That’s crazy! I’m gonna read into it. Super interesting to hear about
I have an uncle who’s a longshoreman down there. He said close to 300 ships are held up. It’s a bit crazy to say the least.

It is not just the stuff coming from off shore. I have seen some things take up to 8 months on stuff here in the states due to the Covid thing. None of the businesses will tell you the true wait time, because they don't know either.

I understand the delays. What I'm upset about is the appalling lack of customer service nowadays. It's like they think, "Well, it will take forever to ship, so we might as well just take our time." I recently ordered something from a reputable company. They had the product in stock, took my money, created a shipping label, and then didn't bother to pack and ship the order for two days. What the actual F? That's just complete BS to me.

Another issue is with the shipping companies. I understand you guys have been impacted by a massive increase utilization because of Covid. But, guess what? You've had 12 months to get it sorted out. Don't have enough people? Hire some! Don't have enough trucks? Buy some more! Holy shit, is it really that hard to adapt to a changing market?

FedEx recently took 17 days to deliver a 2-day package to my wife. They refused to refund her the increase she paid for the 2-day service. That's bad customer service.
Dude FedEX is a fucking disaster, I had the same thing happen but it took over a week to get a small envelope from SoCal to NorCal after paying two day shipping. The friendly call center employee from India could only tell me that it was a ground shipment and that it would get here when it gets here. And then only half my order was in it Pinch

To be fair though, FedEX was a shit show even before Covid, I’ve had good luck with most carriers but they very consistently deliver late or not at all.

I have been waiting on some EVS knee brace parts from Motosport for months. Every once in a while they send an email acknowledging the order and saying that there are delays.

Some of the supply chain is still working. The tires I ordered from Rocky Mtn last Tuesday were shipped thursday and are out for delivery today per fedex text update. Standard free shipping also, not upgraded.

Yep Same thing happened with me on ordering OEM parts for my street bike.

I went to Rocky Mountain and the radiator hoses for my bike some were back ordered there are 10 hoses total so I went to PartZilla and thet did not indicate any of them were back ordered gave them my credit card# and 2 months later I am still waiting!

Meanwhile peak riding season is going away. I am pissed off and will never order from Partzilla again! Angry

Why not cancel and order somewhere else? Rad hoses are readily available aftermarket

Got my shipping notification and tracking # from Motosport for some tires last Monday. They still haven't shipped. Has me curious...is there a bottleneck with UPS or are they creating their labels prematurely? Any insight on the logistics of that process?

You guys think its bad now, just wait till they print another 4 trillion dollars. Then your order will be delayed 2months and you will have to pay more than what you originally paid before they ship it to you. Stagflation is not a pretty sight and it ain't a "virus" that caused it.

International shipments aside, I am not sure what is going on at FEDEX and UPS. With Covid and everyone shopping online, I expected anything purchased around the holiday season would potentially have delays, which I never really saw much delays at all there. However, the past few months, I think just about every shipment I have received, has been late, well after the holidays. I have had shipments late due to extreme weather, that never even left a state having any adverse weather at all (just an example), but almost all domestic shipments are late nowadays, it is like a new normal that should never (at this point) be normal.

Sad day when USPS and Amazon are more reliable than seasoned freight companies.

I’ve noticed that RMATVMC has their software dialed in and when you go to order a part, they’ll tell ya if it’s in stock or when THEY THINK they’ll have it; BUT!, I’ve noticed a few dates on items I’ve been wanting sliding...up to SIX WEEKS! Cool

And guess what? I’ll get over it!

If we need further explanation(s) of what, how or why shipping is a problem during this Zombie Apocalypse-COVID-Dip Shits got a SHIP STUCK IN THE SUEZ era? Well, then, I think we may not “be getting it”.

I’ve had to help friends find bikes (just got a ‘21 CRF-RL for a Baja Buddy from a Vital forum member last week!) gear, boots, tires, bibs, over-sized bar clamps(!), OEM parts...etc. during all of this madness...& it’s challenging.

But, I think we all know why.

I’m jus’ sayin’...
That’s my point, Rocky does a great job letting you know what’s in stock and what’s being delayed. When I see something is out of stock...
That’s my point, Rocky does a great job letting you know what’s in stock and what’s being delayed. When I see something is out of stock on one website, I hop onto the next and if it’s says it’s in stock when it really isn’t, it ends up being frustrating.
I think some of these places provide data/answers in their systems that’s based on pre-covid operational metrics. In other words, they’re saying something is in stock based on their ability, pre-covid, to drop ship or build to order. That ain’t cool.

I get the frustration; but...and I know we all kinda hate this phrase....

“It is what it is” Grinning

Btw, I had to pick up my daughter at a dance studio right by a Cycle Gear store: they had Metzeler MC360 MH tires for the same price as RMATVMC($74.44 at RM & $74.99 at CG)...so...I snapped those up and a pair of moto-sox, too!

During this ongoing madness, I -HIGHLY- recommend getting something you may/probably/eventually will need WHENEVER and IF you see it/it’s available.

Can you imagine what it'll be like when a big Coronal Mass Ejection takes out the entire electrical grid....

Nah....that'll never happen.

Neither will a pandemic.

