Ferrandis has the best conditioning of any rider out there. He is always charging at the end of moto's regardless of conditions and he takes risks to pass people that most riders wont. He has the speed to win any race but he will need to be in the top 5-6 riders out of the gate to win. He may crash himself out going for the W rather than settling for a decent finish. The guy has more desire to hang it out and win than anyone and better conditioning

He’s had some run ins with riders before. maybe his only weakness I see. Rooting for him.

He got caught by chase and won the first Moto by a quarter knobby. Let’s just pump the brakes a little.

Thinking with a racer's mentality, he's got a 50/50 chance.

He'll either win it or he won't.
He seemed surprised that he won but now he knows what it takes. He'll be in there barring injury.

Oh man it's come full circle. GPs are sending their outcasts to AMA now and they are winning our championships and banging our women.

Low probability. Rookies don't win 450 championships. But it's not 0. Dylan is a legit threat.

That's what DV is telling him to do : you have to get the better result you can have depending on how the race is going. Perfect example was race 2 at Pala. His better result considering his start was a third place (Ken and Aaron were gone already). He was in fourth at one point, which was good enough for the overall win and as a rookie for your first ever race on the 450 you might want to settle for 4th and take the w more than try to pass a tough guy like Barcia and crash. David pushed him to get third, to make sure Dylan had the overall even if Plessinger passed Ken, and to get the maximum point for the championship. The situation was like : winning is great, but winning in a better position is what I chose to do. That's a part of DV's program for Dylan...

I don't see it happening. Then again, I would never have called it for Dungey to win his first 450 outdoor campaign, either. Still, I think the long-term beat down of the 450 class is going to wear on him. I think this year still belongs to someone old guard, like Tomac, Roczen, Osborne or Webb. Next year it's Webb, Cianciarulo, Sexton or Ferrandis. (Webb is on the fence between new guy and old guy.)
I don't even consider webb as a guy who is a possibility.
Neither was McGrath, until he was..

The thing that speaks for Ferrandis is that he had multiple races in SX where he had race winning or at least podium speed but shitty starts and crashes resulted in midpack results.

I don't think he'll struggle with those issues as much outdoors. But i would still say it would be a huge surprise if he's able to win the title.

I am a massive fan of DF, I love his aggressive style, but he has to be aggressive cause he is pitiful at starts. If he could start up front he would be hard to bet against every week.....

LEARN TO START FRENCHY....fuck sake

MotoMike is saying he has 1 chance in 7.
You’re math is “1 chance in 71”.

I think Mike ain’t too far off.

Chances are high!!! Dude learned how to go fast on GP tracks. Those tracks are not groomed. Not to mention they are all vastly different. He knows how to adapt, that’s his biggest strength!!!

He was clearly the best guy on at rd1 but it’s the opener so I’m not ready to make claims yet. But if he wins this weekend I’m all ready to jump on the bandwagon as him being a title contender.

He has the skills to do it (as do AC, Sexton, Roczen, and more). He can't ride like he did last year though. He was much faster than JMart and yet that title got way too close because of his mistakes.

I think we all have the answer, now...
Ferrandis is the real deal for this 2021 Outdoor Championship.

After Lakewood. I’m going to put his percentage at 85%. He’s slicing through a stacked 450 field like he did in the 250 class and that’s no fluke. His confidence is now at 100% and if he can manage top 8 starts he’s going to be on the box every weekend.

I’m still unsure about roczen and his late series fades.
