Probably not bad. Marv seems really down to earth. He cant be blind to the fact that he has almost 10 years on Webb and 1 less title. He has made a good life for himself and I bet he feels fine about that.

Interesting comment he made about Dungey, Honda and his possible comeback...

"Ryan Dungey had been talking about making a comeback, had that been discussed with you and did it come close?"

"Not really, I lost a little personal contact after he decided in an overnight move to go on with Honda. So from that moment there was not really a strong link or discussion about his future or a comeback so, I don’t know, I was not really involved in that discussion."

Sounds like RD5 may have upset/burnt a bridge at KTM.

Yikes haha that’s a little harsh. Things makes a little more sense now, then.

The rider everyone claims never burned a bridge, and did everything right... burned a bridge?

You would think in 2 years of wanting to comeback, someone woulda scooped him. I’m 100% for more riders, especially past champs on track

That would be silly of KTM. Dungey, with the assistance of DeCoster and Harrison, is the reason KTM is so prominent in the US today.

So we think that marv and his two 250 world titles a decade ago means he should be the top guy at KTM? Over coop? Checks out

Webb

2015 SX West Champ
2016 SX West Champ
2016 USA 250 National Champion
2019 450 SX Champion

Musquin

2009 World 250 MX Champ
2010 World 250 MX Champ
2015 SX East Champ

Webb would seem to have the more impressive resume, BUT does 2 250 MX world titles beat a 250 US national title??

Marvin is also 5 years older...

I am going to take a guess he also has no problem with all that pressure to be #1 on Coop and then he just prepares to take each weekend one by one. Add the fact it should put a little hunger in him to get back on top, but he strikes me as a guy who doesn't really care about that, he is KTM family. Been a long time since we chatted. Hope all is well.

Lol really, herlings was 14 yrs old and roczen was 15. Marv was 19 or 20 at the time. Herlings would waxed marv in 12 and roczen would won in 2011 against marv

Webb has a 250 outdoor title and 450 SX title.
I was purely saying that Marvin has two world titles and Cooper has one world title... Nothing more, nothing less

Roczen was 16 and Herlings was 15 to be precise.
If you look carefully, Roczen was second in MX2 world championship in 2010, and first in 2011. Very high level despite his young age... A true rival for his competitors. So was Herlings a few months later...

I think Barca will win at least 1 Supercross Race and 1 Motocross Race. He will have no doubts about his program and equipment. And just like that KTM will put another brand on the map as a serious contender. C’mon Japan!!!

Agreed. Marv cut his teeth on outdoor GP tracks...and knows how to operate at that speed. Coop is younger, came up on more SX-based tracks, so might be more tuned to that.

I actually think Marvin at his best is faster than Coop both indoors and out. The difference is that Cooper doesn't need to be the fastest; he can will himself to win and grind it out.
