50,000?

That's complete and utter Lluongo The Drongo Bullshit.

But, it's the sort of crap that All sports promotors get up to. Numbers inflation.

I'd say about 15,000 / under 20,000.

And, if you ad in day(s) before, well you get a reasonable bit more - it's a common, and, I concede, valid, but confusing to some, 'count up' of spectators in overall attendance.

Oh, and when there's 2 GPs in the same country, a promotor may well mix the attendance numbers together, when boasting / spreading BS ........

But 50,000? - Lluongo / Youthstream (at the time) BS Whistling .

But, if they kept the GP(s) in the same place (not necessarily that one in front of the Hotel), for a few years, with good publicity, they might be able to work up to a figure that might come close to it. You want to know about a Sea Of Humanity? - think of the Malaysian (and, of course, most European) MotoGP, which I go to most years. Indonesians are really quite into Motorcycles.

And Indo, really is a Sea Of Humanity, in their many huge cities. Hell, even with the 43% slump in bike sales in 2020 , they had sales of around 3.7 million bikes. They may be mainly scooter / small bikes ( but some really trick - big wheel 'MX' labelled 'Scooters', with 150cc 4t, Watercooled Variable Valve Timing Engines) , but they are serious profit makers for manufacturers. Those profits, from so many 2nd World / 3rd World / Emerging Nations bike sales, subsidize our fancy 'toys' in the 'West'.

Red Bud for good attendance at a GP? Yep, probably. And other Eastern, classic tracks - Yep - Yup - Maybe - through to I'd Bloody Well Hope So ..... etc.

MXDN attendance - well, it was expected to be Massive , and, it was. The USA Team going for a Win on US soil = shedloads of people in attendance.
British GP is limited to 4,000 spectators. Let’s see if YS still claim 40,000 attendance.

I'd not be surprised, Roberto.

I read about the numbers allowed at Matterley Basin.

Various reports seem to give different numbers on the limit imposed . But, yes, the tiny figure of 4,000 seems to be the number. Yikes!

I'm not sure if it's still down for 27th June, but I had hoped that with Vaccinations adding up, and the open spaces of Matterley, they'd be able to allow attendance levels that may give hope for Steve Dixon and Co to at least not send themselves bankrupt.

You'd hope Lluongo / InFront would back off in 'going the gouge' on their fees, but I'd not be surprised if they still wanted their 100,000s of thousands of Euros. And, not that I'm ever inclined towards sympathy towards Lluongo and now, InFront, it's got to be financially viable, and low / no spectator attendance, is a nasty kick in the goolies, that can't be sustained for long.

Herlings hasnt won a title since 2018... The same year El Hombre won his SX title..
So tell me why he is even in discussion of the fastest man?

Over rated.

give me a reason and facts why he is even in the debate?
It‘s pretty simple, when he‘s not injured,he is the fastest. He was 60 points in the lead of the championship when he left due to injury in 2020.

Herlings is only 80% the rider he was in 2018. He’s very prone to injuries and just doesn’t ride it like he stole it anymore. Even at that he had Tim covered last year prior to his last injury. He even looks a bit heavier than three years ago still I think he has the AMA guys covered regardless. Typical herlings thread he post a wind up and mentioned Florida and it’s a four pager.

Herlings normally does the first round of British even in normal times as a warm up to the first MXGP

Some of the injuries Herlings has suffered are strange .
You had the 85cc race . Wasn't there one where someone ran over his foot ? May have that wrong. The sighting lap incident. Then you have Gajser who seemingly yard sales every other week but walks away unscathed. Have any of Herlings' injuries been from crashes where you could say he was riding over his head ?

If Jeffrey hadn’t of fallen, do you really think JA would’ve held him off??

It was just some epic racing and that's what it's all about for me.

I'm only glad Anderson survived the hit on the finish line.

For perspective... At that time, Anderson hadn't even won a single moto in AMA 450 outdoors. It was one hell of a ride, Jason was hanging it out and Herlings was coming. But they raced quite a few laps without JH making the pass. Not sure he would have...

I’d love to see it but I think it ends one of two ways. Herlings by total domination or out due to injury. There are guys that could potentially keep him honest over a season (if they can be more consistent) but he’d be the HEAVY favorite to take the title and I’m guessing would embarrass us most weekends.

Herlings is probably the fastest rider in the world right now and will be a threat for wins where ever he lines up, but the unfortunate reality is he has been unable to stay healthy which is a crucial part of winning titles.

That was an insane ride by Anderson considering he did it on a foot he broke the day before in the qualifying race. Herlings likely would have passed him if he had not laid it over, but still... Then Cooper Webb who is so dang reliable most of the time tips over in a corner with a couple of laps to go in moto 3. If he kept it on 2 wheels the US would have won by a point or 2 with only 1 rider in that final moto, if, if, if. The best event I have ever been to for sure

Herlings is the James Stewart of the GP's...

And just like Stewart, anytime he is on the line he's a threat to win and is likely to do something that will drop your jaw and make you ask "how?", and he deserves to be in the discussion for fastest riders EVER.

Unfortunately for him, he's also like James Stewart in that he's very likely to crash and hurt himself...

He was. Right now i don't think so. The last crash was bad for his confidence and he still struggle with his foot and can't fix it.

It was mentioned earlier, and it's a remarkable comparison... JH gets hurt a lot, we all agree... but TG goes down hard way more often that I would like to see, and seems to just get right back up and go with FAR less injuries.

I'm all for weighing all the factors, but it's really hard to not give Herlings bragging rights. He made the trip over on a bike that wasn't his, a track he had never ridden, lines formed by AMA riders, and just laid waste. He put his money where his mouth was and won. Nobody else has has taken the steps to make that statement. I'd love to see a peak form Eli take on Herlings, but if you're going off of what has actually happened, you've gotta give baddest dude on a bike award to Herlings. If Eli has a problem with it, he can go borrow a KX from a GP team and show him what's up over there. Until then, or a future MXoN, it's pretty hard to say anybody (save maybe Gajser) is better than Herlings outdoors.
I just don't get how anybody can say "it's hard to say anybody is better than Herlings outdoors." Gasjer is MUCH better. How many times does he have to prove it?

And the funny thing is that it's mostly Euros that don't give TG the respect he deserves.

Gasjer is the most under rated multi champion we have seen in the past 10 years

Uggh great job on the spell checks 🙄 I picture you all as children in school correcting the teacher and being so proud of yourself then looking around the class to realize your friends didn't care and wished you'd shutup.