I live in Southern California and have a clear view of the Long Beach area from near where I live, there is anywhere from 30 to 40 ships on standby awaiting their time to enter the port for off-load.

I feel like everyone involved in motorcycling needs to exercise patience right now, our industry blew up in 2020 with people staying home and focusing on riding motorcycles again which has been great for growth but bad for supply chain. Nearly every brand in the industry has had record sales in the last 12 months but currently is in a bad situation due to the fact that they cannot for fulfill orders from their customers. This is both at the dealer level as well as the brand level. Hopefully in the next 4 to 6 months supply levels will improve but try to exercise patience, don't be that guy contacting their customer service teams and complaining. Keep in mind that motorcycle brands are operated by enthusiast, we all love what we do. And not every brand can keep up with Amazon.

Buy American Patriots waiting for their stuff to show up on a slow boat from China. How ironic.

I actually looked into ordering aftermarket on some hoses from the UK before I decided to go the "safe" route with OEM. Big mistake on my part and did not find out on the back ordered parts until they shipped me 5 of the 10 hoses required. Now it is down to one hose and it has been bumped back THREE times from PARTZILLA!

I will NEVER order from them again. Rocky Mountain (the BEST) clearly shows which ones are backordered before you give CC info and that is the way it should be done but I found out the hard way it is not.

I'm missing on riding season and taking my girl for a much needed ride so I will just assemble what I can and maybe try to match up a hose at Napa etc.

Nooo! My favourite tire, don't say it's so.

On this topic, I see a huge difference going 6 months back, still August-October last year (full on Covid times) logistics worked well, but to get some basic spareparts now, it takes ages (based in Sweden).

I happened to ruin the reboundamper bolt on my fork when servicing it, sh*t, it took 5weeks for me to get a new.

Especially Honda, anything Honda related seems to take forever now.

Looks like 4/22 for the ones out of stock. Luckily the 18's I run are in stock but I'm keeping an extra set at all times now.

Fed ex is a joke, if you can fog a mirror up, you have a job. A lot of illegal visa people, medically denied- like diabetic black outs, etc. ups another joke, mostly hire wotc and minority points truck drivers. They hide and sleep 1/4 of there shift in there day cabs. Big hold ups are the transportation people working from home, they not productive. Warehouses only have 18 people working instead of 480. Only 1 driver is allowed in the warehouse at a time to check in, for pu or delivery. At times there are hundreds of drivers waiting. I had my temp checked 3 times at 1 shipper at 3 locations. Check truck and trl for bombs at 2 locations, hazmat shipper. Amazon is easily the worst, all shipments are illegal 18k to 28k heavier than bol states. If your 1 minute late, because you waited 5 hrs in line, you have to leave and come back 1or2 days later. I hv a pal broker at a mega carrier, they dropped Amazon because of there ridiculous procedures. There rates are terrible, that’s why only bottom feeder co.s haul there loads. Most have temp visa drivers, co.s safety rating 68 to 98, know as dangerous and soon to be out of buisness. I waited 4.5 hrs for a broker to get load info to the shipper mon. , 2.5 hr drive there. Why would it take 7 hrs to do a simple task. Then I hv to tell the shipper, I need a spare plac card that is a dot rule. They want to argue. Then I hv to say, I was trained by the head of the dot in the state of Wisconsin at the biggest pipeline co. In American. If I do not produce a spare plac card at the scale house, it is a automatic violation, etc , etc 1 or more plac cards get damaged from rain and wind. You need a spare for that purpose alone. Huge delays with warehouse covid rules against us, where not compensated for loosing multiple hrs of lost productivity. Majority of us are paid by the mile, 2020 it cost me over 30k in delays. Consider yourself lucky there is food in stores and water treatment is being delivered. No one would last a day on untreated water.

Yeah how online retailers handle their inventory and communicate with a customer can be really sketchy.

I had an order with AOMC that I placed and they took my payment. After two weeks with no shipment notice I contacted the company and they said "oh that item is out-of-stock for the next 60 days". There is no indication from my invoice or any other email after that there was a delay on the product. (They also don't let their customers know that they actually don't carry the inventory. They take your order and money, then order it from OEM.) It was totally up to me to call them to get them to look it up in their computer. If you want to operate your business in a way where you're taking money from customers and not shipping product then I'm not going to do business with you going forward. AOMC is off my list.

On the flip side, I had a delayed shipment from Cardo Systems recently for a microphone kit. They realized that there was an extended delay (30 days) and offered me a discount code for a future order. At least they reached out to me and tried to offer a make good on the front side. These guys will continue to get my business.

I once had to wait in the drive thru at taco bell for 10 minutes, YES A WHOLE TEN.

Is this the place to file the complaint about that?

Fedex is on time for me maybe even earlier than expected. However, they've turned my S shaped drive to a dog leg because they are the shittiest drivers. Can't manage to get turned around without driving in the muddy yard either. UPS is usually on time but they do that stupid surepost bs sometimes. Which goes to the post office 2 towns over then 2-3 days more to get to the house. UPS drivers are pro's.

I've had a pricey part on order since black friday. Knew it would be a while before I got it. Told up front. Still haven't received it but I don't care. Been in contact with the company and they have been in contact with me. Communication is a must. But, I won't wait endlessly either.
