Not the ocean. It's the mountains near Sonoma, CA. The sky is filled with smoke from one of the wildfires we had in the area last year.

You should've taken a video of it.

Ever thought about sending the pic out to be analyzed? Quick story along with the date and location and they can probably look into if there was other sightings in the area around the same time.

Pretty neat to see it for the first time. My wife called satellite , then another , then another, etc till over 50 went by. Very cool to see them coming towards you then leaving just like a train does. They were all fairly close to each other. Satellites beat the crap out of shooting stars last night. Only saw a few of them.
I got out of my truck after just puffing a spliff and saw those fucking lights and about lost it. I had no idea what it was. Looked like a procession of space craft all the way across the sky. Went in and googled it and figured it out. Sure was spooky at first.
About five minutes after that I experienced by first earth quake. That boggled my mind too- all in all, a freaky night.

This is good and before the skeptics pile on think about this:

Existential Angst I believe is the answer to your question. At the time the general hadn't really considered this sort of thing outside of SciFi novels which most don't read and the old school "war of the worlds" "Attack from Mars"

The ability of Spielberg and co to make the visuals and story concept that resonates on a different level and brought it more into the realm of possibility and perhaps some fleeting glimpse of what may be.

Now that folks have considered this for some time now and especially the rapid technological advancements since then has normalized this as an existential possibility

Are you talking about A New Hope from '77 or The Phantom Menace from '99? The models, sets and creature costumes from '77 still look great, the '99 CGI on the other hand does not.

I've never watched any of the Star Wars or Star Trek movies. There's no doubt special effects have come a long way since the 70's.

If anyone wants to catch up to speed on what our US gov has put out so far, and a guess on what they may put out on and or before (unless they get an extension) on June 25th... IMO... probably one big cash grab..... but we will see.. most of what I'm hearing now, I've been hearing since the 70s... so not holding my breathe here...

I think there is an awful lot missing from that report. But perhaps the people who compiled it are not really in the loop… Wouldn’t surprise me.

However, what is great is that the subject is finally being discussed, acknowledged and researched by government/military without the stigma. And nice that they haven’t just brushed the sightings off as birds, swamp gas, hallucinations etc.

It’s a promising start.
