After a coupl’a years, let me know when you’re wantin’ to go to a race…again. Gonna miss ya at the track, the airport…& all that.

But, I know I’ll see ya around town.

Congrats on “Getting THERE”.

You were my working week

Good luck and enjoy GuyB. You’ve created something here like no other. For someone with an insatiable appetite for moto content there is no peer. Sure, you’ve gotta learn how to weed through some of it, and hone your BS meter, but that’s all part of it. Many of the biggest stories have been broken here by yourself or often by friends of insiders. Here’s to hoping Vital stays the course and cheers to your next adventure.

Well, Hangtown is done and VitalMX will be under the guidance of a new administrator. I remember tiptoeing into this wild west board back in 2006. It was pretty crazy back then. When you starting posting you really got hazed like nowhere else. If you survived through that you were pretty much accepted. A lot has changed since then. The one constant since I've been here is GuyB. With the board going a more corporate route GuyB had to tame the beasts. Some accepted it and others hated it.

I just want to thank GuyB for the job he's done for all these years and creating THE go to moto board for all of us moto heads. Steve, enjoy your retirement and please don't be a stranger around here. Your weekly reports will be missed.
Best of luck.

And who the hell hit the thumbs down on this?

"GuyB was a good moderator, and a good man. He was one of us. He was a man who loved the outdoors... and motocross, and as a BMXer he explored the tracks of Southern California, from La Jolla to Leo Carrillo and... up to... Pismo. He retired, like so many young men of his generation, he retired before his time. In your wisdom, Lord, you retired him, as you retired so many bright flowering young men at Khe Sanh, at Langdok, at Hill 364. These young men worked their whole lives. And so would GuyB. GuyB, who loved motocross. And so, GuyB Donald Karabotsos, in accordance with what we think your retiring wishes might well have been, we commit your final mortal forum posts to the bosom of the Millville sand whoops, which you loved so well.
Good night, sweet prince."

He pulled me aside at Red Bud and told me he was done. I was shocked and instantly wondered…
1. Really? What are you going to do? Are you actually retiring?
2. Who the hell is going to fill your shoes and get us GOOD pit bits in a timely matter?
Think of the connections he has, the knowledge to look for what we don’t see, the guts to ask if he can shoot something and the skill to get awesome action shots at each event. There’s only a few that can really do all that.
But most of all, thanks being my friend, giving me scoops when others don’t and chatting at the end of the day when you are totally spent. Enjoy it and good luck Gibby. You know you always have a place In Chicagoland to crash if needed.

Enjoy retirement.

Mmm...I don't think it'll be that bad. I've got lots of ideas and things to work on,

Besides, I'm too young for full retirement...and the lights go out there at 10:00 already. Smile

Good luck in your next endeavor and Thanks for providing a platform for my picture stories throughout the years.

Who would have thunk from the Yellow Motodrive board to a World Renowned Motocross forum that you created this Monster--kinda like Frankenstein! Laughing

I was privileged to meet a lot of folks through the boards and eventually a lot of the shooters that I respect a lot.

Steve is one of the very best, and has been a good friend over those years and someone I always looked forward to connecting with. I miss being around the track because of people like him just in terms of his quality as a person. And I am not sure people grasp what it takes to do what Steve does and do it well.
