Hey DC, it's time for some changes, this is not the 2000's or 1988.

DC isn’t here right now! He’s out there trying to get the low down on the Blake Baggett deal for us!

Not gonna happen - I completely agree that modifying the rules would be a great idea but what happens when some dude on his 2021 KTM300 SX beats a factory rider on a 4t? I think the possible implications of a target market suddenly buying 2 strokes because they are now deemed "competitive" is scary to the OEM's. To a certain degree we all buy based off of what we see at the races - letting 2 strokes into arguably the most prestigious (not quite the fastest Tongue ) MX series in the world will have the OEM's shitting their pants, so this aint gonna happen chiefs. A 125 feeder class is a no brainer to me and I would be glued ot my NBC Gold app for even longer on race weekends if they provided coverage of these suggested 125 races.

Sad to say but the way things stand right now, you're correct.
The big 4 OEM's don't seem to have any interest in bringing 2 strokes back.
Although I do think there's a real need for 125's for kids to transition from 85's to 250f's.

My brother is a Kaw dealer, and has said many times he wished they would build a 125 again.
That's the main reason he took on TM. Just to have a 2t option. Even though they're pricey.

We all know that these things won't happen not because of DC but because when he sits down with the manufacturers they don't want this. Yeah it sucks. Look at the series which are not supported by all the factories; arenacross, enduro cross, motoamerica, these are not business models to follow.

Sorry to burst your bubble but 250 2-strokes in the 250 class wouldn't change a thing. Yeah, allow them. No problem there. But the big surge of 2 smokers in the class that you think you'll see wont happen. EMX250 already proved it.

Every Dilla race that Stankdog raced with the 125 against the 250 4ts, I would scream my lungs out and could care less who was leading

If "it wouldn't change a thing", it seems really silly to artificially restrict it.

Methinks fans don’t carry any professional sport after seeing empty stands this year. It’s a ruse. Racers still gonna race. Sports still gonna sport.

Bearuno, they would choose to ride 4 strokes because they are superior racing machines. Plain and simple

After a couple of decades of protection from equal competition, they bloody well aught to be.

I'm not one of those twits that think 2ts would dominate, as modern 4ts are just so bloody good.

But, as I wrote , and have done many times, these BS rules need to be removed.

What I so often find, is the majority of people that rave about the absolute superiority of 4ts, a lot of the time, say that equal displacement between 2ts and 4ts, would be unfair. And that's just bloody Pathetic.

They, if anyone, should be fully behind Equivalency of Capacity rules, if they are so secure in their opinion. Whistling

A few years back when the same subject came up DC used the excuse that it would not be fair to Honda and the OEMs that didn't make a 2 stroke anymore and it would exclude them. How about rewarding the OEMs that have kept investing in and making 2 stroke race bikes and quit worrying about the ones who decided on their own not to continue building them. Maybe now that KTM has some pull and not letting Honda be his daddy anymore they can maybe make some changes................but I doubt it will happen. Sad and while we are dreaming lets go back to a two day sat practice and Sunday National set up and enjoy a weekend at the races, the movie is ON ANY SUNDAY, not Saturday.Blush

If they even up the capacity rules won't they have to restrict the 2 strokes so that they only fire every other stroke? Y'know, to keep things equal Silly

I have both a 250 2stroke and a 450 because I love both... I wasn’t knocking 2 strokes at all!!! but as you guys know they will never return to racing at the top level, and DC has nothing to do with it... the manufacturers do, mainly Honda and they will never build another two stroke!

DC runs his own series. He’s just a promoter. Yeah it has ama in some of the advertisements but it’s his own deal. It’s funded primarily by Honda. That’s who pays the bills. They don’t want 2-strokes so that’s where it’s at.

Geico and JGR. Both of these rules are about ease of access to the Pro sport. For rider's and bike builder's and teams.

Still it would be fun to see a open class with 500cc 2strokes like we did vack in the late 80's

We need a series that caters to its fans not the oem's

Oem's have proven its all about money!!!

What about sport?

Has the competition been riddled out of sport?

Money money money!!!!! It's ridiculous.

Its kinda like the nfl!!! I hate it. I prefer highschool and college football because the fact its for the love of the game.

Moto has tried to hard to go mainstream and it will never work!!!

This sport is for real men and women who work on weekdays and race on weekends!

However since we have his attention I would like like to see a 125 class like the EMX125 series in Europe :-)

A lot of fans of this sport have a hard time grasping why the promoters and powers that be make racing the pro ranks so inaccessible and the elimination of two strokes. It's pretty simple, nobody would go to the zoo if every neighborhood had an elephant. The powers that be in this sport have purposely changed it from a participant based sport to a spectator based sport. They do not want every neighborhood to have a kid trying to qualify for the nationals, that eliminates the aura and spectacle. Honda doesn't use supercross to sell CRFs, they use it for brand awareness, selling Civics and snow blowers. DC and his like know this, the nationals and supercross would be much less special if any fast kid could try and qualify on even equipment, or even rode the track on an amateur day that weekend. Why do you think our sport is the only pro sport that exploits, glamorizes, and promotes injuries amongst the athletes participating, it makes people less likely to participate themselves. They want a crowd at the races, TV viewership, big sponsor dollars, they have all told us that. How will that happen if the sport is not unique and inaccessible to the average rider? How many people would watch F1 if you could buy Hamilton's car at the local dealership? Two strokes make the sport too accessible to the average rider, never will they ever be raced in the pro ranks again.

This is quite possibly the dumbest theory I have ever read...By your logic, it would be impossible for my kid to sign up and play football, because the NFL wants to keep it a spectator sport and they don't want it "to accessible"

The football analogy proves my point. Your kid will probably never even meet a pro football player, let alone be one. Nor will he ever likely meet a pro basketball, baseball, or NASCAR driver, let alone attempt to qualify for any of those sports at the pro level. Pro football is so popular because so many people know how far out of reach or "not accessible" it is to the average athlete, your promoters of motocross know this, why would they want access to machinery for just anyone to try to qualify for pro events? Where would the spectacle be in that? It's about attendance, TV viewership, energy drink sponsors, etc..

Spectacle is Works bikes and an Open class, not a production restricted class.

No one cares about qualifying, if you make the show regardless what you ride you belong.
