Speeway tracks are awesome. The stadium SX tracks look like racing in a garage, comparatively. For supercross next year just use speeway tracks. The tracks will be better. The fans will not have to go into the crazy and crime infested inner city areas.
The nationals tracks are just oversized supercross tracks now anyway. So with speedway tracks will they even be needed. I am all for the nationals, but only if they are real outdoor tracks. By outdoor tracks, I mean natural terrain. The national tracks now are manicured freeways with supercross jumps. Rough and natural; that is outdoor racing. It does not mean that jumps and obstacles cannot be added. But, it has gotten way out of hand.

What national track is a freeway with Supercross jumps? Pala has big jumps but I don’t think it’s a freeway. Other than pala, I can’t think of one

If only there was a connection of some sort from the Nascar world to the MX world. Oh, wait, DMG Daytona Motor Group owns the rights to the nationals, which are under contract to MX Sports. I don't see DC being interested, but if he doesn't cover those bases Feld might...

There goes Johnny, nailing it, again.
Also...
There's always the simple difference in the two types of racing, too:

1. MX, Natural Terrain based track that has a it's roots in the history of Motocross racing going back to when it was called "Scarmbles"; and, let's not forget the term "outdoors".

2. SX, man made track in a stadium or facility in "The Big City". It's "Motocross for the Metropolis".

The idea of "Flush the Nationals" will require the immediate revocation of the OP's man-card and will require review from the OG Syndicate for re-issue. Furthermore, ANYONE that makes silly statements implying that Millville, Washougal or Glen Helen are nothing more than "...manicured freeways with supercross jumps..." should not be allowed on the track until he's been approved by 3 USMCA Riding Coaches and a Sports Psychologist.

That is all,

The Old Guy Syndicate

Yeah, no.

I don't think Danny would have shared his PB & Honey sammiches with the OP. Well, yes, he would have; but, he would have told the guy..."You're nutty".

If we have more ATL type supercross races you can count on the injury attrition rate at least doubling. Too high as it is. But they are cool, just not every weekend cool.

Ye right? I mean supercross is nice no doubt, but it's more like a teaser for the summer. Nothing better than watching 4 long motos in a row.

Speedways no doubt are more entertaining on TV, than regular dome races

It's not like this some new experiment. Daytona has been there since the beginning and it has never been my favorite race at all. It's nice to break it up a little but it's hardly the future.

While the speedway races are a nice change of pace, they didn't exactly make for better racing. To think that could take the place of the Nationals is completely asinine. Natural terrain and elevation, along with flowing track with long lap times can only be done how the Nationals are done. Remember when man-made Utah was added to the Nationals series and was mostly considered to be the worst track on the tour, same difference.

SX is simply a placeholder that exists when the Nationals are off.

MX > SX
