Hes so underrated. I love the way he rides. He doesnt get the hype mainly because he is kind of in lawrence’s shadow. But hes doing bloody well for a 18 year old.

Seeing as you got 70 downvotes, i will quote you and agree... it was a gift , he said it, and he knows it.

Has he done anything that Marchbanks wouldnt have done... no i dont think so .

PC has been a money pit for a while now, Mitch must be dying a little inside when he sees what he is getting out of the guys . he hires.

Obviously he never got anything like what he should have out of AC, and Forkner looks to be the same, off the top of my head i cant remember the last title they won before AC's outdoors.

No doubt someone will tell me.

His riding is splendid. His podium words delicately explained - what a wonderful young man we have here....

Shimoda has talent. 2019 Loretta’s he was always on pace and right there with JL. He can be groomed by PC to win races.

Big respect gained for Jo Shimo last night. I became a fan of a humble, stellar guy. Few other teens would’ve gotten up there & announced that they knew they shouldn’t be there.

So did Webb stumble into a podium finish?

Kind of the same scenario, huh?

Here is how it works.

Gate drops, racing commences.

Checkered flag waves, racing ends and you are scored in the order you finish.

He earned his finish, and anybody but him that tries to diminish and cheapen his accomplishment needs to do some soul searching of their own because they are either becoming an asshole, or are already there.

Joe himself agrees with my take so I dont see how I'm diminishing his accomplishment. Watch his podium interview.

As far as soul searching, maybe I'll save that for when I start calling people names on the internet.

No your take is Joe is slow for a pc guy. Which he’s not, he’s a consistent top 5 guy(better then most pc guys recently) Yes he got lucky to get the podium in this race which I don’t think anyone denies but you are talking like if you are out of the top 3 you are slow.

If I were a team owner, I'd rather have a rider like Shimoda instead of a guy like Forkner. Not only personality wise, but also his consistency. He has tons of room to improve and isn't doing anything stupid. And, he is only 18 years old.

I dont think you're slow if you're out of the top 3. But I do think if you're on a PC bike you're expected to be in the top 3.

Jo wasn’t even on the team until November I’m sure pc is stoked how he’s doing. They are disappointed in forkner I’m sure. So when west starts smith, hammaker and mcadoo need to be 1,2 and 3 or it’s a failure 🙄.

Liked his podium interview. Humble and honest young man. Congrats Jo!
BTW... you did earn it. Riding smart and within your comfort level will get you results too.

Then why aren’t you questioning Forkner instead of young Shimoda?

His smooth, controlled, precise style is going to translate so well to the big bike.

He is 18 and guys like Colt and Craig are 8-10 years older. The young man is doing just fine for his 2nd year.

Stumbled onto the podium? WTF

He was right on Mosiman's rear wheel, Mosiman was not far off Jett and Craig.

Did Shimoda get a little lucky? Yes. But it was not like he was miles off the pace. Craig and Jett were not down for long, but enough time for Mosiman a heat winner to sneak through with Jo right on his rear wheel.

He is what 18 years old. Brayton stood on the 450 podium a week ago at age 36, twice this kids age. He has time!

Thanks bro. 2 weeks ago I was called a dumbass and had like 60 downvotes because I didn't jump on the "Barcias a new man on GasGas" train. I said he starts strong every year then falls apart. 14 days later the guy is dropkicking bikes, jumping off the track and has gone from 1st to 5th in points. So I'd put your opinion right with those people.
