30 years old, done nothing since 2017. He only had a 1 year contract at Husky. Predictions for 2022? I dont see him on a factory bike anymore. Maybe hang up the boots?

On the SwapMotoLive silly season podcast they were saying he is most likely staying with Husky.

I don't know about nothing since 17. It does seem like this year has been underwhelming. Bums me out. I like the guy and I like his riding style. Hope he figures it out.

For a lot of people it seems like if you're not a championship contender, you don't deserve a ride.

Dean is a good fit at Husky. I don't see him leaving.

He’s had a bad run with injuries.

2018 and 2019 he finished 6th/7th in SX despite missing two round in each series. In 2020 he finished 8th but was only 13pts behind Malcolm and Osborne. Seems like he’s a consistent just outside the top 5 guy and has the speed to take podiums. How many other guys are there who can fill his seat?

He had such a cool riding style in the early years. Similar to Anderson.Completely different now. Not as loose and flowy

Yep...and Dean is very, very good at socially marketing himself. Rockstar Husky gains a lot every time he posts on Twitter, IG or Facebook with their logo on his head, or his t-shirt. I recently saw an IG thing with him giving away a Husqvarna mini to a kid...and I believe it's the second time they've done that. Pretty good PR if you ask me.

And, Dean seems to really work hard at earning his ride too. He acts like he's appreciative of the opportunity.

I am a big fan of Wilson and he has always done a great job promoting Husky..but his results are just not there and doesn’t seem to be getting better..He needs a podium this summer (I think ) to have any chance of a quality ride next year.

I agree, if you qualify for a SX main event or top 20 outdoors you are a world class rider in my opinion and not only deserve a ride but respect and a few more dollars to go with it.

There are only a few guys who have a real shot at the championship every year. There’s a few guys in the second tier who have the speed to win races but lack consistency. There’s a third tier who fill out the 2-3 rider teams. Dean is at the top of that third tier, IMHO. Well liked by the fans and a great representative of whatever his team promotes. He just needs to stay injury free.

Dude has finished in the top 10 in points in 4 out of the last 5 SX seasons and was 11th this season despite missing 4 rounds. In my book that is not "nothing". You think Husky hired him to contend for the title or for race wins?

Dean has had his last great ride, its over.

There are two or three riders that given that seat may show better results.
Moreso next year as a couple of 250 riders want to move up.
For example, Forkner goes Green, Tomac goes blue, wheres does Malcolm go?

in a healthy season he is a top 10 rider, he does a very good job with social media which reflects well on the Husky brand.... besides who would they get to replace him?

Whoever you’re getting information from is lost. Malcolm already signed for 2 years at husky. Forkner stays 250. Dean has a ride next year where he’s at now.

The fact that everyone likes him and he represents his sponsors well, more than makes up for a few injury plagued seasons.

Is Husky really going to agree to a SX only deal? Cant deny Mooks SX result this year, but I cant see Husky giving someone a SX only deal.

He's on the same boat as Seeley, except he can't see that his ship has set sail long ago. Dude should retire and do YouTube, I'd watch him.

Just with Osbourne and Wilson Husqvarna seems pretty lean if you compare to mother KTM team with 3 riders running at front.

Interesting how the top 40 players all are famous in the NBA and NFL etc.. but if you don’t make the podium in SX or MX you suck and need to quit.
I’ve even heard people hang shit on tomac. I mean this is the guy that HAS WON IT ALL in the last few years and now he is washed up.
leave dean alone.
He is still great and could be greater. Calling for his retirement is totally pathetic. Plus. I ride for fun and at great expense. If he can get paid, have fun and be in the top 10 in the states then why TF not

It’s hard to see the riders in that group.. I thought Deano wasn’t doing well too, until I looked at his results.
Those guys don’t get much tv time, doesn’t mean they don’t do well

When I think Dean I always picture his ridiculous jump combo at Pala on the 250. Was never the same after he wrecked his shoulders messing with Tomac.
