The biggest surprise for me will be if Tomac regains his beast form...
I think AC has the speed to be a title contender if he can keep it on two wheels. He's been prepping for MX longer than almost anyone else too.
Tomac is an unknown, I don't believe for a second he has lost his beast mode. We saw during supercross that the few times he really cared about it (like the record at Daytona) he turned it on and smoked the pack. Last year he didn't even get a shot at the title given his DNF's and the shortened schedule, so he probably wasn't willing to risk riding on the edge. I give it at least a 50% chance that he turns up and lays down the law.
Roczen gets written off a lot due to his fitness/health and the demanding outdoors schedule, but he looked to be in a much better place this year. Outdoors suits his sprint early style and I think we could see some dominating performances. Webb certainly isn't in his head when it comes to MX.
And just for fun, Marv. It's do or die for him now, maybe we'll see a last ditch effort where he throws everything at it and surprises everyone with a long awaited title?
Wildcard: El Chupacabra appears out of nowhere and keeps everyone honest.

Those two are so fast but either careless or draw bad luck.
Hammer 663s
but i hope we see this season start how it last left off! lesgooo Jett!
Oh. Ok.
Barcia, will be spectacular fast first few rounds then back to 5-10 rest of season.
I understand there are a finite amount of tracks up to their standard and they have 'pro day' or fast friday or whichever is applicable to whichever track.
However, you'd assume pro day would be reserved for pro level dudes (not just factory guys obviously, but there has to be a standard for safety given the inherent speed differential) and you still have to think that private hire of the track (even collectively by multiple teams, theres no competitive advantage as they see each other ride on these days and many competing teams riders train together anyway now).
I dont know, I totally get the above point by bigk218 especially when some poor kid on a 65 ends up getting steam rolled by a 450 going mach 2.
Pit Row
Don't ask me how i know it. I would have to exterminate you if i told you.
Seems we always have a privateer every year that crushes it. Curious to see if the "summer of rodbell" continues.
Webb will roll in 30 seconds behind as he usually does in 5-8.
Lawrence bros will be the main attraction in the 250's.
