interesting tidbit yesterday on Honda_us instagram page (story) there was probably 20 pictures from lakewood of all the Honda riders EXCEPT not one picture of Jmart. This is of course after Jmart put his instagram implying he is out at honda.

JMart was offered 2 years on the 250 and then a 450 spot (a la Broc Tickle) by Mitch at PC. No word if it is happening as Honda needs to find or confirm a title sponsor, but the offer is out there.

Know a guy that is a mechanic for a mid-level 250 team. He has had the scoop on a few other things in the past before they were public knowledge and was right. Doesn't mean he's right every single time, but I believe something at least has legs when I hear it from him.

He’s actually really good on a 450. Also, the plan was to be on a Factory Honda 450 but then he broke his back. Honda did him a huge solid and kept him on at Geico the whole time until now.

Seriously, how can u say something like that when Jmart can be happy to even walk after his 2018 injury?
Just use your brain, if you make more money in the 250 class (specially while beeing the championship favourite), would u consider going to 450 without a good deal, making less money and might even go for a privateer effort?

Not interesting at all. They specifically said LED BY JEREMY MARTIN in the Geico post. Not everything is a subliminal hidden meaning.

Jett and Shimoda is the rumor.

Factory Connection may have a 2-rider team as well, but the dust has not settled yet. At least that’s my understanding
Where is Mumford going?

Regardless of how this all shakes out at FC Honda, I fully expect to see Jett and Jo Shimoda on some form of factory supported Honda 250 in 2021. Jett because he is so friggin' talented that Honda cannot let him go somewhere else, and Jo because he is Japanese and Honda does like to support "home" riders (Tomita last year in MX, or Nakagami in MotoGP for example).

Where this leaves Hunter, Mumford and JMart who knows? Hunter has had a lot of injuries but he's won outdoor motos. Kind of sucks that he has to marketed as a package deal with Jett IF that is truly the case. People forget how good he was in 2019 on a bike that was "slow". Mumford, regarding the comment that he might not be good at SX, he has not raced yet but he has SX tracks at his facility and has been training with Christian Craig (source: Pulp Show this week) so he is probably as ready as any other 250 rookie. And J-Mart, well if he's shopping he should be able to find something decent. I could believe the PC deal, mostly because Mitch has a team that is largely on the sidelines and at this point there is not guarantee that Hammaker is going to be ready for 2021.

Should have been forced up in 2017 after unsuccessfully defending his title in 2016.

I like JMart, just think he should be on a 450.

it funny when people say this, there has never been anyone forced out of the 250 outdoors, sx is regional and that is why they move you. comprehension of the rules is a funny thing around here

If JMart had to stop racing SX this year to not point out to be eligible for next years 250 SX - how would a 2 year 250 contract work? He will point out next year, right?? Just seems odd.

Hence the 450 option if* he points out.

If he’s not going to win the title, he’ll tweak his knee/back/wrist/elbow and bow out to prevent pointing out for anything other than a championship.

See Shane McElrath last year or the year prior

And McElrath is trying to stay down in 2021.

J mart looked awfully comfortable in the JGR semi this past weekend on the troll train vlog. Pretty sure I saw a mysterious piece of paper with a pen laying on top in the background...

It’s a great team. They have had some absolutely shitty luck. Even Reedy said they were awesome and the bike was great.

Same, love the troll train vlog and would love to see the Martin brothers in that rig together. Unrelated sidenote: Freddie is a national treasure, always funny, smiling, and positive in the vlog.

I agree, but remember when everyone called Herlings a sandbagger around here when he decided to stay on the 250 after he had injuries? Double standard...

Mehhh. Reedy was already at the tail end of his career when he rode for them. For everyone else going there has almost been a career ending decision. His brother was a consistent top 3 guy before he went there. I know he won a moto this year and was able to clear the leap on that bike which I agree is impressive.

I never said the rule was to move him up, I THINK he should have been forced up because he had 2 titles and almost got a 3rd straight. It's a matter of opinion.

Reading comprehension is a funny thing around here.

With that logic, Reed would have vast experience with bikes and teams. As for Alex being top three. He is 4th in points and was third at one point. Again, not seeing the problem.

Millsaps did extremely well at JGR, finishing 2nd in SX two years in a row. JG won motos with them and a SX race. Career ending?

Edit: look at Peick, Noren, Philthy Phil. All with great results and love the team.
It’s not the team or the bikes.

Right! Freddie has to be one of the most likable dudes in MX history. His smile is contagious. Hope good things happen for that kid.
