Go a couple days early and go to
PIR Thursday night, equally as good or better racing in the pro class.

I agree that TNM at PIR is awesome, but lets not get crazy here.
It is wild seeing top tier riders going as fast as they can around that tiny track. The atmosphere there is wild, can’t recommend it enough.

I've been to Washougal before with my dad which was a great time. Need to go again...

Any one got comments on going to PIR to race if I ever drove up with my bike? Is it a good race / track?

I went to Washougal in 2005 and 2006 for the national and to race Amateur day. Fun track, great atmosphere, rowdy crowd, loved everything about it both times I went. I hope it stays on the schedule so I can go back as an adult and really check out the scenery in Washington.

Did Brown ever give racing full time a shot, thought he had a Husky deal, but dont recall seeing him much?

Yes he has.
JMC has backed him the last couple years in SX.
Carson’s a great kid, fast kid, just needs to figure out the not getting hurt part.
Always wish Carson all the best.

Absolutely should be racing it in the 250 class.

I'll be checking his times against the 250 guys. He'll have different track conditions, but it should still give an idea of where he'd stack up against those guys.

If you consider sx only full time, then yes

Raced up there again a couple of weeks ago, our third trip. That whole area is magical by comparison.

Can't wait! Been going there every year for over 30 of them....Wish I was racing amateur days 40+ but oh well.

I think this track is tricky with deceiving soil and shadows to boot- Has Dylan F. raced here much? It's not a pin it and go track and we often see surprises in both classes......I remember when KDub beat an an almost unstopable RC there looking smooth as butter on a yellow RM 250- And then again on that big ol red 450- pure finesse

So many memories, I'll say it again- I can't wait!

In the words of Rob Barnes:
Goooood Moooooooorrrrrrning WASHOUGAL

Then on Instagram "The Viewing Deck" popped and boom I had a ticket....funny how that happened.

So this week will be Thursday Night at PIR and Saturday at Washougal.

21+ VIP and Monster Girl on poles would get me to go for sure..!

Remember the crowning of Ms. Washougal in the 70’s/80’s? They had to shut it down bc too many contestants figured out that more skin meant greater treasures. Ha ha. Great times.

Yep having to race a 250 2t in the 450 class, instead of against 250f’s is complete bullshit.

Luckily Shoug isn’t as deep as other places. If it hardens up in practice he could be dialed in

Absolutely dig this event, track and vibe. Here’s a few from 2012.

It’s beyond me why the Chuck sun is still gone. It’s a crime against humanity. BRING IT BACK.

Not at moment. Ralph Huffman passed away which was a big blow to NW MX but hopefully Ryan & the rest can keep things going in his stead.............

I think they have been fighting neighbors complaining and encroaching development for a while, no? I remember reading a few years ago some neighbor (who of course moved in long after the track was built) was suing for some nonsense, not sure it went anywhere. But, it is Washington state, so fun, noise, etc. are tightly regulated - just like California.

That neighbor needs to go swimming with the fishies in the Columbia Wink

You mean the whole Mel Gibson's lawyer thing. County grandfathered in the track and they are no more.

Bad news. Carson blew out his shoulder this week. He's still going to try and give it a go for the locals.

I was just scanning the thread to see if that was mentioned. If that kid didn’t have bad luck he would have none at all.

After visiting the Southwick National in 2010, ThunderValley in 2011, High Point and BuddsCreek in 2012, Hangtown in 2013, Glen Helen in 2014, Muddy Creek in 2015 and Red Bud in 2016, Washougal's would be next in 2020.
It wasn't to be. Same for 2021 unfortunately still travel restrictions from Europe to US due to Covid.
Totally bummed !
