So I can understand why the guys would like to keep their bike problems close to their chests.
Reed was always branded a whiner because people think they want the truth, but often either, don’t even recognise it, or don’t like it, when they hear it. He was alone in speaking out for a long time, sometimes to his own detriment. Now I don’t think we have anyone even comparable?
AP’s walking a tightrope there, but is more open then most. Hope he continues forward in the outdoors.
As for Gypsy, yeah he can be a irritating, but there’s no doubt he puts out some decent content, credit where credit is due.

Probably 😂I don’t think Steve realises gypsytales used to work in the USA as a cameraman at the supercross prior to covid. He knows a lot of ppl in the industry and Steve thinks he’s some super fan from the outback 😂

Another no reason hating from Americans vs across the pond shit in this thread.

Jase is the best in the business 5 mins of ads at the start and 2 hours plus of content, we've never really had that for this sport.

You watch in 5 years time only the good dudes will be on gypsy tales, you'll never see brain deegan, pastrana, ryno, Ricky and Reed , those are some of the sports biggest names ever to do it, and none of you wonder why other places can't get dudes like this on their show ? They rather go to the Australian outsider and for good reason, it couldn't be because Jase talks to these guys as a fan and a normal human being ?

If James Stewart was ever to do a podcast it will be on gypsy and for good reasons.

Support the people who want to grow this great sport of ours and quit hating.

I don't know much about the Gypsy Tales guy, but he seems likable enough, and it's obvious that AP feels comfortable enough with the interviewer and the format to share some pretty personal stuff.

I could do without some of the "eff, dude", etc., but I think he's filling an important niche in our sport. Seems like a more personal setting where these guys can just talk freely, w/o all of the obnoxious sponsor plugs. I dig it...

I couldn't agree more. I thought he was okay at first, but his production, guests, and interviewing style have gotten so good. He really gets guys to open up.

I liked when he was talking to Colt and was like "well you guys (Star) just signed Tomac, that's huge for that team", but its not confirmed and he was trying to get a confirmation from Colt. Pretty slick

Who the hell are they going to sign with then? I get the impression this is normal and its embedded within most contracts as standard material.

Let's say a guy like AP doesn't sign the contract because of the injury clause. The sponsors AREN"T going to allow it to be negotiated out, even if AP is working with a sports agent, because they KNOW at some point in time he's going to get hurt and miss some racing and they do not want to pay the rider during that period.. The sponsors are going to tell him to pound sound if he tries to negotiate out the injury clause and they will just go down the list to the next best rider that will take the contract with the injury clause.

It's pretty clear you are trying to shit talk Pulp without actually saying it....just wanted to point out that ALL of the "good dudes" you listed have been on Pulp. Most of them numerous times and some of them even in studio.

Gypsy is good, best in the business? Not even close bro...

*Edit to add: I really don't want to come off as just shitting on Gypsy, he does put out some good content. Hell, I've even enjoyed some of the clips I've seen with Sleeter who I've given a hard time numerous times on this very forum.

I'll take some "bros" and "fucks" over those random-ass drops that Steve litters through his pods all the time, lol. But I think they both do a great job and both bring a lot to the table as far as moto media goes.

If he breaks it up in smaller chunks that get 50-100K views each (5-6 vids) he is able to monetize against it, sponsors see bigger numbers and actually make a few bucks. If he just puts up the whole thing he maybe gets 100K views in total and it hurts the algorithm. The whole thing is on itunes before it goes on YT. It's the business. But its free anyways.

Factory Yamaha has always been like this. I remember Josh Hill testing all day at Glen Helen (maybe 2006?) before the national, getting the suspension setup well, and he shows up to the national and they brought the old forks and shock and didn't have the new setting. As AP said, he doesn't know where in the chain things fall apart, but they do somewhere. It seems like Factory Yamaha and to a certain extent Kawasaki are stuck in their ways. Honda and the Austrians seem to be willing to please the rider more.

I'm confused. I know one bike is 250 and the other 450 but aren' they the same bike?

Why is factory Yamaha a piece of crap and Star Yamaha the best bike ever?

Does Star have a magic setup the factory doesn't know about ?

Star managed to shave a bunch weight off the pig and balanced what was left which is what the riders wanted.

I like Gypsy far more than whiskey throttle. Ping has good guest but his interview skills are fucking atrocious. I had to turn off the RV interview after ping asked “so 2008...what do you remember from that year? Who did you race?”

RV: “I don’t know aren’t you the one doing the interview?”

Ping “.....”

At least Gypsy can interview

The Gypsy has the best interviews in moto because he shuts up and lets the people talk. Pulp and these other shows just interrupt the interviewee and it gets annoying.
