He should be. He didn't gain three positions by cutting the track, but the punishment needs to be worse since it's a deterrent. Plus, he was clearly watching Cooper and basing his position off that, rather than just riding his race.

I know they’re in the heat of the moment but did he really think that he wasn’t going to be docked any positions for not re-entering the track at the whoops? All the PC riders should know if they go off the track to re-enter where they went off or Star will protest it lol

Makes sense, he jumped on right next to Cooper and another rider after the whoops after crashing halfway through the whoops.
Another rider was also entering the whoops when he cut across.

So technically he would have lost 3 positions if he rentered halfway through the whoops where he should have anyway. Think it’s pretty fair as well as a deterrent.

Nobody protested Anderson, all the Star riders protested Mac.

3 positions was out of hand, but they had to look at it.

Exactly they have to make better decisions that poor decision could have cost him his only shot at a championship.

Mcadoo cut off a corner and 2/3 of a straight away, Anderson went beside the whoops and accelerated while doing so.
Cutting the track and gaining an advantage and accelerating and not entering at the safest possible place are two separate infractions and are treated differently. Mcadoo did the former and Anderson did the latter. I’m not agreeing or disagreeing with the AMA’s penalties just pointing out that they are two separate infractions.

He didn't just skip the whoops....he also skipped the following right hand turn and about 3/4 of the next straight away.

I think if he would have rode down the whoop alley and then got back on the track at the right hand corner he would have been fine and not penalized.

McAdoo cut the track and entered in traffic. All the traffic behind Anderson was on the ground. I think.
