone what the government is doing.

Nobel prize.
Merck refuses to acknowledge the drug as a possible treatment because they were behind the scenes developing their own pill to treat Covid. Merck had no issue promoting Ivermectin when they were making money off it.

The law is not infallible and unjust laws should be resisted. Just look up past supreme court rulings such as Dred Scott where the court ruled in support of slavery.

But no medicine or vaccine is perfect, there will always be rare exceptions.
My wife teaches college microbiology, and although she's a strong advocate for the vaccine, she will admit it's not 100%. No drug is.

That said, millions of people have got the vaccine without an issue. I personally do not know anyone who had any lingering effects.

deaths and illnesses post vaccine are not being reported to or investigated by the CDC with the same urgency as reporting covid cases and vaccination rates.
CDC even put that on their website, based on available data it’s unclear if the deaths reported are vaccine related. Translation: some people maybe more have died after getting the shot but we didn’t really look into it.

To back on topic..

FELD will wait til almost last minute in hope the government and CDC changes their stance and rules. At some point the government will have to consider a stalemate with the public and just accept the new way of living and some will vacs and some will not and people will die just like people die from the flu every year. Not the best outcome, but some people just don't want to follow the science, take side effect risks or have a personal reason to not vacs which should probably be a freedom of choice. The vacs helps but not 100% like some pointed out previously. I've basically just accept that life as we know it will just change especially if you wish to travel to any other country.

I think it is funny some people don't want to get faxed due to their health, yet they smoke cannabis, drink alcohol, and live on a diet of fast food. Ya know, like your typical supercross stadium fan.
It’s funny some people don’t understand freedom. If I want to do all of that I know the risks. I don’t want to get the vaccine so I shouldn’t be forced to. No one here makes fun of you or anyone else for getting the vaccine. So why do those who don’t want the vaccine get grief? If I previously had covid and choose not to get the vaccine are you still gonna call me out on it? Even though I have stronger anti bodies than you do just from getting the vaccine? Is that how this works or do you just choose one side and go with it?

Fla,
It’s pointless trying to convince an antivaxer, if they ignore medical advice from medical professionals, what hope does facts and statistics have.

Besides, you don’t need to convince an antivaxer, all you have to do it wait….

Yep. Drug companies are all shady. They run the world and dictate too much. The drug they’re currently developing is essentially the same as ivermectin from what I’ve been reading. the only difference is they’ll be able to profit off of it.

I'll add my wife is an ER dr who worked through the whole pandemic in an ER. Based on her experience this past 18 months she has no interest in getting the shot and will soon not be able to work in the ER. It's safe to say we won't be attending any events that require the shot. I hope the riders and teams stand up to this. These young men are some of the fittest people on the planet and at extremely low risk for a bad outcome from covid.

It's no secret that the shots do not prevent infection or transmission. In fact a recent study showed that fully vaccinated individuals can carry as high or a much higher viral load that the non-vaccinated. https://www.bmj.com/content/374/bmj.n2074

I still can get past the fact the vaccine manufacturers get to rake in billions in profits while being shielding from liability for a product that doesn't prevent infect, transmission, or even death. Look it up. The pfizer trials were only designed to monitor the incidences of moderate symptoms. Not severe ones or death. Additionally, 3,401 trial participants had "covid like symptoms" yet were not tested from covid. https://blogs.bmj.com/bmj/2021/01/04/peter-doshi-pfizer-and-modernas-95…

If this puts less asses in seats I'm for it. Tired of sitting next to the guy that picks Bubba to win. Or the guy that wonders who'll do a backflip. Or the mom that brought 80 kids and you have to keep getting up to let her go back and forth every ten minutes. Or .......😉
