Alpinestars Tech 10 fitment

I'm stuck between a size 10 and a size 11 in the Tech 10. The 10 is snug and the 11 feels about right. A 10.5 would be perfect but the Tech 10 isn't offered in that size. Do these boots stretch at all or do they stay true to size?

Thanks!

The new Tech 10's do not stretch. They are made of all synthetic materials that will break in slightly to increase boot flex and range of motion but not stretch in size. I would go with the 11's especially if you wear a medium to thicker sock.

I’m an 11.5 and originally got size 11 thinking the booty insert might stretch a little bit. They did not. Ended up going with size 12 and they fit perfect and still do after about 25 hours. So from my personal experience they are true to size. Hope this helps.

Go with the 11. I'm between sizes and went with the smaller one. Tight. Next pair I went to the bigger and much better. But if you plan on walking around a lot in them you'll feel your feet move around a bit. But on the bike, I felt no difference.

I’m an 11 in tennis shoes and I run a size 12 tech 10. The boot will break in after multiple rides, but the inner bootie will not stretch at all.

From what I may know, the Size 9 and Size 10 are the same shell, The booty is the difference. I am a size 10 but a 10 Tech 10 is too tight and I can hardly squeeze my foot into the boot. Yet, the size 11 feels big. The 11 and 12 shell might be the same but I don't know for sure. I wear a size 10 in Tech 7 and the older Tech 8.
Try them on before you buy

Yes, the size 11 and 12s are also in the same shell, just a different size bootie like the size 9/10.

If you measure your feet, is one of them slightly larger than the other?

Most pros will go a size down so they are very snug. You do not want your foot to move in the boot at all.

Try extra thin socks, most moto company socks are stupid thick.

The advantage of going down a size is the boot is smaller, so slightly less likely to get stuck on ruts, and weighs slightly less. As you are between shell sizes, this makes a difference. But there is no worse feeling than being crammed in a boot / shoe.

I had the exact dilemma you did. I had ordered a set of Tech 10's size 10 and they were too snug. Even with thin socks my toe were touching the inside edge of the bootie. Sent them back and got 11's. There is a bit more room than I would like, but its better than having your toes smashed. Wish they made a 10.5 bootie to go in the 11 shell. FWW I wear a 9.5 in street shoes.

I wear a size 12W and found the 10's a bit narrow at first. Set them in the sun until good and warm then put them on. Worked for me but that only helps with width. Thin soccer socks are my go to.

There's an A-Star athlete that's proven that wearing them in the hot tub is a great way to "fir them" to your foot.

Not kidding.

Got a hot tub I can borrow? I'll get that guy from England to clean them first. 🤪

One would think that a company as big as Alpinestars would use the same foot pattern that they have been using since the begininng of time ( Think Sam Kinison for EFFECT ) so as to not alienate long time customers. I no longer wear a size 9 in Alpinestars now that I switched to Tech 10. Guess the last 30 years were a mistake.

That’s why i had to switch to SG12s … my left foot is a little wider than my right but even then I had to go from a size 10 to 12 to get my fred flinstone feet into the Tech 10s!

I love my Tech 7’s. I wear a size 10. When I turned 50, I decided to try some Tech 10’s because I read they have even more support. So I order size 10. They are very snug, and I don’t have much feel in them. Probably because my foot is all scrunched up. I can’t even put my foot in them with the booty on, I have to leave it in the boot and then slide my foot in. So you’re telling me I may just need a size 11?

I wear the same size in Tech 7 or 10. The 10s are a hair tighter than the 7s in a size 10. I leave the bootie in the boot when putting them on. I did the same when I had a size 11 which was too big once the boot broke in.
